You always post so indignantly here, criticizing the MSM for supposed wrongdoings, then here you seem to be promoting a course of action that would look extremely suspicious. Recusing himself is the right thing to do. The investigation can still happen whether he is a part of it or not, and by recusing himself he ensures that if he didn't do anything wrong, there is no cloud over the result of an investigation that does so.

He likely did. But the problem is his claiming under oath that he didn't meet the ambassador. This looks very suspicious. If he leads the group that looks into the Russian issue, it will only create an air of suspicion on the entire process, same as when groups within the Japanese government run the investigation into supposed wrongdoing within their own groups.

In the name of transparency, the only way to ensure that the investigation does not have a cloud hanging over it was for Sessions to do what he did - recuse himself. It was the right thing to do.

The agitator in chief is using alarmist language to rile his followers and deflect a problem, i.e. the White House connections with Russians. Many Americans are concerned about Russian involvement in US politics. Russia does not have a system of checks and balances, instead it has an autocrat running the country. Right now we have a claim that somehow this current issue is reporting some false information that didn't occur, so that's what I'm focusing on now. The fake news is the way an untrue narrative is built about something. It is specifically presented in a way to try to attach something nefarious to something that is a normal action with no ulterior motives.

Example: I got to work Monday-Friday from 9 to 6. I have a family, who stay home while I work. I have females in my office and I get a paycheck every 25th. I've seen so many people jumping on the "he lied under oath" band-wagon. Sessions was asked if he had any meetings with Russian officials in REGARDS TO THE ELECTION. Since no one knows, at this time, what his meeting was about he can answer "No" to that question. Maybe they can subpoena his two senior staff that were with him at the time. He was a member of the Armed Services Committee in the Senate. So, it seems not out of the ordinary to be having contacts with ambassadors. He met with Polish and Japanese ambassadors too.

I've seen reports (New York Times) of Trump "associates" having contacts with Russians. What is their definition of "associates"? People he knows? People with whom he's conducted business in the past? People directly involved in his campaign? And specifically, WHICH Russians?? Russian business persons? Russian government representatives? The same report stated many of Trump's "associates" have business interests in Russian and no one knows the CONTENT of any of these meetings.

I'm aware of anonymous leaks of intelligence monitored conversations of Russians in which they discussed how much influence they might have in U.S. elections. Yet U.S. intelligence committee has still not received any evidence to show direct tamping of the U.S. election. I don't consider someone getting into Podesta's email account with his password...literally "password"... to be "hacking", just poor security awareness. There's a lot more to "hacking" than simply guessing a password. The Democrat National Committee is not our government any more than the Green Party of the US Communist Party; they are a political group. Was it illegal for someone to access his account? Yep. But again, we've not found any evidence of who was directly responsible for that fiasco. It's highly unlikely Assange is going to give up his sources.

Sesssions called for perjury charges on Clinton, but he somehow is immune. Granted, perjury requires a showing of intent, but it was obvious he lied or lacked candor in answering the question.

And so did Lynch. Now I'm not defending Sessions, but I'm not condemning the man either, I just want Dems to be fair about this because, once again, they smell blood and are circling the boat and will do anything to get a morsel.

Candor is just as bad as lying for an attorney being asked questions under oath. He should also lose his law license or at least be reprimanded.
