Trump = Amimal Farm realised. :(

I didn't see any mention of the executive order affecting naturalized US citizens.

He's gone after dual nationals so why not naturalized?

I'm very aware, but not as many since 9/11, but make No mistake, I'm not a fan of the Saudi Government.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Those are not countries where you have a long sheet list of jihadist trying to kills us like Syria or Iraq.

People in Saudi Arabia have been involved in major terrorism around the world. You really need to be aware of this.

Well, it's a brand new, radical social and political experiment, unparalleled in US history.

I think it's a great thing. The people rejected the Washington establishment and basically wanted an outsider.

I thought there was no way Trump would get elected, and I was wrong.

The polls were all wrong, the media was wrong and everyone underestimated the voter.

My head tells me that there is no way this can last in the US, but the goalposts appear to have been completely shifted, so I can only sit back and observe what will unfold. I really have no idea.

Many said that about Obama and we survived, so we will be ok. He fulfilling his campaign promises and has done more in the last few weeks than Obama has in his first 4 years.

I do know though, that of all asylum seekers taken by the US since 9/11, exactly none have committed an act of terror in the US.

Maybe not, but they were associated with the majority of them, I don't think we should be in a rush to let these people out knowing that the majority of the, return the the battlefield. I think they have it a lot better at Guantanamo than in most prisons.

It's pretty impressive of Trump. I mean, obviously no one asked the Generals their opinions until now, or asked them to come up with any strategy on how to deal with Isis. It's not like they are the heads of the military or anything...

Right?! I mean... If Obama wasn't listening then the generals already have their plans and they'd have them and all related files on Trump's desk within the quarter hour. Anybody who thinks Trump's 30 day deadline is more than him just trying to show himself to be a big man has been completely fooled.

Generals rarely recommend any course of action apart from war. I should think Trump will most likely stumble into another Republican led overseas massacre of American troops at some point in the next couple of years before he gets dismissed from office.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Lol. Did you not see the part where he has given his generals 30 days to come up with a plan? You say kicking *** but the reality is he has no clue what he is up against and no clue what to do about it. Wake up man.

However, 'Fighting terrorists who look different from you' is an easier way to keep his supporters' distracted, armed and angry.

And now the left went out to lunch.

Trump knows it is much easier to mobilize the masses to fight against something than to fight for something.

Obama had 8 years to do something about this, he chose not to. Trump's taking the initiative and good on him.

Now he'll say joining forces with Putin is good because together the axis can fight ISIS, using another lure to get his followers to go along with him. ISIS, it seems, is dog whistle for Islam.

Is that what the left thinks??? Oh, jeeeez.....

Keeping fear alive and calling out a common enemy, preferably one that looks different, is a tactic used by demagogues throughout history.

Obama kept playing down the fear game and said and gave us long, boring speeches we are better, we can rise about this, bla, bla, bla and the people said, enough! Enter Trump. The people gave Obama more than enough time and chances to deal with this issue, he chose not to and now liberals are surprised Trump is serious and kicking *** now? Come on you guys.....

Moderator: Obama is not relevant to this discussion.

I didn't see any mention of the executive order affecting naturalized US citizens.

The Melania is officially not from the attacked countries. But I have heard cases of people banned due to dual naionality. Nobody famous with a US passport ... not yet... but the US long term resident Brit athlete Sir Mo Farah is banned because he was born in Somalia.

why does the US have to be the world's welfare?

That could be considered as the after-sale service of their foreign policies, and even neo-colonialist commercial manners, in the last decades.

go somewhere else! why does the US have to be the world's welfare? go somewhere else!

Come to Japan! Always a warm welcome here. There was a huge leap of almost 150% (from 2014-2015) in the number of refugees allowed to stay in Japan.

Up from 11, to 27.

Trump's lack of planning and his lack of communication with government agencies has made this situation much worse than it needed to be.

Super@you have just coined a useful generic expression that will characterize the rest of Mr. Trump's tenure.

I wonder how the Swedish woman who was gang raped live on Facebook by three immigrants the other day feels about this? I also wonder how the lefties would feel now if it was their sister or daughter?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

A judge has granted those in transit with an emergency stay, so that's good. Trump's lack of planning and his lack of communication with government agencies has made this situation much worse than it needed to be.

Your argument is strange though, for if risk mitigation was your purpose, then logically you should look at where the highest risks are, and terrorism is extremely low on the scale of risk of death in the US.

Sad but true. However, 'Fighting terrorists who look different from you' is an easier way to keep his supporters' distracted, armed and angry. Trump knows it is much easier to mobilize the masses to fight against something than to fight for something.

All those complaining about the US decision, perhaps wouldn't be complaining so much if they were facing their throats being sliced by a bunch of sick individuals within their own country.

We all face this possibility, every day, in every country in the entire planet. It can happen anywhere to anyone at any time.

Your argument is strange though, for if risk mitigation was your purpose, then logically you should look at where the highest risks are, and terrorism is extremely low on the scale of risk of death in the US. There are many, many more areas where resources could be focused that would actually reduce risk of death for Americans. The odds of any given American dying from terrorism is so low as to be near non-existent.

So long as this is, a temporary ban, until the US can figure out how to properly distinguish those more at risk of creating trouble within the US, I see no issue. However given Canada's open door reaction, the US will probably also have to close off their Northern Border too... ;-)

Targeting Muslim majority Countries, in order to limit, the spread of Islamic religious extremists, is a good thing. Which other Religion these days can have members of their leadership make a call to arms, saying its right to go off and kill people - and actually have their followers do so ? I don't see the Pope being able to do that, and even if he did, probably, no-one would listen to him. Christianity in that sense, is a very weak religion - we've made it so historically by separating Religion from Politics.

All those complaining about the US decision, perhaps wouldn't be complaining so much if they were facing their throats being sliced by a bunch of sick individuals within their own country.

At least, albeit a radical approach, someone is, doing something about it now. Let's hope that during the next 90 days, the US can actually come up with a better way to determine whether or not someone should be allowed entrance to their country. In the meantime, unfortunately, there will be innocents caught up in this process. Perhaps if the Globally Muslim Communities turned in those among them, who preached Violence against other religions then this situation would not have arisen and the World would be a slightly more safer place.

So, Trump's wife.... I guess she's not leaving the US for a visit abroad anytime soon, eh?

I didn't see any mention of the executive order affecting naturalized US citizens.

I just love when someone who lives in another country is nasty about non-nationals living in theirs...

So, Trump's wife.... I guess she's not leaving the US for a visit abroad anytime soon, eh?

Asked what he thought of the United States now, Darweesh pointed a finger in the air, and said emphatically, “America is the greatest nation, the greatest people in the world.”

Now you're just being silly, Darweesh

Those are not countries where you have a long sheet list of jihadist trying to kills us like Syria or Iraq and I'm sure if there are any jihadists within those 3 mentioned countries they will be vetted more thoroughly than ever now.

Please tell us which of the terrorist attacks on US soil in the last forty odd years have been committed by people from any of the seven nations that have been banned. Please also explain why none of the majority Muslim nations where Trump has business interests has made the list.

".......Donald Trump's wide-ranging order is likely to affect many more people, as it prevents citizens of the seven named countries from travelling to the US at all - even if they have valid visas."

You have to start somewhere and even if it's an inconvenience, you push through and tweak the system to make the appropriate changes.

"The restriction applies to dual nationals - so, for example, a British citizen who is also a citizen of Iran would not be able to enter the US. It also applies to green card holders - legal permanent residents of the US - from the seven countries. "

Obviously the system needs some fixing. Look how long it took to fix Obamacare care website.

As I read this story, I wondered why there are homeless in the USA when these apartments are setup and empty. All this help for people outside, but not-so-much for people already here?

Thank you, President Trump, for making good on your promise to put and end to the lunacy of accepting "refugees", "immigrants" and "asylum-seekers" from nations where the fleeing subjects should be at home defending their own country. . . .

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

So this obviously can't continue.

Notice that Trump's extreme vetting of Muslims does not include Muslims from countries in which the Trump Org has properties and has financial interests: Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain.

Apparently even those from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia or Yemen who have already lived in the US and have green cards are unable to enter the US (if they are currently outside the US). Pretty disgraceful stuff.

Not all and not even the majority, I have a Iraqi friends and I heard of No such thing, so it's not something that's wide spread.
