And much like the idea he floated a few weeks ago about delaying the election entirely, it's not exactly up to him.

Trump has never understood the role of a US president. He still thinks he's CEO of the real estate company he inherited from his daddy and that has Xi/Putin like powers. He's never understood the US Constitution's balance of power.

Why do people keep listening to his lies? Are his supporters THAT ignorant and stupid? (Wait, I already know the answer)

But federal law prohibits sending “any troops or armed men” to any polling place in the country, and any effort to send them is a criminal offense punishable by up to five years in prison. One caveat: Troops can be sent in “to repel armed enemies of the United States” during voting. The law would also bar the president from sending in nonmilitary law enforcement if they are armed. Most marshals and FBI agents usually are.

Here is Trump's angle. He probably thinks that anyone who doesnt vote for him is an "enemy" of the state, and thus federal troops/law enforcement is necessary to "prevent" fraud!

Watch for the "executive" order! He is going to do his best to steal the election and tear the country further apart!

part of a growing pattern of rhetoric in which he has suggested that he wants to make it harder for Americans to vote.

BS! He doesn't want to make it harder for Americans to vote, he doesn't want the Democrats to steal his landslide victory with these ridiculous mass mail-in ballots.

-16 ( +3 / -19 )

@ P. Smith

he wants the power to control an ejection

typo? I think you may have meant to write 'erection' but even then you'd be mistaken ;-)

4 ( +6 / -2 )

he knows he needs a rigged election to come anywhere near a landslide victory.

So by denying $25 billion to the post office, he's rigging the election? Come on, man!

He doesn't need a rigged election to get a landslide victory.

doesn’t care about addressing the pandemic at a national level

You must have missed all those White House coronavirus press briefings where Dr. Fauci was speaking in that gravelly voice.

BS! He doesn't want to make it harder for Americans to vote, he doesn't want the Democrats to steal his landslide victory with these ridiculous mass mail-in ballots.

Enough bs Serrano. Tell us how sending armed federal police to polling booths will stop voter fraud. Break it down for us. How is this not supposed to look like a tinpot dictator?

8 ( +11 / -3 )

Why do people keep listening to his lies? Are his supporters THAT ignorant and stupid? (Wait, I already know the answer)

Serrano answered that already.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

I’ll preempt the usual excuses “Every time trump trolls the leftists they fall for it and go crazy” etc etc

Yeah, real classy. What a great president to troll the people by wiping his butt with the constitution. Har! What a good one!

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Lock him up.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Good thing the USA has actual laws stopping the president. What a disaster of a human being

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Trump, stop invebring powers you dotnt have. This is America. Your supporters may be stupid, but we still have the rule of law.

Trumps floats sending the law to polling places, but lacks the power

'Trump floats' is euphemism for 'Trump dog whistles'. Trump knows the Trump media (US and 'foreign') will take his 'floated' idea and push it on to the cult of personality who'll parrot him.

Trump, Inc have been masterful at using language their base can easily repeat - without having clue one what they're repeating might actually mean at even surface level. Think sport stadium cheers.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Trump has never understood the role of a US president.

No, he understands exactly what his roll is and that's not to bow to the establishment

He still thinks he's CEO of the real estate company he inherited from his daddy

He didn't, he built his own company.

and that has Xi/Putin like powers. He's never understood the US Constitution's balance of power.

Wait, but the Dems understand the Constitution??? Where have you been the last 3 years?!!

I am not sure what trump's lawyers can do.

A judge asked Trump's lawyers to prove his claims about mail-in voting "fraud" — it did not go well

https://www.yahoo.com/news/judge-asked-trumps-lawyers-prove-214605614.html

The non-redacted portion of the Trump campaign's response consists in large part of news reports and copies of the campaign's open records requests to counties. It contains no new evidence of fraud beyond what local news outlets have previously reported. The examples of fraud that it does provide include the case of four poll workers who admitted to harassment and intimidation of voters at one polling place during a special election in 2017. It also includes an election judge who altered vote totals in his polling place between 2014 and 2016 at the behest of a political consultant. And while the amended complaint brought by the campaign cites a few incidents of mail-in fraud, none were mentioned in the discovery document.

No, he understands exactly what his roll is and that's not to bow to the establishment

That’s the roll (sic) of US President? What’s the establishment? Who is it?

If it isn’t him then he’s not doing his job properly.

A judge asked Trump's lawyers to prove his claims about mail-in voting "fraud" — it did not go well

That's one partisan judge, but more from liberal sites...

President Donald Trump is threatening to send law enforcement to polling places for the upcoming presidential election, part of a growing pattern of rhetoric in which he has suggested that he wants to make it harder for Americans to vote.

And Trump proves once more he is doing his best to make America a third-world dictatorship...

And his supporters blindly cheer him on...

Such hate and disdain for our Constitution and democracy...

No wonder they call wave Confederate flags...

4 ( +6 / -2 )

A vote for trump is sticking it to the man!?

That’s comedy gold.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Each and every action that Trump takes, leads me to believe that he wants a fascist state. He doesn't mind using the police to raid protests, clear people away for a simple photo op, control elections, and advertise hate and racism. He takes pages out of how to run a country from the books of his buddies, Putin and Kim Jong. Little by little, he takes away the fabric of democracy, and his followers love him for it. Why?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Um, Bass?

In a Pulitzer prize winning article, it was laid out piece by piece how Trump was a millionaire with daddy’s money by the age of eight. How he went to work for daddy, how daddy used his patronage to get the tax variance and approvals.

And then he lost a billion dollars. Many years he lost more money than any other individual taxpayer in the United States

Everything else besides Trump Tower, and i mean EVERYTHING else, Trump models, Trump Express, Trump steaks, Trump vodka, Trump’s vacunos (Seriously, how do you lose money on drunken people gambling on a game in which the odds favor you?? Trumps golf courses in Scotland, and who can forget Trump University, he has been a miserable despicable failure.

I guess they didn’t publish that part in Breitbart.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

And he has as much authority to order law enforcement into polling places as he does to delay or redo the election. In other words “none”.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Democrats vote by mail far more than republicans. Delaying the mail means Democrat votes won’t be counted. Come on, man, do a little research!

Yeah, the Democrats can vote in person with voter ID just like Republicans. Come on man, do a little research!

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

No, he understands exactly what his roll is and that's not to bow to the establishment

So trump is an anarchist? Sounds like a commie socialist to me.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

We’ll need the law enforcement to throw trump out of the White House come January.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

In a Pulitzer prize winning article, it was laid out piece by piece how Trump was a millionaire with daddy’s money by the age of eight. How he went to work for daddy, how daddy used his patronage to get the tax variance and approvals.

So what’s wrong with that. I worked for my dad as well. Thank God I had the advantage and once I got all the skills I needed I carved my own way and created my own wealth. Nothing wrong with helping your kids. I help mine as well.

And then he lost a billion dollars.

Made it back tripling it and wrote a bestseller and a 14 year number one successful TV show.

I guess they didn’t publish that part in a the liberal sites.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

We weren’t discussing whether democrats can vote in-person; we were discussing how Trump is attempting to suppress democratic votes by aresing about with the post office.

Let’s discuss how Democrats are trying to cheat with voter fraud

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

It’s unrelated to Trump attempting to suppress democrat voting.

No, it’s related because liberals are accusing Trump of voter suppression without a shred of evidence, they claim they have it and conservatives say Dems are cheating and harvesting votes, but they claim we have no evidence, despite the obvious, it seems we are at an impasse.

It’s also just a conspiracy theory that rightists have whipped up to explain a Trump loss.

Suuuuure. Lol

Odd that in 2018 it was republicans caught committing voter fraud,

and Dems in NY and NJ this year in local elections as well as California in OC.

but conservatives are screaming about the Dems doing it.

and vice versa

Good thing is rational adults aren’t as ignorant as Trump and his supporters.

Voting for Biden a man that confuses his sister for his wife is beyond ignorant

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Democrats vote by mail far more than republicans. Delaying the mail means Democrat votes won’t be counted. Come on, man, do a little research!

Here you go. Oh my...

Voters should not be forced to deal with the problems that massive voting by mail would create.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Let’s discuss how Democrats are trying to cheat with voter fraud

OK, then. Show us the data from Chris Kobach’s disbanded voter fraud commission. The one that was disbanded because it couldn’t come up with any data to support its assertions.

Voter fraud is incredibly rare. There is overwhelming research to support this.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

OK, then. Show us the data from Chris Kobach’s disbanded voter fraud commission.

Not just him, but also others...

Been showing you guys everyday.

Voter fraud is incredibly rare.

No, it’s very common and when liberal news outlets print that it is, who the heck am I to argue?

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Enough with the conspiracy theories.

Except that trump himself has been going on that the elections will be rigged!!!

He's preparing for defeat and an escape from the humiliation.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Meanwhile the trump tax fraud saga seems to be close to ending.

His lawyers have tried every possible trick to hide them, but there is a hearing scheduled for September 1 setting the deadline.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

when liberal news outlets print that it is, who the heck am I to argue?

Trump’s own commission failed to find sufficient evidence for widespread voter fraud and so the commission disbanded itself.

That is a fact. That is not liberal opinion.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Is there country that practises vote by mass mailings, btw?

Switzerland. 90 percent are mailed in.

It can be done.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

A New Jersey judge invalidated a city council election and ordered a new one after allegations of voter fraud, according to a ruling issued Wednesday.

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/08/20/politics/paterson-new-jersey-city-council-voter-fraud/index.html

Mail in voter fraud by Democrats. Whole election has to be redone.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

https://www.npr.org/2020/08/22/904693468/more-than-550-000-primary-absentee-ballots-rejected-in-2020-far-outpacing-2016

More than a half million ballots rejected. Why?

Some Not signed. Why? Some Signature doesnt match. Why? Some people moved. Why? Some people dead. Why?

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Nope, I said vote in person. and absentee balloting and universal mail in balloting IS different. We know this already.

despite having been screaming for the past week or two that it is secure and totally different than mass mail voting.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

so everytime we find fraud, instead of using this as evidence of the fraud it is.....

Liberals just say "well catching the fraud shows the system works!"

No, a system that works would not ALLOW fraud that needs to be caught (plus how much is NOT caught?)

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

oh so NOW you want to distinguish between absentee ballots and mail in voting? didnt your team just say it was the same thing? cant seem to keep the same story for more than 5 minutes.

Because of mail in balloting fraud, the entire election must be redone. Means there is significant fraud in Mail in balloting. So much so that the entire election results were thrown out.

So this cant happen in the Presidential election too?

on charges arising from a scheme to collect and illegally mail in hundreds of absentee ballots in that election.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

The desperate loser is so desperate to win. How pathetic can you get? Thankfully a majority of people in the US are tired of his BS and bluster and can see right through it.
