It's a mean thing to do but the UK shouldn't be jailing people for this. Wow. If he made a quick joke, that's different than saying 'He should die because he's black. Let's kill all the black people.' The second one is hate speech, the first isn't, and no one should be sent to jail because of that.

At least freedom of speech still means something in the US. Not as much as it used to thanks to Political Correctness run amok, but still a enough to avoid silliness like this.
