I find it fascinating that after years of calling democrats communists and socialists, so many on the right are defending Putin and Russia. I guess their patriotism standards are fairly transactional.

The official said the public won’t necessarily know what actions the U.S. has already taken or will take in the future against Russia involving cyberspace.

Let the games begin!

Is this an Onion article?

Obviously, Putin and Assad are trying to bomb Aleppo into submisson as evidenced by their indiscriminate targetting of hospitals and UN convoys bringing food and medical supplies.

The question is, when and if Aleppo falls, will the victors exercise the concept of with malice toward none over the vanquished or will they murder many if not all of them?

It should also be remembered that the spark which lit this powder keg was the arrest of 2 small boys by pro-Assad forces in Aleppo. The 2 young boys were tortured and murdered for the crime of spray painting anti-Assad graffiti on a wall. Either way (fight or surrender), it doesn't look good.

(sigh)

Could you atleast pretend to recall that all this could have been prevented if the shills in control didn't break their word and indiscriminately kill Syrian soldiers all the while claiming it's an accident? US upped the game now with that blatant act of terror. Now the morons are crying over spilt milk? What a bizarre world we reside in!!!

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

well said, Fred. I'll never forget the disgusting image of Obama's officila spokesperson pouring scorn on Russias complaint abt that.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

That's rich. The US has done more war crimes in Syria than Russia and Assad's forces, not to mention the US crimes in the rest of the Middle East. Arming "rebels" (really Islamic terrorists) is not a war crime? The killing of Syrian forces, to the Islamists' benefit, during a ceasefire (we all know it was no accident) is not a war crime? Oh, and about "the cyber", as Trump would say, just ask Edward Snowden about that.

The answer could be like that: "Obviously, US is trying to bomb Afghanistan / Iraq / Libya into submisson as evidenced by their indiscriminate targetting of hospitals and UN convoys, as demonstrated in Kunduz and Mosul". After that who gave the US the right to critisize others?

And what evidence are you talking about? I saw several funny photos, like "stabilizer of a Russian bomb near a UN convoy truck" (notwithstanding the fact that if such a bomb detonate, then there will be nothing left in the radius of a hundred meters), or "the Aleppo hospital, destroyed by an air strike" (notwithstanding the fact that this hospital was demolished by "moderate rebels" in 2013, when the city fell to them). McCain's Army propaganda division hastily produces sloppy fakes, and the Western media machine spread them.

This kind of reminds me of a food fight . . . everybody has a different opinion about who started it and who's primarily to blame.

True, the U.S. has made some mistakes. The major difference is that an investigation and admission of responsibility usually follows those mistakes. However, the same cannot be said for the manner in which the Russians have conducted their air attacks, as a matter of fact, it's just the opposite. Whenever the Russians do something outrageous and intentional, they just pretend that they don't know anything about it, like with that Malaysian Airlines flight blown out of the sky with one of their surface to air missiles over Ukrainian territory.

Again, once the dust has settled in Allepo and the fighting's over, will the victors demonstrate with malice toward none? I hope they are able to forgive them and try to build bridges, but I seriously doubt that that's what Assad and Putin have in mind.

Really? I don't remember any investigation nor admission of responsibility for Iraq. Can you point me at that?

Just go to Google and type in the following:

u.s. military admission to mistakes in iraq and afghanistan

You'll find plenty of stuff to read there.

Sometimes I look at the expletive that my government releases and just hang my head in shame at their stupidity. The accusation of political hacking I can understand, but war crimes? Very thin line defense department... very thin line. Russia is just getting collateral damage just like the US does. The question has always been, before shooting did they know what it actually was before making the choice to fire.

Whenever the Russians do something outrageous and intentional, they just pretend that they don't know anything about it,

Please, be more precise! Tell exactly what the Russians did horrible - and then support your claim with facts. Without that it's just a re-run of the poor comedy show "Colin Powell in UN: Saddam has nukes!!!!" again.

like with that Malaysian Airlines flight blown out of the sky

OK, let's look at the story more closely, beyond the propaganda noise. I remember very vividly the mass hysteria that spread in the Western media in July-2014 ("Putin killed our children" etc). It continued for a couple of months, then quickly died down, as soon as interesting facts began to emerge - about Ukrainian air controllers who diverted the flight to the much southern (more close to the combat zone) route then usual, about the fact that Donetsk rebels did not have Buk launchers nor expertise to launch the very sophisticated Buk system, about exercizes of the Ukrainian air defence units on that day, about the fact that Ukrainians have a track record of shooting-down of civilian planes during such exercizes:

Im no fan of Putin, but the US accusing Russia of war crimes is highly hyocritical. Without Russia the US would walk over everybody to get what it wants. Like him or hate him Putin brings a balance to world power.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Used to be USA says those statements and world agrees.

After Vietnam , Afghanistan , Iraq, Libya and Syria and next Philippines...

The finger is pointing directly at Uncle Sam and the world wonders why the UN and ICJ is not doin anythin at all.

"These are acts that beg for an appropriate investigation of war crimes," Kerry said. "They’re beyond the accidental now, way beyond, years beyond the accidental. This is a targeted strategy to terrorize civilians and to kill anybody and everybody who is in the way of their military objectives."

Stating the obvious again.

Russian hackers don't care. Really, what's the consequence of hacking in Russia? They're not prosecuted, and they don't care what the world thinks of them. Why do ya think so many internet scams are basing themselves in Russia? It's like a wild wild west of the internet over there. That's why nobody trusts any software made in Russia, lol

And Assad doesn't care. As far as Assad is concerned, anybody who opposes his rule is a rebel, even civilians. Despotic governments like Syria, Gaddafi's Libya, Saddam's Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, etc. ordinarily kill civilians to keep stability and stay in power. People just turn a blind eye on their acts because they don't want chaos, but they don't deny them. If they're willing to kill people in times of relative peace, why would that mentality change in times of war? No, of course not - these targeting of hospital 3x in mere days is deliberate - he doesn't want those ethnic groups multiplying and overrunning his own.

Only a secure padded room can protect him from Putin lurking behind every bush.

It's like the CIA - everybody's boogeyman who's around every corner

5 ( +6 / -1 )

And the ruthless killing of civilians, defenseless children continues. Those doing the killing just deny it - and lie about it, of course. What I don't get is that Russia keeps supporting a monster in the form of Assad. Is it because Putin is a monster (always in suit and tie) himself? And/or he is the leader of a country that like Assad have no qualms about exterminating its own people if that suits their purpose: absolute power, control? The label is going to stick to this duo: Crimes against humanity.

The USA have toppled governments and killed their presidents like Saddam and Qadaffi.

Look at Iraq and Libya now .

Washington hasn't learned a lesson and is now aiming to kill Assad now that Syria now looks worst than Pompei after the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius.

Yet the UN is silent like a lizard !

When one speaks of war crimes it seems like America is exempted just like what they did to Hiroshima and Nagasaki .

Another of its target now is Duterte who might end up killed and whose Palawan will be turned into another Syria.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

presidents like Saddam and Qadaffi.

Those are not presidents - those are despots. If they're presidents, they're presidents in name only.

Again, despotic governments like Syria, Gaddafi's Libya, Saddam's Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, etc. ordinarily kill civilians to keep stability and stay in power. People just turn a blind eye on their acts because they don't want chaos.

So let's not all pretend like those despots are humanitarians. Just see them as who they are and leave it at that.

whose Palawan will be turned into another Syria.

Do ya even know where Palawan is? There's nothing and no one on it but beautiful nature. It's nice.
