This is no better than Snowden. Why do people pass on information they are not suppose to?

Not to condone any death, if there is a hell, I hope the demons have sharpened their tridents.

After Jihadi John's true identity came to light, he disappeared from sight. Obviously a coward, and a vicious one. He probably did a lot of sweating since being identified. If they got him, good, if they didn't, they will. Congratulations to all who assisted in finding and targeting him.

I wish they would wait until after he is confirmed dead to make the announcement. If they got the wrong people, he will be back on the Internet making another wack speech.

Don't know about the idea of publicizing the event potentially before the fact. Rather than grandstanding for the media, the authorities should obtain actionable intelligence and then do the job. Saying this and that but not delivering is worse than saying nothing at all.

Well justice was served if they indeed got him.

Now that IS's days are numbered, they are eliminating loose ends, making sure they don't talk.

BTW, how would Americans feel if Syria was targeting terrorists in the US with drones?

If they really got him, he is replaced immediately. While Putin actually does something, the US presents sill propaganda stunts.

So what? I less lunatic won't change a thing.

BUT instead they probably just bombed another wedding party or hospital full of innocents.

-7 ( +7 / -14 )

I hope he survives, missing a few useful body parts, so he can be captured when IS are finally wiped out.

Heh, be careful your mask is slipping.

How anybody can post a negative comment in regards to the demise of this unspeakable individual is beyond me.

Even if they didn't get him it's nice to see they're trying....

Even if they didn't get him it's nice to see they're trying....

... for a change.

But then again, the US has a habit of killing the same important terrorist numerous times. They somehow keep on popping up alive.

I don´t mind if they got him. I simply doubt that they did, and I am pointing out that in the big picture it does not make difference. ISIS has tens of thousands of Jihadi Johns.

And now stand by for the traditional claims that they actually hit a wedding party.

Well, if a drone strike is what it takes to get this psychopath, then, so be it, but it would be better to capture him and then make him kneel while being threatened with beheading for a few days, and then behead him.

From another news source I learned that an American official announced that Emwazi was hit while walking out of a building towards a vehicle. It was a clean hit and there are no other victims. More news is likely to appear in the coming hours, maybe days.

On the news just now the expression 'vaporized' was used, so identification of the body may take some time.

If it was him, he got better than he gave.

Best Friday 13th ever! Good riddance JJ.

Hell would be to good for this sadistic B. Vaporised his very soul I hope.

"The official was not authorized to speak publicly and requested anonymity."

I've read this same excuse a thousand times now, yet no one ever gets in trouble. This is the standard line being used by the US when it wants to excite the many sheep, and by the looks of this comment board, it worked.

“It’s no great secret I think it is essential for Britain to play its part in the fight against this hideous extremism that is brutalizing the lives of so many people,” Blair said. “It is important we play our full part alongside America and other allies...."

Aw, Tony's getting all nostalgic and rambling on with the kind of rhetoric he used before his reputation went down the crapper after playing a "full part alongside America and other allies" a decade or so ago. Just shut up.

Jihadi John was a brit reject. I hope the claims can be confirmed. Jihadi John, push up dem' Daffodils please!

One more down and many many more losers to go who were accepted into a society that gave them more than they could ever had hoped from the scumholes that they were born in and returned to. Islam was born in a cave in the desert and that is where it should die. An utterly stupid and barbaric concept.

The public have the rights to know about this person, for he was on the news or being put on the news for the last few years.

We cannot back down in the face of militant islam. Taking out the likes of Jihadi John is a good thing and may more of his type be taken out.

We cannot back down in the face of militant islam.

Leave Islam to themselves. 'Not backing down' simply directs some of their hatred at us.
