Still can't believe this. How does a nutjob of that variety get to share breakfast with the US Ambassador? At the very least this shows that security and screening is lax. Wonder how many nasty violent hardcore nationalists like this there are in ROK. How embarrassing for them to have the whole world get a peep behind the screen.

Applauded by North Korean state media. What an embecilic nation.

JT: You need to have better titles for your articles, at first look it comes out as North Korea praising US Ambassador.

South Korea is sweating buckets because they allowed a known nut-job to get close to and attack the US ambassador. If the same thing had happened to the Japanese ambassador the South Korean's would have given this madman a medal of honour.

Well as the article says he did attack the Japanese ambassador already. He also 'organises protests against Japanese territorial claims to a group of small islands controlled by South Korea.". So this might explain why he was given so much freedom despite the fact that he was crazy.

South Korea's police mysteriously become lax when it comes to Japanese Embassy or Japanese Ambassador or Japanese journalist Kato or Japanese sport teams. It seems US joined the club.

This was an inside job and someone within the South Korean government was behind it. How else could a high profile agitator such as Kim Ki-jong get into that mornings event?

This guy has a guarding angel that keeps him on the streets. Each time that he should be hauled off to the funny farm he walks away scot-free. And in this latest attack I expect that Kim Ki-jong will get another suspended sentence and walk away scot-free once more. Heck, he might even go down in history as another Korean folk hero. Hell, he has a chance of joining An Jung-geun!

South Korea has a problem and it needs to address it sooner than later. The US best start providing it's own security......
