as Trump’s campaign gains momentum even as he increases his hateful and divisive rhetoric

Why are they so worried? Don't they have faith in Clinton / Sander's efforts?

with insults slamming Mexicans and illegal immigrants

This issue seriously needed to be addressed. Some are violent criminals. They're illegally in the US obtaining state issued drivers licenses. Their kids eat free lunch in our schools. They probably get better health care than US Veterans. Other politicians don't even care about reinforcing the border and who hops across it.

a call for a ban on Muslims entering the United States.

It was a temporary ban, not a permanent one. Trump is also against islamic refugees entering the US. So are 31 governors and more than half of the US population. Other politicians are saying they're widows & orphans, but they fail to recognize a possible threat from the lots who are young men. These are the same cats who won't even use the label, "radical islam."

Has the US gone mad ! If wasn't so long ago the trump & co were harassing an old women and son to sell there farm so he could build his golf course in Aberdeen Scotland, after years of constant pressure they eventually sold it. This is the kind of man he is.

The more he pisses off idiot liberals, the more I like him!

-12 ( +8 / -20 )

@nattorice, his sentence is OK, but if you want a translation, it goes like this: The more him gives upset tummy to dumdum lesbos, the more me get high opinion of He-man Trump. Yee haw!

The more he pisses off idiot liberals, the more I like him!

I'm independent/moderate, and he still pisses me off. Everyone is entitled to their own political views, but if an idiot get's elected from a majority of self-righteous small minded goons, our country suffers. Some folks just can't seem to get beyond being political zealots regardless of if they're ultra left or right.

Watching this whole circus sideshow from Canada, I feel sorry for all US citizens who, unlike me, are exposed to the seriousness of this sanctimonious rube.

“We believe Trump is a grave threat to democracy, freedom, human rights, equality and the welfare of our country and all our people,” the campaign said.

“History has shown us what happens when people refuse to stand against hate-filled leaders. We pledge ourselves to speak out in every way possible against the politics of hate and exclusion he represents.”

Well, a threat to Democracy? What Donald Trump represents is a grave threat to the ordinary citizen.

It's nice the wealthy and well educated have taken the time to say so. So far, the ignorant and vapid luxury of hate has been the bloody stump Trump's campaign brazenly shaken in the face of anyone who cares to look..

Trump's band of racists and bigots will work to harm the innocent "other". Basically, whomever Trump proclaims a "dirty, dirty person". These are the simple facts. Trump has encouraged tacit racism and pandered a false belief as his religion.

And the American hot dog cart Trump fan imagines chanting racism and bigotry is making "America Great Again"?

Comically stupid people certainly provide plenty of copy but a celebrity roast of the bumbling Donald Trump, and now "Chatty Cathy" doll, Sarah Palin, can't last more than a week.

All's that's accomplished is giving the bigot another stage to call everyone losers from and have his goons beat them on the way out of another WWF cage match with Trump and Stupid in a tag team with Reality and Good Sense.

Oh, but we're all safer with a 74 year old Bolshevik or a known habitual liar in the White House?? I doubt it!

I'm independent/moderate,

Huh???

and he still pisses me off. Everyone is entitled to their own political views, but if an idiot get's elected from a majority of self-righteous small minded goons, our country suffers.

We're already suffering and suffering like never before and where is your outrage about that?

Some folks just can't seem to get beyond being political zealots regardless of if they're ultra left or right.

So who would be a better candidate? And please don't say Clinton or Sanders, I'm talking about a decent candidate.

Well, a threat to Democracy? What Donald Trump represents is a grave threat to the ordinary citizen.

If that's true, then that means, we are doomed again. 7 years of the tyrant Obama and possibly a Trump presidency...good lord.

It's nice the wealthy and well educated have taken the time to say so. So far, the ignorant and vapid luxury of hate has been the bloody stump Trump's campaign brazenly shaken in the face of anyone who cares to look..

As opposed to the lazy and takers of people that EXPECT FREE stuff?

Trump's band of racists and bigots will work to harm the innocent "other". Basically, whomever Trump proclaims a "dirty, dirty person".

How is Trump a racist?

These are the simple facts. Trump has encouraged tacit racism and pandered a false belief as his religion.

Prove it. I would submit to you, liberals pushing government dependency on people, especially minorities is extremely racist.

And the American hot dog cart Trump fan imagines chanting racism and bigotry is making "America Great Again"?

Wanting America "Great" again is racist??? So what should we yearn for? More Failure?

Comically stupid people certainly provide plenty of copy but a celebrity roast of the bumbling Donald Trump, and now "Chatty Cathy" doll, Sarah Palin, can't last more than a week.

No, it just scares liberals that now a lot of celebs back a conservative (if you want to call him that) and not Clinton or Sanders this election cycle. That is a real sobering reality that libs hate.

All's that's accomplished is giving the bigot another stage to call everyone losers from and have his goons beat them on the way out of another WWF cage match with Trump and Stupid in a tag team with Reality and Good Sense.

No, different than Obama with his conceded self looking down on anyone that is against him or has a different opinion. The shoe is on the other foot and it doesn't feel good, welcome to my world.

The face of the modern Republican party.

Of self-reliance and pride, it sure is.

From the gib of a conservative, Trump is a clown and in no way a true constitutional conservative. Now that Cruz is putting pressure on him, his true colors are starting to show. The birther argument, character assassinations, and attacking legit bank loans indicate panic and are attacks straight out of the Alinksy playbook. If Trump is a comfortable in his positions as he claims, he would argue real, substantive issues and there would be no reason to assault Cruz with liberal talking points. My assumption is Trump will start to fade quickly now that voters realize the lack of substance in his rhetoric.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

My assumption is Trump will start to fade quickly now that voters realize the lack of substance in his rhetoric

Then you would be wrong. Trump will fade whenever he starts sounding like a typical ass-kissing politician. I am glad to see Sanders has over-taken Hillary in Iowa in CNN's latest poll.

Which he now is. For evidence, read the entirety of my post.

We're already suffering and suffering like never before and where is your outrage about that?

Really? Define suffering in your opinion. I call suffering not having a job, being practically forced in to homelessness regardless of how educated and hardworking you are. And then being told I should be able to make it regardless... That was Bush's era when the republican's had all the power... And pretty much crapped on society.

If you've still got a stable job and are earning a nice chunk of cash after taxes, and can still live comfortably, then you're not suffering It's called not knowing how to be happy with what you have. People have got to learn that one simple thing. But some still can't wrap their heads around it because they've been too spoiled by making "the big cash money wad", that they believe if things change from them making a ton of money like they used to, they can't make it. It's called self-delusion.

I just read an article about how some people "think" they're not making enough money, not comprehending that in certain income brackets they are actually making quite enough, but foolishly spending so much of it they're living from paycheck to paycheck. Doesn't matter if someone is middle-class, upper middle class, or wealthy it's all in how a person sets their own personal living standard.

Trumps living standard is quite high, there is no way in hell he can understand how it would work for people with drastically lower incomes than his. And unfortunately the majority of the Republican party is coming from the same PoV as him.

Numerous Republicans joined Trump’s efforts to scatter doubts about Cruz’s eligibility for the presidency. Republicans really dislike Cruz and not entirely without reason. Cruz has sneakily exploited the base’s ignorance to his own political benefit, at the cost of the party’s ability to safeguard its own interests. In particular, Cruz takes advantage of Republican voters’ inability to understand why Republican control of Congress does not give the party the power to enact its agenda. Cruz blames fellow Republicans for results that are the Constitution’s fault. The fact that Cruz is smart enough to know this only makes him more irritating.

@kcjapan,

So what you are saying is that there is no illegal immigration problem, terrorism is no concern, the debt is ok, infrastructure is in tip-top condition, great jobs all around ( including recent graduates), Trade is ok, Manufacturing is doing great (the backbone of America), healthcare-perfect, and the African American citizens are just fine??????? You should stop with the personal feelings blanket statements and look at the platform. Left wing wittiness just doesn`t work.

@RickDaHo,

Define constitutional conservative??? Theres one meaning? Hes a Republican and there is no law stating that a Republican must be a the conservative you are talking about. He wants to fix the country, not good enough?

Hollywood is mostly Left-Wing and they speak out simply because it is accepted and it gets them attention. A non left winger would be destroyed in the media for such behaviour.

@ sfjp300

Numerous Republicans joined Trump’s efforts to scatter doubts about Cruz’s eligibility for the presidency.

Exactly. Thanks for proving my point. Trump has joined to establishment in attacking the true anti-establishment candidate. I thought Trump was the true antiestablishment guy. Apparently, he isn't. Trump is better off sticking to the important issues rather than pulling out weak character assassinations that don't really hold up.

Cruz has sneakily exploited the base’s ignorance to his own political benefit, at the cost of the party’s ability to safeguard its own interests

How so? And how is this different from what any other politician does? Besides that, Cruz doesn't align himself with the establishment's interests and feels GOP has taken a turn for the worst. So do millions of Americans. I am one of them.

Cruz takes advantage of Republican voters’ inability to understand why Republican control of Congress does not give the party the power to enact its agenda

How so? And this doesn't make much sense to me. Clarify.

Cruz blames fellow Republicans for results that are the Constitution’s fault

How so? And, how can the constitution and rule of law be blamed on Republicans and what is he blaming them for? This statement, like much of what you say, doesn't make any sense.

@ pointofview

Define constitutional conservative??? Theres one meaning?

A constitutional conservative is an individual who believes in the rule of law as defined by the constitution. Said individuals don't view the constitution as a living, breathing document and the laws it outlines can be changed or reinterpreted through "haste, inadvertence, or design" (A. Hamilton, Fed. 73). Yes, that is the only meaning I am aware of. If you know of another, I'm willing to learn.

Hes a Republican and there is no law stating that a Republican must be a the conservative you are talking about.

True, but I'm not willing to throw weight behind or cast my vote for just any republican. The republican establishment is a very large part of the problem, in my humble opinion. Trump has made his case as an anti-establishment candidate and labeled himself a constitutional conservative, yet now he is making establishment arguments because Cruz is nipping at his heels. Moreover, he is using liberal argument and using well-known liberal scholars to back them up. He tone his changing, he is attacking from the left. Which, in my view, makes him inconsistent and no better than the establishment he claims to loathe. For years Trump was an open New York liberal and expressed his views on abortion, same-sex marriage, imminent domain, the 2nd amendment and host of other issues that are not consistent with the constitution or conservatism. Trump now says he's changed. That's fine hope he has. But I'm not yet convinced. If you disagree and want to convince me, I'm willing to learn.

He wants to fix the country, not good enough?

Nope. Not good enough. All politicians, or anyone running for office, claim to want to "fix the country"? Their ideas and methods for accomplishing their stated goal is what matters. What are Trump's plans for to "fix the country"? Trump: "I'm a billionaire. I own a great company. Everyone loves me. I make deals. Washington makes bad deals. I'll fix Washington by making great deals." OK. Fair enough. But what kind of deals, and deals with whom? Deals with McDonnell and the establishment RINO's? Deals with the Democrats? And how will said deals make "America great again"? Moreover, there are a number of other stated goals on Trump's agenda that he has yet to definitively define. I happen to agree with much of what Trump says (if he indeed means what he says). But I want to hear how he intends to accomplish "making America great again." I'm bored with the nariccism and empty rhetoric. If you have answers to these questions, I'm willing to learn.

Additionally, his grandstanding for ethanol subsidies make him a crony capitalist. He can't be bought? Yet, he is grandstanding for the ethanol industry? Where will his contradictions end? We need less crony capitalists, not more. If you have evidence to the contrary, I'm willing to learn.

Hollywood is mostly Left-Wing and they speak out simply because it is accepted and it gets them attention. A non left winger would be destroyed in the media for such behaviour.

No dispute here. And, personally, I could care less what any Hollywood-lib has to say about anything.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Left wing wittiness just doesn`t work.

No. A cure is coming for all of America's problems. Did you mean Trump? Hahahahahah :-)

@RickDaHo

The GOP insiders support Trump over Cruz despite the damage Trump could do the party. The "Establishment" doesn't actually care about the ideology that much, and Cruz's libertarianism threatens federal subsidies and protections for big businesses while exposing the party's crazed positions on social issues. He's a risk to profits and electoral wins. Whatever Trump's "more leftist" leanings might be, he's not going to harm fellow business interests.

Again, exactly. Are you trying to debate or prove my points for me? I agree, and that is why I don't support Trump. He is a fake, he supports big business and crony capitalism, he speaks in generalizations and empty rhetoric, and I have a hunch he is a closet liberal. One doesn't makes such dramatic changes in their political positions overnight. The mere fact that he is now resorting to personal attacks on his biggest threat proves he has no ability and/or willingness to debate the substantive issues. Alinksy 101. I support Cruz precisely because of his conservative ideology and the threat he poses to the GOP establishment and crony captialist. Specifically, this:

Cruz's libertarianism threatens federal subsidies and protections for big businesses while exposing the party's crazed positions on social issues.

So, thanks...I guess.

@RickDaHo,

Cruz is like a fundamentalist Conservative. That being said he voted for TTP, likes the big banks and big oil, and really has no track record with building jobs and negotiating fair deals. Who cares if Trump isnt hard core??? look at the issues separately. Cant lump it all together. Trump is very conservative on sovereignty, wasting money, security and getting good jobs back. Good enough for millions and millions of voters. Don`t fix the money problem and nothing will change.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Cruz is like a fundamentalist Conservative.

I prefer principled conservative. But, have it your way.

he voted for TTP

Actually, no he hasn't. How do I know? Because congress hasn't voted and even scheduled a vote yet! Anyway, so Cruz supports it. TPP is about free trade, isn't that what you crony capitalist supporters are all about? Besides that, Trump's disagreement with TPP are factually incorrect and designed to fool uninformed voters. Example, his disagrees with TPP because it somehow favors China. Yet, China isn't part of TPP. Moreover, TPP reduces tariffs from countries that directly compete with China! How does that favor China?! Indeed, China is opposed to TPP because it knows the deal it aimed at hurting it economically.

Trump doesn't even know what he's talking about (and based on your factual inaccuracies, neither do you). More empty rhetoric intended to pander to the drones.

Who cares if Trump isnt hard core??

I do. And so do millions of voters

Cant lump it all together.

Actually, you can. I do. And so do millions of voters.

Trump is very conservative on sovereignty, wasting money, security and getting good jobs back

Well, he claims to be. And I would be more supportive he if laid off the personal attacks and Alinsky tactics and gave specifics on how he will address immigration (building a wall and having Mexico pay for it isn' a real solution, and we all know it), fiscal debt, unfunded liabilities, and the like. Yet, he doesn't because he speaks in generalizations and empty rhetoric, which intended to pander to the uninformed drones.

Good enough for millions and millions of voters.

So is Cruz. With more and more flocking towards him everyday because they are realizing Trump is full of ....

This is fun.

@RickDaHo,

Actually, Trump is gaining. Look at the new Iowa poll from CNN.

TPP isnt good if theres an imbalance. losing on trade with numerous countries isn`t good now is it?

I wondering how you know what you are talking about but Trump doesnt. Whos the billionaire that created tens of thousands of jobs? Not you eh?

Have to disagree with you about issues. Anyone lumping all issues together just to be defined as a true conservative is unwilling to meet in the middle, find commonalities, narrow minded and unable to look at issues based on importance. I know abortion is important for many but without a robust economy and strong employment nothing else matters. The mighty dollar has to pay for everything.

Not sure how all the critics no the answers to the border problem and Trump doesnt. Politicians dilly dally too much. Time for a change. If Trump ends up becoming Pres and hes horrible then people should speak out. That`s all we can say about any leader.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Look at the new Iowa poll from CNN.

Polls mean nothing to me. We will see who shows up to the booths when it matters.

TPP isnt good if theres an imbalance. losing on trade with numerous countries isn`t good now is it?

What imbalance are you referring to? Claiming it's so, doesn't necessarily make it so.

I wondering how you know what you are talking about but Trump doesn't.

Because I conduct research and stay informed. When it comes to TPP, Trump doesn't know what he is talking about. As I have already proved. Evidence to the contrary? Bring it.

Whos the billionaire that created tens of thousands of jobs? Not you eh?

This is bit of a cheap shot and straw man, but I'll play along. Actually, I am a business owner that has created a good number of jobs in the private sector. Now, I'll admit it isn't thousands. Then again, my wife and I started with nothing and didn't inherit a fortune to work with, now did we? Eh? And I have never argued that Trump isn't a phenomenal business man. He is, no doubt. But that doesn't mean he will make a good president and commander in chief.

Anyone lumping all issues together just to be defined as a true conservative is unwilling to meet in the middle, find commonalities, narrow minded and unable to look at issues based on importance.

This is fair point. But just because a person has solid, well-defined principles doesn't mean that can't or won't meet in the middle. I'm a business man. I make deals everyday. I compromise and meet in the middle all the time. However, I'm not a politician and Washington is a freaking mess because there are too may people pandering and not standing on principle. Too many weak-willed politicians chasing power and cash, saying one thing and doing another. They are supposed to represent the people, not their own interests. Saying, "we have to make deals and meet in the middle" doesn't mean a damn thing is you don't stand by your principles. Based on Trumps actions over the past few weeks, I think we can expect more of the same from him. He's all over the place, making personal attacks that won't never hold up, and not debating the substance. Cruz has principles and he acts on them. I don't agree with him a 100%, but at least I can't trust he will stand up to the special interests and the phony establishment. This is my opinion. I seriously doubt you'll convince me otherwise.

without a robust economy and strong employment nothing else matters. The mighty dollar has to pay for everything.

Agreed. 100%. But isn't just about abortion or gun rights or any other tag line. Its about constitutionalism and returning the power to the States, limiting the size and scope of the central government and returning individual freedom and property rights. Conservatism is all about these things, and if we bring back limited government and put a stop to the endless regulations that stifle innovation and growth, and put the power back in the hands of the people where it belongs, the economy will boon once again. But, again, I'm not convinced Trump is the man for the job. He is good for the private sector, but the international political economy is whole other animal. Like you said, we will see.

Black SabbathJAN. 22, 2016 - 02:54AM JST The more he pisses off idiot liberals, the more I like him!

The face of the modern Republican Party!

Nope. I am a Reagan Republican - and I long for those days when America was great with him at the helm. But America has turned into a giant, steaming, pile of dung thanks to the radical liberalism that infests it like dysentery. I'm so happy that I do not live there anymore, but it still hurts me to see it continuously torn apart by selfish, angry liberals only looking out for what's best for themselves rather than what's best for the country.

I'd be happy to meet you in person sometime to discuss this further.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

@RickDaHo,

Trump wants limited government. He does however state that Immigration/Sovereignty, Income tax, Trade Deals and Defense are the Feds responsibility, which they are. Ted Cruz (who was a Canadian Citizen while a US Senator-incredible!) will simply go on about the constitution all the time. Sorry, people need half decent jobs no time for endless debating. Cruz can really only debate his life away nothing else.
