So they're using a tactic that they used before which resulted in the creation of ISIS, to fight ISIS.....

It seems that the US can't stay away from the war there. If US dispatched ground forces, it would be the longest war and more soldiers would die there..

And the US industrial war machine gathers pace again, of course at the expense of the taxpayers dollar and the lives of military personnel. It was only last week that 2500 military humvees plus other military hardware had been abandoned by Iraqis. The middle east conflicts are something the west should never have got involved in. The region is based on religious and tribal customs that have been in conflict for hundreds of years, and will continue to exist for hundreds of years more.

Good old America gonna fight the fire by adding fuel to the flames.

The U.K. has the Official Monster Looney Party while the USA has ...well both the main parties are so far to the right of common sense that we no longer should be surprised when they start to shovel cash and military into every conflagration and pile bad decision on top of bad decision .....make matters worse than before and expect to be considered the world leader.....then are shocked we are mad the next time they interfere when they were not asked and were not wanted.....

Just exactly which official of the Iraqi government was it that said please send more troops?

I think we were done with all this!! There was no one around 10000 years ago when these wars were going on to help another country. Let's just be done with this!

Pentagon has relied heavily on an air campaign that U.S. officials say has killed thousands of Islamic State fighters and eroded their capability.

Not really. IS is capable of swift and overwhelming offensive skirmishes. An air campaign has limits. It takes boots on the ground with superior firepower along with tactfully coordinated command/control to counter IS. An air campaign can't destroy enemy morale.

the Neverending story.

Déjà vu? Obama is a real socialist as he believes that if one has to do the same thing over and over again every time it fails and eventually it will work.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

I suppose only benefit will be to act as a focus for attacks by local loonies and so draw pressure from Iraqi Army and civilians.

Obama is a real socialist as he believes that if one has to do the same thing over and over again every time it fails and eventually it will work.

Not sure how that is related to socialism... Einstein I believe did say however that repeating the same mistake over and over again and expecting a different result was a form of insanity...

This reminds me of people trying to communicate with someone who doesn't understand the language being used and shouting louder in the hope they'll understand it.

Obama admitted of having no real plan to deal with ISIS and reluctant on every front, and it is irresponsible to send 450 soldiers into Iraq. ISIS must be contained and confronted, for Obama has been avoided to deal with of all this time. He rather plays golf or campaigns on the road surrounded by his bots. Packing out and now slowly going back?? Shame.

$9 million/day, $2.7 billion overall to fight the infidels.

Why not let the Middle East sort out this problem themselves, and put this money towards helping their own people to live (Obamacare), instead of putting it towards killing infidels? Anyone who is pro-ISIS fighting and anti-Obamacare has some seriously messed up priorities.

'If US dispatched ground forces, it would be the longest war and more soldiers would die there..'

Oh, don't be such a killjoy. Soldiers turned into flying mince by homemade bombs or having limbs blown off in an unwinnable mess isn't what the right want to hear. The US needs to go in there with both barrels, sort out these jihadis and make America safe....again.

There's a reason we call them War Pigs. They will keep consuming everything until nothing is left.

Yup, but you do whatever it takes to neutralize the problem.

Why not let the Middle East sort out this problem themselves, and put this money towards helping their own people to live (Obamacare),

We are already struggling to fix that, since it's such a mess now.

instead of putting it towards killing infidels?

So in other words, let them run wild and attack at any given time and plan even more attacks on our soil.

Anyone who is pro-ISIS fighting and anti-Obamacare has some seriously messed up priorities.

I feel the exact opposite.

Oh, don't be such a killjoy. Soldiers turned into flying mince by homemade bombs or having limbs blown off in an unwinnable mess isn't what the right want to hear. The US needs to go in there with both barrels, sort out these jihadis and make America safe....again.

I completely agree!!

There's a reason we call them War Pigs. They will keep consuming everything until nothing is left.

So that means more and more Dems as well since now many are on board with the GOP.

Since when? Oh... the fake 911 attacks?

I'm sure you'll be able to tune into Fox in the future and not see soldiers become flying mince and others lose limbs. You might be able to enjoy footage of really cool military technology taking out whoever is the bogeyman at the time and watch the excited chimps shrieking in delight.

Try to wean yourself off guns and death. It's not healthy. If you can't, get yourself a playstation and you can play at being a war hero.

Yeah, it seems other countries haven't stepped up to help fight IS.

Jim, no matter how you hate on Fox, they ain't going anywhere, no matter what you progressives say. Their numbers are growing, you even have more libs watching it to cut through the mustard of one-sided crap that's out there, just deal with it, the president at least tries to.

No, I just feel content when we can eliminate as many of the radical jihadists as we can.

That's ok, not a game guy I prefer to use the real stuff.

The average age of Fox News viewers is 68. For Bill O'Reilly, it's 73. Not much time left...

If that were even remotely close to the truth. But nice try...

All of them probably living longer thanks to the Obamacare they've spent years protesting...

So that's why it's in the courts right now? You have 57% of Americans that absolutely hate it, hate the high cost of premiums and hassles and it's getting worse, NO thanks to Obama.

I know. The intelligent rightists like Murdoch wouldn't watch it as they know they are flogging a tabloid, in this case a tabloid on air, but it stirs up anti-Obama feelings, plays to religious paranoia and attempts to convince idiots that the GOP has the interests of ordinary people at heart. It's a dumbed-down Sun. Murdoch is predictable but he knows what sells. It doesn't cut through any crap - it throws idiotic right wing crap at others throwing idiotic left wing crap in a childish slanging match with zero real substance.

'That's ok, not a game guy I prefer to use the real stuff.'

Shooting at a target or at a deer isn't going to get you a Purple Heart. Soldiers fight but putting them in yet another unwinnable conflict of choice is a moral disgrace. I know some have said that the US with such an enormous population has a 'plenty more where they came from' approach to dead soldiers but they are people too. Stop sacrificing people's lives in catastrophic blunders.

Keep trying, keep trying...ROFL

If they have the right amount of troops, weaponry, a real leader with a real decisive plan and a president that listens to his senior Generals, they can at least cripple and slow dramatically the advancement of the radical Islamists, but Obama's strategy of "I'll prolong this out as much as I can until my 514 in office are up and I can pass this problem along to the next president" if he could just admit that, I would have a lot more respect for him, but he's doing this Kabuki show to appease the public, because he cares so much more what the people think of him then what is actually right and the best interest for the troops and the safety of the nation. For once I just wish he would be honest, I know that's asking a lot of this guy, but we all and more importantly, the troops deserve it!

I know some have said that the US with such an enormous population has a 'plenty more where they came from' approach to dead soldiers but they are people too. Really, who specifically said that? Where is your proof?

Stop sacrificing people's lives in catastrophic blunders.

Then you really should be pissed off at Obama for doing this!

Small number of US troops will use large number of Iraqi soldiers as human shield to achieve their goal but this tactic will not win all-out war being masterminded be ISIS.
