Looks like ControlFreak missed this part:

"Mehsud, who was on U.S. most-wanted terrorist lists with a $5 million bounty, is believed to have been behind a deadly suicide attack at a CIA base in Afghanistan, a failed car bombing in New York’s Times Square and other brazen assaults in Pakistan that killed thousands of civilians and security forces...

Others in Pakistan will likely cheer Mehsud’s death because of the pain and suffering he has brought to the country....

He gained a reputation as a ruthless planner of deadly suicide attacks while serving as the Pakistani Taliban’s military chief."

Why did it take four missiles if they are really so accurate?

Maybe they did not want to take any chances.

@Jean Val-Jean

Just out of interest, how would you refer to the Taliban?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Hakimullah Mehsud was a dangerous man with a dangerous ideology. Good riddance.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

I get it, I get it! We won't kill any more terrorists then, heck, we don't want anyone hating us, sheesh!

"what you now call the terruhrists were once aligned with CIA as "Freedom Fighters" against the Soviet invaders."

You're confusing the vast majority of the mujahideen with the radical splinter group which became the Taliban.

" A third commander said the Taliban would likely choose Mehsud’s successor on Saturday."

I wonder how much the successor wants this job, knowing he may well suffer the same fate.

"Kill one, create forty more"

Jeepers creepers! Well, we won't kill any more terrorists then, lol.

@jean

Don't you get it? For every drone attack, more otherwise non-radicals become radicalized. CIA effectively causes more deep hatred of US/UN with each attack.

Well, then that will mean, more jobs to make more Tomahawks to blow this guys up. Sounds good to me. By the way, leaving them alone won't change anything either, except make us sitting ducks or embolden these guys to really strike at us. They become more radicalized, we become more resilient.

what you now call the terruhrists were once aligned with CIA as "Freedom Fighters" against the Soviet invaders. Lest you forget, bin Laden was trained by CIA, too. Ouch.

Where is OBL now? Ouch!

@control

So CIA kills, cowardly and by remote control, a Taliban leader within the borders of an allied nation while said nation was in the process of peace negotiations with said leader?

So they should have sent in SEAL Team 6 and just crawled into his mud tent and slipped a knife in his side? That would have been better? As if the Taliban would ever give up their Jihad against the west. LMAO

I think its past time the U.N. declared the CIA a terrorist organization.

Or they declare Liberals as terrorist group, come on now...

And this looks like revenge for the revenge of another killing by cowardly remote control? Can we now expect some revenge for the revenge for the revenge, perhaps in the form of another suicide bombing against CIA agents?

As long as we can keep blasting these fools, call it what you want, one less dead radical jihadist Taliban that we don't have to worry about killing innocent people. Works for me just fine.

This is like the Spy vs. Spy series in Mad magazine....except this is Mad world. This garbage has got to stop.

When, the radicals call off their stupid Jihad against the west, the drone strikes will stop as well.

The Taliban, Al Qaeda etc..are terrorists. Sorry Jean and sorry Control Freak. If you land behind enemy lines there in Pakistan, Afghanistan etc..do you think the Taliban supporters will see you and say, hey my dear welcome have some tea sit down?? Sure, then you will end up on Taliban, Al Qaeda videos, and YouTube etc..like the other poor souls who get their throats SLIT as they yell out Allah Akubar (god is great) etc...so a few drones killed this one terrorists and we should worry that the radicals in Pakistan etc..will not like the USA?? Will not love the USA?? Will, heaven forbid hate the USA more than they do Israel or India?? India is right next door to Pakistan, and you do not see any regular Indians feeling sorry for terrorist in Pakistan, who sometimes cross into India, blend in and KABOOM! Blow Hindus up, go into hotels and shoot everyone up as they did in Mumbai etc...so I hate to agree with Bassfunk, I really, really do, but George Bush Jr put it so eloquently, after 9/11 "Either you are with us, or you are against us" and Pakistan by providing shelter to Osama bin laden etc..for many years has been saying one thing out of one side of their mouth and doing the complete opposite with the other to get $$$ for the USA for their corrupt military (not that I trust Washington since it is also quite corrupt) but at least the USA is going after these Talibanis, killing them, blowing them up, before?? Yes! Before they get a chance to blow us up in shopping centers, in international airports, at sporting events etc...

Looks like we have something to do on Sunday!

Not 43? Or 36? Eh, it doesn't matter. We have enough missiles courtesy of your tax dollars.... ;)

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Good use of tax dollars. Pakistan needs to deal with the terrorist or expect us to. As long as Pakistan acts as a safe haven for terrorist, it has no sovereign rights. And if ControlFreek wants to see cowardly he should watch the videos of the taliban terrorist sawing through the necks of screaming civilians until their heads fall off. These people don't deserve any respect of humane treatment. Although, I would argue that death by missile attack is much more humane than the deaths this Hakimullah Mehsud orchestrated. Live by the sword, die by the sword. He got much better than he deserved.

Serrano, me no trust the CIA, NSA etc..but me trust the USA and pretty shiny drones blazing through the skies to help our Talibani amigos become martyrs right quick! Me no want violence, but the Taliban, Al Qaeda etc..are evil coward goons, me think better to blow them the hell up, before they come and try to take my beer away, take my MTV and other freedoms away. Heck, these Taliban idiot fools even had the bright idea of BANNING KITE FLYING!! Somehow kites, flown by little kids were disgracing god?? WTF??? They are idiot, pendejo fools and if they want to go on with their JIHAD etc..well me think the USA etc..has many more pretty shiny DRONES with the names of America's Most Wanted Jihadi terrorists written right on them, so KABOOM and may all of these terrorists BURN IN HELL!!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Whatever this guy was suspected of doing, there was no trial, there was no recourse to justice.

He and anyone who happened to be standing next to him were slaughtered in cold blood.

By some "brave" warrior in an office pushing a button!

I agree with ControlFreak, the CIA should be declared a terrorist organization.

The USA should know that the days of the cowboy, "Shoot first and ask questions after" are GONE!
