U.S. fast-food chain Chipotle asks customers to leave guns at home

Too bad Texas has such a high GDP or else the US could've sold it off to Mexico years ago.

Walking into a restaurant carrying a semi-automatic rifle, and not expecting blowback.... For the love of Pete...

A little jail time for any fool who would be so selfishly stupid as to walk into a place like a family restaurant with a weapon trying to make a "statement." The only statement made here is that the persons carrying the weapons are emotionally and intellectually struggling children.

I'm starting to think that the 2nd Amendment requiring a well regulated militia (no, not the current "a gun for anyone and everyone who wants one" bedlam), was written not to protect us from a corrupt government, but rather to protect us from our own bottomless stupidity.

The right to bear arms is not one free of the responsibilities inherent in owning a weapon, be it a gun, a knife, or a baseball bat. One of those responsibilities is to not generate a climate of fear wherever you go for no other reason than to assuage your own irrational fears. Anyone walking into a family restaurant brandishing a weapon isn't exercising responsibility. They're exercising child-like bravado and petulance, and need to be punished, as a child would, with a time out.

It's these types of 'muricans that make normal Americans feel quite uncomfortable. Reminds me of the time Obama came and visited the state and these 'muricans showed up in their cammy and their open carry "rights" around the area of the convention center he was supposed to be speaking in. Idiots in a nutshell. I don't feel safe around them. They're not official law enforcement nor federal agents. They want to open carry? Only do it on your private property or when you're out hunting in the woods, but not in public areas.

Another good thing about this is that Chipotle is privately owned. Instead of "no shoes, no shirt, no service" they need to add "guns".

The flipside is that Chiptotle could also be boycotted. I'm not a fan of overt open-carry in public places, personally, including by paramilitary police, either. I think it's unnecessarily provocative.
