Yes, we should let our people build houses closer to the other people who are shoot rockets at us.

2,100 deaths and innumerable administrative detentions later, the collective punishment continues.

I agree with conservatives and Fox News that Israel's decision to make this land grab is all because Emperor Barack Obama is ramming 'Obamacare' down our throats and running America to ruin. Oh, and because Obama started the Iraq war, and is completely responsible for the botched withdrawal from that country because George W. Bush signed off on the withdrawal strategy - but it's still ALL Obama's fault!
I'm glad I rest easy every night because Fox News tells me the Truth! Really, who needs an education when Fox News tells me everything I need to know?

@sushi
You're pretty much right on all points. :-)

The fact that you'd completely agree with an absolutely satirical post shows just how ridiculous the 'pubs have become. They are a farce, a parody of themselves.
bass4funk
No, I meant he was virtually right, behind that satirical post is the truth embedded. Which is a good thing.
SuperLib
Israel just lost my support.

And FOX news next day will say : " Hey didnt the Chinese government is doing the same thing in tibet or xinjiang, they were dumping Chinese with heavy military presence there..... Why Mr obama no protesting Beijiang 's aggressions ? Antisemitism is YOU!"
SenseNotSoCommon
Bibi's cynical strategy to weaken Fatah?

Bass - "No, I meant he was virtually right, behind that satirical post is the truth embedded. Which is a good thing."
I'm happy to see you have a sense of humor.
It would be absolutely incredible if you actually believed half the stuff you write. Thankfully, it's clear you don't.
Appreciate the laughs! :-)

I believe that you liberals live in a world of make believe. That's what I believe and to get back on track, I'm usually with Israel on most issues, but this one is a bit too abrasive and it's just going to re-ignite the conflict.
SenseNotSoCommon
Hear, hear, bass. It's screamingly obvious that Bibi, in contrast to most Israelis, doesn't want peace.

Talk about insensitive... just as it looks like the cease fire is holding, they come out with this. Are they trying to provoke another conflict with Hamas?
WilliB
Just for reference, when Israel pulled out of Gazah, they forcibly removed all Israeli citizens there and gave their land to Hamas. Did they get peace for it? No.... only more rockets and aggression.
I agree that the current move feeds into the simplistic narrative that the Arab jihad against Israel is somehow about "land". But the narrative itself is wrong. The only land deal which could satsify the Hamas/PLO is one that involves the very existance of Israel.

And Netanyayu will say no, and then wonder why they are being attacked by Palestinians, and demand more money and weapons from the US while ignoring its suggestions.

Just for historical reference, the Gaza strip attained the vast majority of its population when Israel stole lands that were part of the Arab side of the partition -- like the major city of Jaffa -- and expelled the vast majority of it residents by force. Within two weeks, Jaffa went from over 140,000 to less than 5.000. (Zionist settlers in Gaza was minuscule by comparison.)
Also, Israel did not completely pull out of Gaza; they claimed a "buffer zone" which absorbed over 10% of Gaza's available. land.
Israel didn't want peace. They just wanted the settlers out of the way so they could put the entire strip under siege and economic blockade.
Since its founding, the Zionist aim has been to wipe out the existence of Palestine. It is not going to work. The BDS movement has just been given a major assist.
afroengineer
Where are the sanctions? Oh well, never mind ..
Wolfpack
Yes we know already yabits - kill the Jews; that's all you got. You are like a broken record.

This is Israel's largest "land grab" in thirty years. And again, they will need to destroy many MORE olive groves to build these illegal settlements. Last year Israel destroyed over 7500 Palistinian olive trees, what will be the total this year? They are breaking international law and are clearly not interested in peace, now they just have to wait for Palestine to react poorly, (which they will) and then Israel can justify.
WilliB
Stuart Haywart:
How wrong can one be on how many levels? If this is the "largest land grab", it should tell you something. 50 hectares is very little; the equivalent of one small farm. And 50 hectares is a fraction of what Israel gave to Hamas when they removed all settlements in Gazah unilaterally... i.e. Hamas offered and gave nothing for it. Only victory cries and more rockets.
Next: Nothing has been "grabbed". This is unclaimed and unused land, and if muslim Arabs can prove ownership, they are invited to do so.
Next: There are not "olive groves", as any look at the photos can tell you. This is unused land.
Why do people keep falling for the Arab muslim narrative?
yabits
Zionist settlements in Gaza were illegal to begin with. They were built on stolen land. So if they make a fraction of out 50 hectares (although the article says 400), it just shows how much the Zionists are capable of stealing.
Only Israel's supporters can try to make a virtue of giving back what they stole in the first place.
Wow. Like that ever meant anything. Prove to whom? You actually believe there's an Israeli office accepting proofs of land ownership so they can put a halt to settlement building? Just how duped can some people be?
Fadamor
It never bodes well when someone starts calling someone else "wrong on so many levels". The article talks about 400 hectares, not 50. A hectare is 100 square meters, so we're dealing with 4 square kilometers of land - hardly a "small farm".
nath
Anyone that truly believes in peace should realize that you don't get there by not making even small gestures like dismantling settlements instead of adding to them. Israel will never have peace at this rate. It is a self fulfilling prophesy of theirs.
Stuart hayward
WilliB: You are 100% wrong! Lol, your only using this picture to come to your conclusion? Check the BBC link on this subject, it's a FACT that this is the largest land grab by Israel, in 30 years, plus it is NOT there land to take. This is an internationally recognized ILLEGAL action. It's also a FACT that there IS several olive groves in this section of land, also confirmed by the BBC.
