Argy-bargy ! world's super power is now engaged in arguing with childish nation? no other world commitments?

-17 ( +2 / -19 )

I'm not sure where this announcement's aim is really at: to show "assurance to our allies that they can count on us to be prepared and to help them deter conflict" or to further enrage NK.

Well, NK has been enraging enough for the whole world to focus on them before ...

2 ( +3 / -1 )

What are they going to do hold their breath until they turn blue? Commit national suicide by attacking the South? If the South can not beat this bankrupt starving country they deserve to be defeated. Let the Americans help them have no patience for the Southern faction.

-10 ( +4 / -14 )

US likely are preparing to nuke North.

-18 ( +2 / -20 )

Just to make it clear the US isn't stupid enough to use nukes. NK on the other hand... well we'll have to wait and see. All it will take is for NK to start attacking something again. If SK unfortunately gets another piece of their property attacked by NK I hope it will be the last time that SK will put up with it and everyone brings in the big guns to put down the rabid dog.

HonestDictatorMar. 29, 2013 - 08:08AM JST Just to make it clear the US isn't stupid enough to use nukes. NK on the other hand

You honestly think that if North Korea used Nukes first, the US would not?

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Don't think for a moment that there isn't a message between the lines for China as well.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

History will show that the Kim junta is one of the worst criminal cliques ever, responsible for atrocities on par with the Khmer Rouge. The genocide perpetrated against their own people and the victimization of an entire nation has gone on for far too long. While I am a pacifist, I do believe an overwhelming military intervention is necessary to put an end to this crime against humanity. Peace is a beautiful thing, but sometimes you have to fight against evil at all costs. Even the Amida Buddha has Bishamonten to wage his battles with the demons. And I am also no big fan of American capitalism and globalization or its industrial-military complex, yet diplomacy and sanctions as tools to thwart this insanity and mass murder has failed completely.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

I think NK is biting off more than they can choose. CNN just reported that some of the NK amphibious assault vehicles on the beach might have possibly have been photoshopped. NK have aging military equipment. They are taking a huge risk if they decide to go to war. Yes, they have the ground troops for sure, it's practically a military country. 1 million man army, however it seems to be seen if they are ready for military action. NK hasn't seen any since the Korean war. Whereas the US has been through a few conflicts and still is in Afghanistan. So they are ready, I personally don't think On is that stupid to start the ball rolling for a fight, but this being NK, you just never can tell.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

More sabre-rattling here. -But I want to know what the US will do if Dennis Rodman decides to visit his friend Kim Jong-Un again?

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

If the USA nukes North Korea they will be killing an untold number of Japanese. The fallout will reach the western coast of Japan within 48 hours. Fukushima is a nothing compared to this type of event. Of course it depends on the yield and ground burst, etc.

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

YuriOtaniMar. 29, 2013 - 08:41AM JST If the USA nukes North Korea they will be killing an untold number of Japanese

The US will never "nuke" another country unless the US or it's allies have been nuked first, In which case an untold number of Japanese will already have been killed by the North Koreans first.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

North Korea is really asking for it this time. I hope they are just shooting off their mouth....because when it comes to taking leaders out and bombing their infastructure...USA has plenty of Experience...

5 ( +8 / -3 )

"If the USA nukes North Korea they will be killing an untold number of Japanese. The fallout will reach the western coast of Japan within 48 hours. Fukushima is a nothing compared to this type of event. Of course it depends on the yield and ground burst, etc."

@YuriOtani:

I think you're getting a little ahead of yourself there. Quite a bit would have to happen before the U.S. would decide to nuke NK back into the stone age.

"Don't think for a moment that there isn't a message between the lines for China as well."

@Surf O'Holic:

IMO... Other than maybe "do something to reign in your little ally before they eventually get what they've been screaming for". I don't think much of a message has been sent to China at all.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

After the Vietnam war there were many US soldiers who were captured from POW camps and brought through China and into North Korea. Hundreds if not thousands of these POWs have not been rescued by the USA and remain in North Korea. Those who are still alive we do not know about.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Is it time to put an end to NK? Most of its troops are massed on its border with S. Korea, because it doesn't have enough fuel to transport them much of any distance, even within its tiny, dinky borders. Since the NK troops already are massed in one big, fat, juicy target, the US should hit'em now.

Then, free the internment camps and turn over to the former inmates of Camp 14 the leadership of NK.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

"Don't think for a moment that there isn't a message between the lines for China as well."

That is a very good point. I never really considered that, but now looking on it, you are totally right.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

NK kidnapped Japanese and no war... If they kidnap Americans as they said they are planning to do will America go to war, in effect saving Private Ryan...?

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

IF US were to respond and IF NK were to be the aggressor, Drones will precisely remove the leadership in NK.

More likely it's just the typical NK threats and no action.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

@MarkG,

Naw, drones are too antiseptic for the leadership of N. Korea. Let the former inmates of the slave labor camps decide upon what justice is due to what would remain of the NK leadership after a few weeks of 24/7 bombing.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Two things to consider here are that these long-range bombing runs are part of every joint exercise with SK, they just don't usually announce it because it reveals sensitive details. And the Kaesong complex is still operating normally, because the young Kim needs the money it brings in. All the North's bluster is just that, bluster to build up the Kim legacy. It's doubtful that an NK nuke attack will happen, and if it did, the U.S. would not use or need nukes to retaliate.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

North Korea is just shooting off its mouth, just like Japan is doing at this moment. Nothing more and nothing less.

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

@ chucky#'s: You're possibly correct, but Kim Jung-Un is quite young and impetuous, so, who knows?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Moab will be used long before any Nuclear munitions...if necessary.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

I'm wondering what will happen if NK tries something on a smaller scale, like when they sank the South Korea boat a couple of years ago, especially if it's in a way where it's can't be 100% proven to be them.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

@ SuperLib:

In that case, give to NK good-old American frontier justice: Shoot first, ask questions later.

Isn't it about time this petty childishness stopped?

I'm not just talking about NK.

China, Japan and the U.S.A. are all just as bad.

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

Puff, puff, does the turkey. Chest out, tail display, and in the sight. Why does NK want to annihilate Kim's only child? It is a bluff (rhyme intended.) Look up, look around, and hide. It will be the last thing they see if the world leaders allow NK to attack. It is so sad.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

toguro, my point is the USA can not use nukes on North Korea. They have maybe a couple of low yield devices. Probably big bulky and hard to deliver. My guess is they would be used against US Bases inside South Korea. Then what? nuking the North Koreans is not even in the play book. As the upper level winds will bring it straight to Japan. Now the USA can beat North Korea without using nukes. My main point is all of this talk of nuking North Korea is just talk. The very weapons to destroy North Korea can not be used without killing millions of Japanese and making a large part of Japan uninhabitable. I bring this up because the B2 demonstration flight is meaningless gesture.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

It's probably time to show the fat leader what the cicilized part of the world means when they say stop! The U.S. and Korea should give NK a short burst and a taste of what kind of military powere they are dealing with. Then reiterate the phrase, "Stop with the saber rattling and come to the table clean so we can give you the aid that you need."

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

This is the problem with North Korea ratcheting up the rhetoric - eventually the US have to make a response, which they have in what I think is quite a sensible and realistic way, and NK will jump on this as further 'proof' of their intentions.

It's idiocy.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Just more posturing from NK in order to extort concessions. Most likely, what is highest on their list are unimpeded rocket technology sales to Iran. It is safe to predict that the Obama admin will be first to cave and accommodate Kim Yong Un.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Too bad Peter Sellers is dead. He's be wonderful in a 2013 remake of "The Mouse That Roared."

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Quite amusing really. NK attacks anything with a american flag attached to it and they are history. Little fat boy leader rattling his chop sticks probably does not realise that the rest of the world thinks he is a buffoon. I think this clown really belives he is a world player. It's comical. Poverised country with some arms built on the back of the people starving. NK attacks SK or USA at 6.00 AM they are history by lunchtime. Can't see why people actually take this threat as serious.

shinhiyata | While I am a pacifist, I do believe an overwhelming military intervention is necessary ...

I have heard this before, but is it based on the assumption that it would not be a continuation of the Korean war with China backing up the North? It happened before; this discussion is incomplete without considering the implications of historical background.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

"my point is the USA can not use nukes on North Korea."

This is incorrect. American doctrine has always been that the South lies under the nuclear umbrella. The United States belatedly realized that not covering the south may have had a detrimental effect in encouraging DPRK hostilities in 1950 and corrected it. Furthermore, The guarantee of nuclear retaliation was one of the tools the U.S. used (in addition to not withdrawling U.S. troops in the Carter administration) to keep the South from developing its own nuclear program.

(Incidentally, the Washington Post has an interesting article that states that the message of the B-2s was directed as much at the South as at the North. There is a small but growing slice of the population in the South that doubts the umbrella and wants to develop an indigenous nuclear program. The flights were meant to reiterate U.S. commitment to turn the North into a parking lot should the need arise.)

The United States has a variety of weapons with various yields and blast effects from air-burst (not so good for Japan) to subterranian (Not so good for the KWP). I am sure that people smarter than me (and that is not raising the bar very high) are thinking about fallout effects in both Japan and in the South, but make no mistake, the U.S. will absolutely retaliate with nuclear ordinance in the event of a WMD (including chemical or biological) attack on it or its allies.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

As China's star rises, so does NK's. NK (the govt I mean) need no longer concern itself with the effects of western embargoes. Anyone wishing to improve the lives of NKans, should first wish the US never sells another dollar of US govt bonds to China.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Craig, I think the current implications are more important for China. Considering the DPRK has the largest biological and chemical weapons arsenal on the planet, and has reportedly weaponized the smallpox and Spanish influenza viruses for terror attacks against the west, and considering 400 million Chinese were born after 1970 and not vaccinated for smallpox, it would behoove Beijing not to send their troops across the Yalu like they did before.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

SK news sources report that NK has assured China recently that there will be no war, and asked the Chinese government to send more flights with more tourists please. (sources: Korean Herald and Chosun Ilbo)

From this the conclusion is that all that rhetoric was for NK domestic consumption.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

" While North Korea has no proven ability to conduct such strikes, Kim argued that the stealth bomber flights went beyond a simple demonstration of force and amounted to a U.S. “ultimatum that they will ignite a nuclear war at any cost.”"

Kim may be blowing hot air, but it would be foolish to completely discount his bellicosity, particularly with his disdain for USG. Lessons of history are costly especially in terms of human lives lost at the press of a figurative button.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The cheese has definitely slipped off the cracker of Kim Jong-Un.

The disclosure f the B-2s is far from meaningless, North Korea has and continues to have a fixation on "Nuclear War". They need to be aware that we have the ability to bring it to their front door. It's all a show, because in truth we can "nuke" North Korea from subs as well. Furthermore, as some posters have pointed out, the U.S. does not need to resort to nuclear weapons to subdue North Korea. But it is important that North Korea accept that all their Nuclear Offensive talk can bring massive retaliation. And, as other posters have pointed out, it sends a message to China; Do you really want the South Korean border right up against yours? How do you feel about US bases in the northern half of the peninsula? Hopefully that will increase China's incentive to pull North Korea's leash. Finally, you seem to have ignored my answer to you that the US wouldnever use Nukes unless North Korea uses them first, in which case countless Japanese would die. Why are you still harping on the U.S. when we are doing everything to keep North Korea from ding so?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

YuriOtani: "If the USA nukes North Korea they will be killing an untold number of Japanese. The fallout will reach the western coast of Japan within 48 hours. Fukushima is a nothing compared to this type of event. "

You do of course realize that North Korea exists as a RESULT of Japan, do you not? And once again I see you're calling Japan one nation united instead of saying "the people of Okinawa!". And I notice you're not complaining about American bases for a change.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

The US is acting like bullies

... lol that is a hilarious statement. Lets look at the facts shall we. NK has been blustering and blowing the past few weeks because of tougher sanctions being placed on them because they refuse to do what is asked of them regarding their nuclear weapons program. A program that is funded by money from those they intend to kill and money that is supposed to be used to feed their starving people that they Jong's regime caused. The US and South Korea conduct military exercises annually and publicly to prepare for the day when the lunatic across the northern border makes good of the crap they have been sowing. NK is directly and deliberately threatening the US, South Korea, Japan etc..because they have been "provoked" in reality because they are spoiled brats that the world has put up with much longer than they should have because of China's intervention in the Korean War that caused the predicament that the peninsula is in now. The US has been extremely measured in their response or rather ignoring of the BS the north has been spewing. When the cards are laid down the north either needs to make good on their BS or shut up and stay shut up. If the try to make good, It is the end for them. If they shut up and cool down this same situation will occur again at a later date. The problem is that if Un doesn't make good on his threats this time he looks like a fool to his own people and to the whole world, though they will spin it in such a way that makes him look like a hero at home. The situation is dangerous now more than it has been in a while but it is not reached the point of no return yet. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail. Lets just not forget what history has taught us about giving into the demands of lunatic like Un.

Complete nonsense, but often repeated by Anti-J Koreans. North Korea, and the division of the peninsula exists as a result of the USSR. If the US had it's way ROK (South Korea) would have run right up to the Chinese border. How people can argue that a country that was defeated, lost control of Korea in 1945 could be responsible for the creation of a country in 1951 is unfathomable,

NK's nuclear program needs to be taken out. What better way than to let NK ramp up the rhetoric and keep calling its bluff. Then, when it attacks the USA or South Korea, deliver a strike right to the heart of its nuke program and obliterate it. That'll put it back years and the whole region will be a safer place (you know NK has way overstepped the mark when even China is agreeing to the sanctions). Smart move from the USA.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Scott Snyder, director of the program on U.S.-Korean policy at the Council on Foreign Relations, says the B-2 flights Thursday and B-52 bomber flights last week from Guam also send a signal to China, North Korea's primary ally and sponsor.

"The message to China is that a nuclear North Korea carries with it tangible costs as far as China's regional stability, that this is a problem we can't just let sit and that needs to be addressed and resolved," Snyder said.

The Soviets got a message some decades ago.

I do not believe that China holds any sway at all over N. Korea and if it did, and if I were a negotiator for the USA, I would not once bring China to the table regarding N. Korea. By including China at all it gives China a bargaining Chip for it to gain concessions on other issues. I believe all news about N. Korea's aggressive statements should be totally snuffed by the Media. I know this is Media manipulation but N. Korea seems to love Headlines and those are their Weapons as much as their physical one's. Although that said, S. Korea, and rightfully so, is numb by this time to N. Korea's harsh words.... their Stock Market is at all time highs despite.

Because NK is bullying Japan and South Korea and threatening the US, that would be more than enough reason.

Not really helping as we are seeing. I think they should do MORE personally, but that is just MY opinion.

Push it into the corner and as soon as they make any kind of move, liberate the bejeesus out of them like they did to Iraq.

I don't know how you equate Iraq with NK. Two totally different countries, different scenarios.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Bass4funk,

Because NK is bullying Japan and South Korea and threatening the US

Definition of "bully":

To use superior strength or influence to intimidate a person or persons, typically to force them to do what one wants: a local man was bullied into helping them.

Are you telling us that tiny, minuscule, microbial impoverished North Korea is bullying Japan, South Korea and threatening the US?

Aw, diddums . . .

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Also, as to whether the crap regime in NK will go away or not.

Of course, I don't KNOW, Bass4funk. On this site we express our opinions, right?

Personally, I don't think it will last long.

But, given their current behaviour, I don't think Japan, South Korea and the U.S.A. have got long either.

And I'm not equating NK with Iraq, but what the U.S.A. did to Iraq and what it appears to be doing to NK.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

@bertie

Thank, I am quite aware of what the word: bully means.

Are you telling us that tiny, minuscule, microbial impoverished North Korea is bullying Japan, South Korea and threatening the US?

Yup, and even if they use outdated Soviet technology and fire these rockets, they can still cause considerable amounts of damage. Ask the Israelis, they know a thing or two about rocket attacks. Plus, with a million man army that alone is enough stage a massive ground offensive and can do a lot of carnage and especially with what they have been indoctrinated, they would pose a overly serious threat to the region. Yes, even that little country.

Of course, I don't KNOW, Bass4funk. On this site we express our opinions, right?

You can express your opinions anyway you see fit. However, there is a difference between fact and fiction. Fact is, NK posses a very serious threat, If you have 3 countries united in this assessment, then there is more than credible evidence for having these concerns, add to that China having concerns. These are NOT opinionated POV, they are cold concrete facts.

Personally, I don't think it will last long.

Can't rule it out either. Better be safe than sorry.

But, given their current behaviour, I don't think Japan, South Korea and the U.S.A. have got long either.

On that point, you might be right.

And I'm not equating NK with Iraq, but what the U.S.A. did to Iraq and what it appears to be doing to NK.

I think you have too much bent up frustration and animosity towards the US. You need to let that go and chill. Don't get so worked up. The US will be here for a very, very long time where the world needs help (they always ask the US) that goes for Japan, South Korea, like it or not, you just got to deal with it.

Two sounds for NK. B-2. The USA, Japan and SK should publicly encourage NK to hold joint naval operations with China and/or Iran. It would be a gold mine for real "military intelligence" if such an entity really does exist.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Yawn..sigh...NK will not launch a Nuke and the US is not going to attack NK, it's all saber rattling,a political ploy. It's a well known fact should the US desire to destroy the NK military and their nuclear capabilities they could do so in a matter of hours.. Nk will never be so foolish as to kick the sleeping dog named USA, they fear and know our bite is much dangerous than our bark.. The US has so far remained tolerant of the Norths sable rattling but make no mistake, the US been using spy satellite technology to locate, keep tabs on,target, and plan for military intervention in NK for decades....We've got their number and we can take this country out of the game at anytime we feel the need to do so!

Take back what I said about the B2 flights. Did not know it could carry a 30,000 lbs bunker buster. A perfect combo for dealing with thee little mad fat man. He is just reassuring those old military officers in the photo ops they they will have jobs and be able to retire.

"Fat Man" was the codename for the atomic bomb that was detonated over Nagasaki, Japan, by the United States on August 9, 1945.

-people always want to dehumanize death and make it cartoon-ish/funny. You shouldn't do that and the results are real and destroy family and community. We are not helping the people of Korea thru these means. (I gave you a negative =your comments are too eerie)

I do not believe that China holds any sway at all over N. Korea and if it did, and if I were a negotiator for the USA, I would not once bring China to the table regarding N. Korea. By including China at all it gives China a bargaining Chip for it to gain concessions on other issues

While I agree, that China will not do the U.S. any favors, if for no other reason, than to do exactly opposite of what the U.S. wants, in order to fulfill some kind of inferiority complex, by saying, "We are a Big Country and we say NO!" Just because they can, even if it goes against their own best interests.

I think the U.S. bringing China into the picture (even if they go against the U.N.) is to get them on record, again, and again, and again, as them going against anything to stop this mad man, and it's a matter of getting them on record, enough times, until the leadership in China, finally says, Enough, is a Enough with this Rogue country... I think as soon as China tires of repeatedly going against the international community, it will finally come to the realization that N.Korea is going to drag down China, if they keep supporting it... Right now they tolerate them, as I said, going against the U.N. for no other reason, than because they can (whether it's in their best interest or not)

I also think China still wields considerable influence of the North, but as I said before, push hasn't come to shove with China yet, so they tolerate them. In case you didn't know, China has it's own mutual defense agreements with N.Korea...

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

If the USA nukes North Korea they will be killing an untold number of Japanese. The fallout will reach the western coast of Japan within 48 hours. Fukushima is a nothing compared to this type of event. Of course it depends on the yield and ground burst, etc.

Nuclear explosions typically use up most of the radioactive material -besides the energy (DNA damage) and blast the effects are far less than all the radioactive particles of Fukushima (most were blown away or washed out to sea). People that were around this Fukushima radiation will get sick and die --> that is the reality.

-not to pick on you, but I wanted to clarify for everyone.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

badsey3 this guy is threatening South Korea and America with atomic destruction. Maybe it is good to remind him, he is a target. The bunker buster is perfect since it will kill leadership and not the average Kim. As for atomics 32 detonations would make a mess. I like the ideal of taking them out in their bunkers.

Bass4funk,

Thanks for your reply. There is a lot in your post that I agree with.

I don't think we see eye to eye on the bullying bit, though.

Let's make an analogy.

NK is a flea, buzzing around an elephant's (US) head.

The flea annoys the hell out of the elephant, but there's not a hell of a lot it can do to him.

Now, that isn't bullying, is it?

Teasing yes.

But bullying?

There is now an Arsenal sitting off of South Korea in the form of long black cigar's, they are USS submaines at full alert with their finger's on the trigger, just because of all this...I don't like it, but it's true...I'm not talking about NUCLEAR weapons...but enough conventional fire power to level the north, now and forever more...Say's the RAVEN, to the SEASNAKE...The B-2's are like waving your hand over someone's face, then with out warning, you hit them with an uppercut with the other hand..."Submaine to land warfare"... It work's folk's, we all know that...I really hope this young leader is just stupid, and not really ready to have all their countrymen die for their county, The USA WILL PROVIDE THAT!!!...

@BertieWooster

It already is.

China has lent the US a TON of money!

Oh, that's a favor for the U.S...? You've got that backwards my friend... How do you think China's been building up their Military for the past 20 Years...? By selling melamine favored baby formula to Asia? Ha...

They need greenbacks, they are not yet irrelevant, yet... The U.S. would still be printing money, with or without China buying U.S. securities... It's a win - win for them, and walmart.

Chin4Sailor,

While the U.S.A. slowly bankrupts itself with its massive military build up, China is investing the money it makes, buying land here and there and accumulating gold.

The U.S.A. is going the way of the USSR, which is resembles more and more, day by day.

Do you have anything original to say...? They've been saying that for the last 30 years...

The U.S. is still, by far, the most Stable Economy and Investment, in the Civilized world.

Massive Military Buildup..? Huh..? What country are you talking about..? China? The U.S. has been downsizing for the last 10 years, aside from a couple "surges" into Iraq and Afghanistan, The U.S. Military is a fraction of what is was under Reagan, and his goal of a 600 ship Navy...

If you hate the U.S., that's Fine, good for you, your entitled to your own opinion, but not your facts... Believe me, I'm NO, flag waving, bush conservative, by any stretch of the imagination, But I will call a Spade a Spade, and if your are looking for countries to bash, there's a long line of atrocity committing, racist countries out there to be had, and they are much much higher on the list before you get to the U.S.

You are probably just one of those people that wishes he was American, but isn't, so he bashes America instead... It's ok, lot of people like you out there... But the Good thing about the U.S., I'm sure unlike your country, is that we will accept you, just like you are... We don't Discriminate...

China is not doing the U.S. any favors when they buy U.S. Treasury Bonds. China has no where else in the world where they can park money in extremely large amounts and make interest on it. The U.S. Treasury market is massive and liquid. Why do you think the Chinese are fighting tooth and nail to keep their currency weak? It is not just to keep their exports inexpensive for the rest of the world. If the dollar were to weaken by 20% versus the Yuan the Chinese would lose close to $150 billion if they were to sell their Treasury holdings and repatriate the money. Believe me... the U.S. has China over a barrel.... we have their money and we're not paying a lot of interest on it either. In addition... if the Chinese were to suddenly sell of their U.S. Treasury holdings then it would lower the price of the bonds themselves.

^^Exactly.^^

Regarding the DPRK's posturing, etc., the problem today is that Pyongyang has brought credibility to its nuclear weapons and ICBM programs. Pyongyang already is engaged in global criminal enterprises like counterfeit currency and methamphetines supply so going into the nuclear weapons and missiles black market would cause no hesitation for that government. Besides, Pyongyang and Tehran have been friendlies in the missiles development field for a long time now. No reason to believe that NK won't send Iran its secrets in nuclear weaponry.

So nuclear proliferation is an issue, especially amongst the so-called "rogue" states and other elements that have hostile ambitions against the developed economies.

LH10, I never thought I would see WWIII in my lifetime. I live in the suburbs of Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A. my neighborhood is in NK's line of fire... Looks like America is temporarily screwed.

Every spring for over 30 years the USA and South Korea have held joint exercises in South Korea. Every year North Korea threatens war when they do. The thing is... since North Korea does not have an ally what they end up doing is yearly rallying their people for the ultimate struggle against the big bad USA and its puppet South Korea. If only China would play in the war game with North Korea then they might not have to be as vocal about things.
