Proved my point, People here always vote down the truth. @Techno, America was not an aggressor until Clinton took office. But that is history something people should study without the blinders of the education you receive in indoctrination schools. America has kept Japan safe from enemies and that is a fact. Under Obama do not expect to have any support from the military as it is not in his interest. His interest is advancing the muslim agenda. Sometimes people need to play connect the dots so they can see the picture. By the way being voted down in this place is always a pleasure and shows that I hit a nerve.

@Kent Mcgraw

America has kept you safe...

The World is greater, than your America. And millions of people consider your America as nothing short of bloody aggressor.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

This is sad, It seems that people who speak the truth are voted down. Obama was asleep and then on his way to raise funds for himself after telling Putin that after the election he would have more leeway and then reduced the American military to just bones so they can not fight nor protect any other country. people on this sight love this man who has destroyed the only country that stood for freedom and yes, Japan, America has kept you safe but it can not any longer because of the obama administration. Obama is playing golf and having a beer while Russia is making plans. If Obama says one thing you can count on it being the opposite of what is said. This post will destruct by the moderator and the government.

@super

Actually, you are the one that went off topic. I'll say this and then I'm through with it. The bill was written in part because, if a person has perhaps a conflict of interest because of his/her moral or even religious convictions why must the person be forced to make something that goes against their personal beliefs. If an African American walked into a cake shop owned by neo nazis and said, they refused to make a cake on the grounds it's against their beliefs, then the person should go somewhere else. Of course, it's foul, but why should anyone be forced to do something they don't want? So this issue is a double-wedged one. Both sides are right, you shouldn't discriminate against anyone, but at the same time, if you don't like it, go somewhere else that will except you. But yes, it was bad legislation from the start, to veto it was the right thing. I'm in the middle on this issue. Now may, I please go back to the original topic?

@Todd

Threats without being able to back it up are nothing. Obama recently came out with his plan to basically emasculate the US military, especially the Army, the one part of the military needed to conduct operations effectively in Russia, Ukraine and for that matter most of central Asia. Massive land areas require Armies to fight in, not sailors, marines and airmen.

Because Obama being the non-confrontational person that he is, as Gates said, in his book, Obama didn't even believe in the Afghanistan surge and yet, in order to look like he's not entirely a pacifist president he tried to at least wing his way through it and we're seeing that same rhetoric play out once again.

Amazing how Obama is gutting exactly what the US would need to fight in those areas involving former Soviet states and Muslim tyrannies.

Obama lacks experience, nor does he have the fortitude to keep a promise, let alone follow up on a threat, that seems one again filled with shallowness.

Anyway, Putin would not be sabre rattling if he did not think he could back it up. He either believes the US has turned into a country of soft, peace at any cost, including peace at the cost of others suffering or he believe the US has forgotten the Russians do in fact have a very substantial nuclear arsenal. And unlike the US, Putin is not going to have any problems pushing nuke buttons.

Right, and there are now reports Russian soldiers are on an invasion at Crimea and once again, Obama mentioned the same empty threat. If Putin really thought that Obsma had a little bit of clout, he might have been hesitant and from the looks of it, he's not even batting an eyelash or giving what Obama is saying any second thoughts. What would Obama do, send in a drone strike? The guy is THE worst president ever in the history of the US. 3 more years until this madness comes to an end!

Sorry, NOT gong to work. Brewer was originally going to sign a bill that was reprehensible and that even MOST Republicans didn't think it should never pass. Don't even start with Republicans hate gays

Bass, you're babbling. The bill received YES votes from all 17 Republican state senators and NO votes from all 13 Democratic senators. It was Republican legislation.

I have no earthly idea, given those facts, how you're going to actually try to distance the Republican party from this. I'm glad that you are against the bill, but my bigger question is how Republicans actually thought they had a shot at this. Out of touch, much?

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

A consequence of the US "pivot" is its new lack of interest in European affairs. But from even before that, the Defense Dept. has been irritated for years that Europe depended on the US for its security, cutting their collective military budgets until the US presence accounted for more than 75% of European defense spending, with Britain and France making up the majority of the rest.

All the recent conflicts in Eastern Europe and North Africa, from Georgia onwards, have been failures because Europe can't put together a decent sized military force, and Libya was only a tactical success because of US intervention.

All this Putin knows, and has used it to his advantage time and time again. As more and more US assets are transferred to the Pacific, Europe will either have to make up for the shortfall on their own, or accept being impotent to Russian hegemony.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The US military is exhausted from being in the Middle East for more than a decade. All the US government can do is issue empty threats. As an American I believe it's in our best interests to stay out of this mess.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

@Super

Sorry, NOT gong to work. Brewer was originally going to sign a bill that was reprehensible and that even MOST Republicans didn't think it should never pass. Don't even start with Republicans hate gays, NO one is listening to that garbage! It was bad legislation from the start, maybe the much older generation would have been for it, but for the average conservative, NO. We don't care what gays do, it's their business, they can do as they please. I'm from Long Beach, we have one of the largest Lesbian Community in the state. We have a local gay parade and lots of conservatives and liberals living together, everyone gets along fine. So much for that deflated argument. She vetoed the bill and rightfully so. Having said that, I don't think ANY business should be forced to do business with anyone if it conflicts with their religious or moral convictions. But these establishments shouldn't discriminate against anyone because of their sexual orientation.

It also makes you wonder how NO ONE is paying attention anymore to the Liberal echo chamber.

3 more years until the madness ends.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Sorry, bass. I just haven't been following this story as much as I should be. I live in Arizona and we've had quite a bit of press about the new anti-gay (oops....I mean "religious freedom") law that Republicans have passed here. It's been a bit of a circus. Apparently, state Republican senators, firmly within their bubble, actually voted for this turd of a legislation. And now they are shocked (SHOCKED!) that there has been outrage from all corners of the state as well as the nation. Even the NFL and Intel have come out and said it will impact their future dealings with the state.

Honestly, I think Republicans need to send someone to a shopping mall and run legislation by passersby. Maybe someone can smack them upside the head and ask them if they are insane. I mean, to not see this kind of reaction is pretty scary from our elected officials. Three Republicans have backtracked on the legislation after someone apparently smacked them pretty hard upside the head to actually put some sense into them. It's bad that they voted for this and it's even worse that they really had no clue at all that pretty much everyone in the nation would ask them how they could be so stupid.

But the vote passed along Republican party lines. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

"What I meant to say" was there is NO guarantee that Putin wouldn't try to use force to try to retake the Baltics back into the Russian sphere, there is that possibility that should never be ruled out.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

@bass

The Baltic states have all been in the EU since 2004.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

[For majority of the Russian people, it doesn’t matter what is being done to them, or to other countries in their name, so long as U.S. and Europe aren’t winning. That’s the way Putin has successfully framed his actions and far too many Russians, because he hasn’t given them any other cause for pride

Very true, but there is also another component to this. Putin is also worried that if and that's a big IF Ukraine were to go with the west and join the EU, the same thing could happen to the Baltic states and were that to happen the possibility of political unrest could happen in Russia. I think it's safe to say, this is something that Russia does worry about, even if they don't admit it openly. But as you said, the main thing is for the West to win in ANY compactly. Obama making a threat of warning Putin that there is a Red Line, doesn't phase him in the least. Politically, he is in a good position, the Olympics are over, he received a lot of phrase for that, being a powerbroker and taking credit for Putin getting Assad to come clean and turn over his chemical weapons. Given Obama's history on foreign policy, why would Putin take Obama serious in ANY way? Unless, he follows up on his rhetoric, the president shouldn't say anything.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

For majority of the Russian people, it doesn’t matter what is being done to them, or to other countries in their name, so long as U.S. and Europe aren’t winning. That’s the way Putin has successfully framed his actions and far too many Russians, because he hasn’t given them any other cause for pride. Putin must have known this would happen. Talk about destabilizing a country. Perhaps he had some advice to give in that area, having acquired some experience with such things. If so, what we’ve got is to create instability, causing damage among the crowds, in order to crack down on democratic freedoms. Result, Ukraine becomes or goes back to being another satellite state of Russia. Does any of this sound far-fetched? Does it sound unfamiliar? We can start by acknowledging to ourselves that we are in a Cold War again. At least the other side is not showing up. The Russians know who they are. They’re at the gates.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

by saying that Obama will screw up everything he touches, you've created a situation where it doesn't even matter if you agree with his policy, you're against him anyway.

Of course, I was against him, I know from the beginning what he was all about and knew that he would drastically change the country (screw up to put it bluntly) I tried to give him the benefit of a doubt and look what he did...or didn't do depending on your point of view.

Congrats on finding a way to do that; I know Republicans have been put in that awkward situation of having to be against Obama because of their rabid constituents, but still might agree with some policy decisions that he makes. It's part of that "vote NO, hope YES" scenarios that Republicans often find themselves in.

Get off of it! Both sides will play to their constituents, that's the reason why the Democrats are in high damage control because they know that they have a huge uphill battle to save the Senate and other local elections. But libs don't believe in the will and the vote of the people. They believe that if they can't get their way, just override everything, shove it through like a sausage through a meat grinder.

I'll give it a test run sometime. If I'm against a Republican idea, I'll say that they're idiots and I'm against them. If I'm for a Republican idea, I'll say that they are too stupid to carry it out effectively. And just like that, I can criticize everything that any Republican does or says. And I can ignore putting forth my own ideas or any alternatives.

The problem is, the Dems didn't do ANYTHING and I mean, ANYTHING worth bragging where they can hold there head up high, thump their chest and claim of some positive accomplishment. Unlike you, I am not a partisan, I don't care about party affiliation, I care about the country and this partisan president does not. These last 5 years were a complete joke and it won't stop and things will NOT get better until this guy is out of office. Nifty.

Using that logic, then it's not yours to pass it on Obama, desho?

Different, of course you can judge the president, it's a performance job, which he hasn't done. The man that says he wants to change America, turning it into a 3rd world entitlement nation. Making misguided threats and decision about foreign policy and as a tax payer and using basic knowledge, yes, I have ever right.

@laguna

Gee, Bass, when he bombed Libya without Congressional approval, the GOP were on the verge of impeachment, and when he sought Congressional approval to bomb Syria, the GOP came out against it.

Because Obama did not have ANY contingency plans or any plans regarding nation building. As always the man that capitulates and backs down. My biggest problem is, since this president is a DO NOTHING, ALL TALK, then if he doesn't want to do anything for the Ukrainian people, why shoot off your mouth? That's the thing that really irks me or doing a surge in Afghanistan and sending our men and women in harms way, but in actuality, doesn't really believe in the mission or any of his own strategic policies.amazing!

Say what you want about Obama, but the GOP is the party that's been all over the map (and that's because their sole concern is nothing but blocking any Obama achievement, regardless of the harm to America).

How can you blame them, I would do the same, what parent would give their kid the keys to the Porsche if they know that ultimately he's probably going to wreck it along the way. Oh, and if you are talking about harming America. All I have to do is go to California and Nevada to see the harm he's done, to the country, the poor, the military, the middle class, Blacks and Hispanics, the NSA, which has been turned up and put on steroids our relations with our allies, destroyed, our enemies laugh at us (I would too) yeah, when you talk about all over the map, point the finger to the Democratic Party and liberals. They are the gift that just keeps on giving....I mean, taking, sorry.

You've still proven set to the characterization I mentioned above: All hat and no cattle. Russia has some real red lines in this conflict. What would you suggest? - Sending in the Marines?

Yes!

@kaimychal

Exactly! Hit it out of the ball park! Sadly liberals want to hold on to a faint and ever fasting hope that this president is worth something and they know he's full of it, they just don't want to look bad and to let others know, they have buyers remorse.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

@bassfunk

You have the right LOGIC if people can recall when Presidente (LMAO) Obama was elected one thing he did was try to paint Bush as a President who gave the US a bad image around the world saying that the US was not looked at as being a "FRIENDLY NATION) and that while Bush was in office the US created more enemies than friends. Presidente Obama (LMAO) said once he was in office he would build greater ties with the US allies and those who were not allies or in good relationship with the US he will make them friends. 4.5 years later those US allies Presidente Obama (LMAO) was talking about are no longer or closer to the US they are very much distant (Israel, Japan, South Korea no longer trust the US) and the friends who was trying to gain became even more distant. This BOZO is the most lying Presidente in the history of the US. When Pinocchio lied his nose got bigger when Presidente Obama (LMAO) lies the MOLD on the side of his face gets bigger!! All you Presidente Obama (LMAO) fans just wait and see what the years will bring his policies are nothing about winning they are losing!!! More people have given up their citizenship in the US than ever before under this administration because of this LOSER and more people have just came here as squatters.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

The problem is, when has Obama acted on ANYTHING when it comes to foreign policy? He makes these threats, ooooh, scary! Then he backs off of them.

Gee, Bass, when he bombed Libya without Congressional approval, the GOP were on the verge of impeachment, and when he sought Congressional approval to bomb Syria, the GOP came out against it. It's not your right to pass judgement on other people.

Using that logic, then it's not yours to pass it on Obama, desho?

I'd say blinding oneself from the truth and constantly bumping into solid reality is far more painful. And I suppose many of the people you tarnish with the "liberal" brush might be a little more receptive to conservative viewpoints if the conservatives weren't lumped with people who think the earth is 6,000 years old, reject science and want to enforce a political agenda dictated by reactionary WASP oligarchs who speak with pronounced Dixie accents. No thanks!!!

Conservatives can believe what they want, if you libs don't like it, tough! Let people believe what they want. It's not your right to pass judgement on other people. You guys believe the opposite, that doesn't mean, conservatives have to buy into science or global warming or any of that. They are not bothering you or breaking down your doors and force feeding you anything. Also, your starting to troll by labeling and painting conservatives with one broad brush. So now all conservatives are White have Dixie accents? Lol

3 more years of this nonsense and counting.

@laguna

The Obama bashers above as usual offer nothing but vitriol - not a concrete criticism or suggestion is to be found in their above posts. Typical. Their stated desire for 2016 to arrive is also rather ironic considering another Democrat is overwhelmingly likely to take the reins.

Far from it. The problem is, when has Obama acted on ANYTHING when it comes to foreign policy? He makes these threats, ooooh, scary! Then he backs off of them. You and other liberals just don't want to admit that he is a huge disappointment, I sure wouldn't. I understand. Oh, and if you think, it'll be another shoe-in, think again. Only in a fools dream, at least it won't be that easy, you guys have too much baggage hanging over your heads. Poll after poll, after poll is reflecting this. And it seems like when I read the news every day, the Dems are driving themselves deeper and deeper into a sunken abyss.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

I know the truth hurts.

Sorry, but if you are looking for people to agree with your anti-Obama screeds I suggest you confine your posts to the FOX News site.

I know the truth hurts. It is quite embarrassing that this president thought he could make the ME and Russia love the US and all he did was make it worse than when Bush was President. At least Bush would've followed through on the RED LINE ultimatum. Obama neutered our military stripped it down where we won't be able to threaten Russia with anything. As to why he would waste his time, talking nonsense is beyond me. But you liberals still think this joker is full of hope and change. Yes, he did change the country for the worst. As for change, he's taking everyone's change. By the way, FOX is not the problem, scapegoat. The problem is the guy in the WH.

3 more years and counting.

The Russians really should listen to the US. Because the US knows a thing or two about military interventions ending up being a grave mistake.

Russians were patient with Georgia. Very patient. When Georgia had attacked South Ossetia, Russia quickly fought back. As a result, Abhazia and South Ossetia joined Russian Federation. Georgia lost at least 1/3 of the territory.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

This is not Rocky IV. It is not a zero-sum game. We do not view it through the lens of East-West, Russia-U.S. or anything else. We view it as an example of people within a sovereign nation who are expressing their desire to choose their future.

Good on Kerry. The large Russian population in eastern and southern Ukraine along with the hosting in Sevastopol of the Russian Black Sea Fleet makes the area very important for Russia. Russia needs to know that its requirements will be respected, and that a western-leaning Ukraine is not a threat but an opportunity. Read more about the Kharkiv Accords here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Ukrainian_Naval_Base_for_Gas_treaty

Russia's buffer has been moving eastward since the collapse of its Central Europe puppet states to the point where it is now materially affecting its military infrastructure (Sevastopol). Lack of sympathy for their plight is understandable, but avoiding war with Russia over what they certainly see as red lines is crucial regardless of ones feelings. The Obama bashers above as usual offer nothing but vitriol - not a concrete criticism or suggestion is to be found in their above posts. Typical. Their stated desire for 2016 to arrive is also rather ironic considering another Democrat is overwhelmingly likely to take the reins.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

A stronger response is for NATO to have "defensive" exercises of their own.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

The USA are in no position to warn any country about intervention. After the 2003 invasion of Iraq, they created a worldwide new policy that can be used by any country. Russia think Ukraine is a new threat? Then Russia has every right to invade Ukraine. Invasion of Iraq Policy, remember? Russian citizens are badly treated in Ukraine? Russia should invade Ukraine. Invasion of Iraq Policy.

You created that policy, now you have to leave with it.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

The United States on Wednesday warned Russia against a military intervention in Ukraine, saying such a move would be a “grave mistake"

UN warned US against a military intervention in Irag, saying such a move would be a "grave mistake". US stubbornly has done not only grave mistake but also countless body bags and never ending blood shed of sectarian violence in Irag.

Both US and Russia are trouble makers. They have never been good for world peace and harmony.

Pot called Kettle black!

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Not just that but the EU would be pretty cheesed at Russia too if they intervened militarily.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Here we go again, who has the task of winding Kerry up,I wish they'd throw away his key. Butt out America its again none of your business. How many countries has it interfered with, causing the people more harm and problems that it solves. America for once concentrate on your own country, you have enough problems of your own. Congress can't agree anything internally that requires action, but they sure can cooperate on causing mayhem on foreign shores. The people will decide their own fate, let it be, because it could happen in your own back yard. Don't forget people can only be pushed so far, they see all the bribery,corruption,immense wealth for the few and now they aren't afraid anymore to take action.The system is against them, that's how it was constructed and built. It worked up to a point , and that's were greed came in. History has shown the outcome of what greed can do,lesson have still not been learnt.

Once again, the thumbs down proves that I'm right about this charlatan. Obama campaigned on being a foreign policy guy and the only thing he has done was make things 10 times worse for our allies, embolden our enemies and is destroying our military. 3 more years and counting.

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

Japan and China, the US and Russia, South Korea and North Korea. Old enemies who will continue to hate each other because of events that happened for some like half a century ago or more and both sides just keep poking each other. And leader after leader on both sides who keeps getting elected on continuing to hate platforms. So sad.

It'll take a brave new leader on either sides of these arguments to realize they don't have to keep trying to show their strength to actually be strong. True power is not having to try and flaunt it or to be pulled in by insults and lame threats.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

If "wars" involving Russia will end outside the Russia, they will move into Russia. As soon as tensions in Georgia and Ukraine will end, there's a chance those tensions will start in Russia, because Russian people will want a change too.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Wow, it's looking like Budapest 1956 all over again.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Started counting for 4 years ago. Had to give hope and change a chance. Was absolutely shocked 15 months ago. Three to go!

Obama has lost credibility worldwide. US has lost credibility worldwide. And with growing threats thought the world the US military will be reduced.

Three to go. An incredibly in debt nation in 2017 for the new POTUS. Can he restore the US global strength and clout?

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

I really wish he would just shut his big empty mouth! All talk, ZERO rhetoric, empty threats, empty promises. No one cares, most Americans know he's full of BS and won't follow up and Putin is probably laughing his a** off thinking about Obama, heck, I would too. 3 more years and counting until the nightmare ends!

what is Obama prepared to do, fart next time he sits with Putin? who is he kidding, like US would listen to Russia if Texas decided to seperate
