The Zannon Shaman has the might makes right mindset so common amongst supporters and committers of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

There's just one problem with that, and it's catching up with the US and the regime he adores. What happens when you are no longer the mightiest? The US economy has all the problems that brought down the USSR, and the trigger is in China's hands. And just as at the beginning of WW2, the military paradigms have changed, a lot of the on hand best in their class military marvels are sitting ducks, winning tactics are turning out to being traps, and impunities disappearing.

ROLF. The French military has been at the forefront of fighting Daesh. Their ships have conducted cruise missile strikes in Syria and their aircraft have been busy in the skies of Syria bombing Daesh targets. Few in the US seem to realize how heavily tasked the French armed forces have been in Afghanistan, Africa and Syria.

ROLF!

Oh, the French supported the US in Operation Iraqi Freedom, which is what we were commenting on?

I must have dreamt up Freedom Fries.

At least the French stood firmly opposed to the US.

> The UK participated in carrying out the missions that set up the ISIS. It must have been embarrassing when your country's leader wanted to be a follower and wannabe of W.

PM Tony Blair said the Iraq war was wrong and has deep remorse.

The Iraqi War with Colin Powel holding up a little vial of anthrax as evidence of weapons of mass destruction; what a joke. Those who think the world is dumb are the ones who are dumb. And his speech at the U.N., what a mess the GOP made helping the ISIS.

the UK is carrying out most of the missions to wipe out the remnants of IS in Iraq

The Kurdish authorities in the north and the Baghdad government can both call for air strikes against IS fighters inside Iraq.

To stay on point, wiping out IS is a good thing, we can all agree on that I assume.

Britain has no authority to attack anyone in Iraq.

The article says it does:

Good day chaps! Have a taste of some London lead!!

Excellent work UK. The West should put more military resources into the Middle East to wipe out all Islamic Terrorists.

More UK Gov. meddling in the Middle East means only one thing: more of the same IS blowback on the homefront for the unsuspecting folk in Blighty, the usual victims in the fight against "terrorism".

Perhaps Sky has the distance right (or wrong) then? (25 km...)

Quote "Cmdre Moorhouse said that a Russian warship has come within 16 miles of the Queen Elizabeth since it started anti-IS operations on 18 June."

Good for the UK, fighting for freedom and against terror.

After this mission, please come to the western Pacific, HMS QE, and help defend Taiwan against the commies.

For Desert Tortoise, re above Can you tell us please how you happen to know this? It isn't like any navy publishes the movements of their submarines..

What this means is that when the Queen Elizabeth sails into the South China Sea it will do so with a combat experienced air wing, something no Chinese carrier air wing can yet claim.

The Russians have subs recently moved into place too, and they'll be measuring the F-35s with everything they have.

Can you tell us please how you happen to know this? It isn't like any navy publishes the movements of their submarines. I also challenge the ability of any sub to conduct effective ELINT on an L-O airplane in flight. As soon as a sub pokes anything above the surface it is detected and everyone knows they have company below the surface.
