These folks have become so used to blaming China and Russia for everything that they are forgetting who gave North Korea the technology like enrichment centrifuge designs to go nuclear in the first place.

https://foreignpolicy.com/2021/10/11/aq-khan-pakistan-north-korea-nuclear/

Same as how Iran also got access to nuclear technology.

When Pakistan conducted its nuclear tests in 1998 there were North Korean observers present on the invitation of the Pakistani government. Within the next 8 years North Korea also was able to conduct its own nuclear test.

And then think about the fact that US maintains close ties with Pakistan including but not limited to giving billions in aid and weapons. Something that Trump tried to stop but the current administration is resuming.

If the US wants to criticise China and Russia for shielding North Korea it should also first look at the kind of allies it nurtures.

Fascinating story, EvilBuddha - thank you. But I would not exactly call Pakistan a US "ally." The two countries maintain a minimum amount of cooperation out of necessity.

@Laguna

But EvilBuddha's point stands- the US has culpability/causality via the billions in aid it gave to Pakistan, then blames China and Russia...same with Al-Qaeda, IS, Ukraine, etc.

Don't forget who gave Pakistan nukes in the first place (CHINA), even though there was clear international agreements to NOT share nuclear tech with countries that won't sign the NPT agreement.

https://www.heritage.org/asia/report/the-strategic-implications-chinas-nuclear-aid-pakistan

...and who gave China nuke tech? Russia.

The same evil axis was always there, and expanding.

US accuses China, Russia of enabling North Korea's Kim:

What is wrong with China-Russia blanketing Kim when US has done likewise for NATO for years?

Now Washington is even enabling Japan, Australia, UK & even India to encapsulate China.

Anything more left to say..?

First, China gave us Covid-19 without any warning and knowingly scattered its citizen/carriers all around the world as tourists/spreaders . . . KNOWINGLY. WTF?! And then refused any help from the outside world to reduce the danger. What were they thinking?!

Then, if the world wasn't already suffering enough, Russia launches a brutal invasion of its peaceful neighbor killing thousands of innocent Ukrainian men, women and children in the process.

Now, if things weren't already messed up enough, through their combined efforts, China and Russia give one of the world's craziest and most brutal regimes the help and technological know-how to develop a nuclear weapons program.

It's all so crazy and nonsensical.

Have any of those countries shot ACTUAL MISSILES over other countries recently?

Are any of these countries threatening to use nuclear weapons? Actively threatening war?

Oh wait, that's just Russia. I meant on the other side of your "encapsulate China" idea.

What a ridiculous comparison.

We currently live in Dark times.

When you think of Kim Jong Un have his finger on the "Nuclear button", think again of a 6 year old having a Nuclear button... then you will get the picture of how unstable this situation is. Let's not look at whose fault it is, but what can be done to bring stability to the situation before an "accident" happens or the situation gets out of hand.

Seems like Captain Obvious is speaking. Both Russia and China have been caught violating the UN rules around helping NK.

There are photos of Chinese ships transferring UN forbidden items to NK boats. A nice photo: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/18/north-korea-defies-sanctions-with-chinas-help-un-panel-says There have been thousands of ship-to-ship transfers.

Russia is trading oil for shells and dumb rockets currently with NK. https://www.reuters.com/world/what-weapons-could-north-korea-send-russia-2022-09-07/

This story is about China, Russia and NK ... well, and the US "Captain Obvious" saying what has been known for years about trade between those countries.
