The US should give Ukraine tough love ,like the Afghanistan people, lots of people in Ukraine are downplaying the conflict at their own peril

A few dozen elite U.S troops and equipment were seen landing Sunday in southeastern Poland

Expecting an invasion of Poland? Not a good sign.

Expecting an invasion of Poland? Not a good sign.

I don't believe an invasion of Poland is expected, it's just a staging area for troops in case things escalate in the Ukraine.

A WW 2 reference. Though if it is a staging area for an incursion into Ukraine that could be even worse.

dagon, yeah, I got it. Let's hope deterrence works and no shots need be fired.

You mean they don't believe all the made up hysteria about the invasion?

1 ( +8 / -7 )

If you call over 100,000 heavily armed Russian troops on their border as well as existing invasion and occupation of their country made up hysteria, undoubtedly. So no the US troops are not the aggressors, what they are is a statement of mutual support to a NATO ally and a proportionate response as a reminder to the Russians.

mutual support to a NATO ally

Which ally would that be?

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

European officials fear that the continent's energy supplies are vulnerable i n the case of hostilities over Ukraine.

Of course they are vulnerable.

A lot of the europe countries relies on Russian supplies of oil via the pipe line that travels through several european countries.

US is member of NATO, Poland is a member of NATO, they are in the country of their ally, so they are within their own allies borders.

Bronco, perhaps the Russian troops illegally occupying parts of eastern Ukraine and the Crimea they invaded should return to within their own borders! They are the ones causing the problem as are the massed troops “in their own country” unjustifiably threatening the Ukraine.

-5 ( +5 / -10 )

More clowns with assault riffles for the little charade theater of US and its interventionist offensive in Eastern Europe..

4 ( +10 / -6 )

perhaps the Russian troops illegally occupying parts of eastern Ukraine and the Crimea they invaded should return to within their own borders!

That's like asking the US to return California and other states to Mexico. How would you undo war, start another war?

5 ( +9 / -4 )

what for they came?

just to make tension more tense?

let me ask who is provoking who?who desperately need war and who wants peace?

Alternate headline:

US troops massing on the Belarus border, raising tensions.

Since when does a few hundred troops equal "massing troops"? Scaremongering.

All countries should move their own troops into their own borders.

Problem solved.

And when Russia moves its troops out of Donbas, Crimea, Ossetia, Abkhazia and the Northern Territories and allied territory of Belarus, and China removes troops from Tibet and takes invasion of Taiwan off the table and Nth Korea promises never to invade Sth Korea, then perhaps the US will remove troops from it's allies territories.

However, 1 country (cough cough USA), the aggressor, won't do that.

However 2 countries (cough cough China and Russia) the aggressors, wont do that.

The Russian troops are inside Russian territory. They are free to move anywhere within Russia.

They are also in Belarus a foreign country oh and in Syria and Libya too, 10,000 miles outside Russian territory.

US troops are 10,000 miles outside US territory in a foreign country massing on another country's border.

Massing troops on another nations borders? Where is that? Only small troop movements from the US have been made in Europe, nowhere near 100,000 - 120,000

All troops should stay within their own borders.

Tell Russia that too and not just America and perhaps your message may be more accurate.

Propaganda piece for the military industrial complex. Nothing to see, profits excepted.

Propaganda piece for the military industrial complex. Nothing to see, profits excepted.

It's not only profits, it has been impossible to predict where the weapons would end up or how they would be used. On repeated occasions, American troops have fought opponents armed with American weapons.

What you see is what you get. I think they call this a Wizywig. Look at Russias actions not their talk.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

so the National Security adviser now says Russia can invade soon, in a few weeks or not at all.

Its no wonder we have poor national security with this kind of professional level "advice".

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

On repeated occasions, American troops have fought opponents armed with American weapons.

And their own Frankensteins, yes.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Sure, let's put US troops in Europe super close to Russia, that'll let them know....

...stupidity...

It's true because I say it's true:

Notice how N.E.D. Price is getting all jittery.

Why not deploy in Ukraine. Clearly the US will just stand by as Russia invades Ukraine. This is a precursor to Russian invasion of Israel for a spoil with Turkey, Iran, Sudan, Libya and the Stans countries in Central Asia (Ezekiel 38-39). The US will just protest but will not help. Israel needs to be alone so that the world will see their supernatural deliverance.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

On repeated occasions, American troops have fought opponents armed with American weapons.

Yes and also against Russian and Chinese weapons as well. All three nations export weapons all over the world.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

If Ukraine is invaded its people will be the losers. If the west sanctions Russia which then turns off the oil and gas pipelines, the European countries relying on it will be the losers.

If Russia is heavily hit with Sanctions and then stops its main income export of fuel it will collapse economically and will be worse off than anyone. The continuing export of fuels will be the lifeline Russia needs to carry on.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Yes, maybe all those smaller countries need some more mental and symbolic support when seeing the maneuvering forces of the Russians. In fact and considered a conflict would be fought only with conventional weapons, of course everyone knows that those 70% invasion ready forces are already more than enough not only to take the Ukraine en passant, no, if once in a forward movement it’s also easy for them to make a convenient marching through without significant resistance up to the Portuguese Algarve coast and the Russian soldiers then take a bath there and sip from cocktails at the beach bars. lol

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

However, 1 country (cough cough USA), the aggressor, won't do that.

lol yet Russia has troops in Belarus, why can Poland or Ukraine have US troops in their countries at their invitation

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Its no wonder we have poor national security with this kind of professional level "advice".

what do you want them to do just throw them under the bus like Trump did to the Kurd allies in Syria, effectively leaving Syria to Putin

4 ( +6 / -2 )

no, there are 3 possible outcomes and the National security adviser chose all 3. What kind of nonsense is that?

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

like Trump did to the Kurd allies in Syria,

A google search of “Obama abandoned Kurds” might enlighten you about 2014 in particular.

Here's a pretty good video lining what Putin is demanding. It's about 8 mins.

A search of the article finds no mention of Obama or the Kurds....

More off-topic nonsense....
