Thanks, Mr. President.

Almost 2000 deaths in the past 24 hours. Disgraceful.

Anyone else remember, not too long ago, that loser buffoon promising the death toll would be "50-60000 max"? It was "going to disappear like magic." Shame on him and the other morons who never took it seriously. Youve brought your nation to its knees.

14 ( +17 / -3 )

The number of COVID-19 deaths in the United States crossed 250,000 on Wednesday, according to a Reuters tally, as a third coronavirus wave brings a fresh surge in infections and puts immense strain on the healthcare system.

*That's all I hear about now. That's all I hear. Turn on television—'Covid, Covid, Covid, Covid, Covid, Covid.' A plane goes down. 500 people dead, they don't talk about it," Trump told his supporters at a campaign rally in Lumberton, North Carolina, on October 24th. "Covid, Covid, Covid, Covid.' *By the way, on November 4, you won't hear about it anymore,

What we "won't hear about" is Trump's demented rantings after 20 Jan - and it can't come soon enough...

13 ( +16 / -3 )

Yet they are still endlessly debating about masks.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

By March, we are likely to have 400k deaths THAT WE KNOW ABOUT.

That is more deaths about 13-14 months than the number of combat fatalities the U.S. suffered in WWII in both theaters in 4 years.

This is what government by unqualified, uneducated, amoral, conspiracy-addled sociopaths looks like.

11 ( +14 / -3 )

The current unfit occupant of the White House has called it the “China” virus.

During all of the so-called pandemic press conferences (reelection campaign rallies) I understood them as “damn the pandemic, full speed ahead with the reelection campaign”.

With an excess of a quarter or a million pandemic related deaths, the inept misadministration has had nothing to say. A very sad picture of the nightmare the United States of America has been suffering since November 8, 2016. This is another “ date that will life in infamy”.

12 ( +15 / -3 )

The current administration has blood on their hands.

There is no sane excuse for it getting to this stage.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

Even with the spike the US is still 8th or so in terms of per capita deaths.  This is a tragedy but it is a worldwide tragedy.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

Remember back in February when China had this massive explosion of cases and their total raced up to like 80,000? And everyone was thinking "Oh wow, China is really getting hit hard by this, it must be like hell there. Sure glad I'm not in China."

Could you imagine how freaked out people would have been then if a time traveler from November, 2020 went back and told them that in 9 months the US would be adding double that number of cases every single day?

12 ( +13 / -1 )

If the Corona Don had responded with the USA people in mind to the pandemic instead of his own re-election then the death rate would be 10% of the total it is today.

He followed the science, ask Fauci.

Trump is a mass murderer

There is absolutely zero proof whatsoever to back that irresponsible and ludicrous statement. I know you hate the guy, I feel the same about Obama, but mass murderer? Lol

effectively. If the NZ PM was our President the USA would have been infinitely better off than now due to the Corona Don's total failure.

You mean more lockdowns that no one will obey. Let Biden try another lockdown, I doubt it will go well with the masses.

She never called the pandemic a hoax like the Corona Don did. And she was re-elected to her position and the Corona Don lost his election

Blame China and remember, the NZ is Not the US, we have the second amendment they don’t.

On Trump's watch: dozens of thousands of needless deaths, millions sickened, a staggering economy (for the general population, not the 'elite'). And Trump's playing golf - on the US taxpayer's dollars.

Trump's failures will hurt the US for years to come. Hopefully by now anyone who had thought a corrupt businessmale leading a far right populist movement could have even the slightest chance of improving the lives of the general population has put that notion to rest.

Watching how Trump continues his assaults on the remaining bits of US democracy it would be nice to think among the 70+million who voted for Trump most will see how wrong they were.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

There really should be a reckoning for this level of incompetence and indifference to human suffering.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

On Trump's watch: dozens of thousands of needless deaths, millions sickened, a staggering economy (for the general population, not the 'elite').

So what about all the people that died in nursing homes, Cuomo gets a pass? Why? Why is it ok for these Dems to not wear masks, but the rest of us do? Rules for thee, but not me, kinda foul don’t you think?

And Trump's playing golf - on the US taxpayer's dollars.

Chasing after Trump costed taxpayers millions and yet, silence from the Dems.

Trump's failures will hurt the US for years to come.

And Biden’s is already hurting and he didn’t even start yet.

Hopefully by now anyone who had thought a corrupt businessmale leading a far right populist movement could have even the slightest chance of improving the lives of the general population has put that notion to rest.

Well, 70+million people will give the same pleasant treatment to Biden in the same way liberals gave Trump, it’s the least we can do.

Watching how Trump continues his assaults on the remaining bits of US democracy it would be nice to think among the 70+million who voted for Trump most will see how wrong they were.

After how this election unfold and what the Dems did, I will submit to you it will have quite the opposite effect.

So what about

Whatever follows this lead in is typically irrelevant.

North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Nebraska are the top five worst-affected U.S. states.

4 out of 5 have Republican governors.

I have yet to hear anything concrete that either Biden or the Democrats would have done that could have lessened the impact of the virus, especially given the limitations on federal power in the Constitution...

I have yet to hear anything concrete that either Biden or the Democrats would have done that could have lessened the impact of the virus, especially given the limitations on federal power in the Constitution...

Not saying "it's just a flu and it'll be gone by April" would have been a start. Oh well.

14 ( +15 / -1 )

I have yet to hear anything concrete that either Biden or the Democrats would have done that could have lessened the impact of the virus

Compared to the current administration? Doing anything would have been better. Literally anything. Trump has spent the entire virus pretending it didn't exist.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

Dakota has the lowest rates for wearing masks, highest rates for Covid-1- infections.

Populist leaderships are a failure.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

bass, what you don't seem to understand is that we know a lot more about COVID now then we did in the beginning where places like NYC were the epicenter. We learned from them.

Right now New York City has a cases/100k at 20. North Dakota is at 185.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Atilla: I have yet to hear anything concrete that either Biden or the Democrats would have done that could have lessened the impact of the virus

Biden and his administration won't do everything they can to stop protective measures. That's a pretty big difference.

Also throw in lead by example, don't hold superspreader events, don't undercut your own science team, don't constantly lie about it.

Lots of things, actually.

13 ( +13 / -0 )

But loudly shouting that great vaccines are available and distributed still in October. Neither, nor... They are still not great and they are also still not distributed. Try it with what you can best, with daily announcements, spreading false hopes, grieving, prayers, stupid hypothesis, conspiracy theories and so on. lol

The Dakotas have over twice the number of deaths that South Korea has with approx 1.6 million people combined, compared to over 50 million in SK with dramatically higher population density.

gee, what could explain such a disparity?

Billionaire-entrepreneur Elon Musk was feeling poorly recently, so he took four COVID-19 tests in a 24-hour period.

(This type of test is called the ‘rapid antigen test’, because results are obtained in a short period of time.) According to Musk, two of the tests came back positive and two came back negative. So whether Mr. Musk has COVID or not, fully 50% OF HIS TEST RESULTS WERE TOTAL FAILURES. Musk used the term “bogus ” to describe the tests. (We should probably remind ourselves, that a guy like Musk would almost certainly follow the Test Directions to the letter.)

Sorry, messed the quote up. Quotation should end at “The Dakota’s.” My bad

The US is now effectively leaderless now. Trump is just playing golf and tweeting/retweeting conspiracy theories full time now. Does he still watch Fox?

A very bad time to have no leader.

South Korea has over 50 million people with high population density. Uber Trumpist Kristi Noem’s South Dakota has about 800,000 and is amongst the lowest in population density in the US. There are more dead in South Dakota than South Korea. What’s the difference?

would appear the Golden Flock find that perfectly appropriate. Like. Seriously, what’s in it for him?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Cuomo gets a pass? Why?

Coz he's not the POTUS? Coz he recognised his mistakes, learned from them and set NY on the right track?

Why is it ok for these Dems to not wear masks, but the rest of us do?

What Dems? It's not OK for anyone not to wear a mask. It was the Impeached One who kept telling folk it wasn't necessary who encouraged huge numbers of unmasked one to gather together and spew virus at each other.

Trump's failures will hurt the US for years to come.

And Biden’s is already hurting

Can you be specific?

After how this election unfold and what the Dems did

And what exactly did the Dems do, apart from win fair and square and try to get on with the job in hard? That obviously upset Donald, looks like it upset you too.

Thanks, Trump

Based on current trends, probably close to zero new cases in US too by end of April

I saw the cyberhacking as it occured that night. With Russia paying the Taliban bounties on US forces, Turnip says nothing. Goes around making his uncouth 'Kung Flu' jokes, stirs up civil strife and violence in America, lies all the time about the virus. Thanks for nothing, you zero.

I have yet to hear anything concrete that either Biden or the Democrats would have done that could have lessened the impact of the virus

Compared to the current administration? Doing anything would have been better. Literally anything. Trump has spent the entire virus pretending it didn't exist.

If we had a President greater measures would've been made. He would've had a Special Address on TV and would've addressed the issue at hand and informed us of what to do in order to stay safe. He would've been civilized about it. That's something Trump knows nothing about. He has a lot of blood on his hands.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Still waiting to hear what specific policies Trump should have implemented. "Take it seriously" isn't a policy. Trump shut down travel from China (and was excoriated as racist by Democrats for doing so), instituted the Defense Production Act, started Operation Warp Speed to aid in vaccine development, signed stimulus measures to aid those hurt economically, etc.

There is only so much a president can do in the American system. A lot of power is left to state governors and local leaders. How about holding some of them to account as well?

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Led by example, not hold superspreader events, not undercut his own science team, not constantly lie about it.

Oh ff...NZ have common sense and a legacy of making things better not worse.

Why are you still here?

There’s nothing left of that barrel, you’ve been scraping the bottom of it all year.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Trump got bored with the virus and chooses to ignore it except when there's some glory to be had, like with vaccines. Millions arfe trying to survive on unemployment and foodbanks.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Presidents actually have a lot of power when it comes to influencing the national mood.

As do the media

That's why when Trump called mask wearing unpatriotic his sheep stopped wearing them and Covid cases spiked in pro-Trump states.

No because the experts and so many of them have had different opinions on the mask, sunset the mask works, Somerset the mess stone and then some say it does and we go back-and-forth and people like Diane Feinstein and Nancy Pelosi and Gavin Newsom and Gretchen Whitmore, so many liberals have been caught not wearing a mask, they want to make the rules for all of us and yet they don’t follow any of it, that is the height of liberal hypocrisy at its worst and when people see that it also influences the people and makes him think that this is all just a crock of crap.

He wasn't. Trump is a xenophobic fear mongerer,

And that is exactly what these people are doing on the left a lot of fear mongering, wear the mask or else, you cannot go to Thanksgiving or you can’t even have Christmas or you’re not allowed to have more than 10 people in your household, it’s just madness. if I didn’t thinks he’s going to browbeat people into worry masks or staying locked down, he has another think coming, not going to happen.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Every leader does that.

like with vaccines. Millions arfe trying to survive on unemployment and foodbanks.

And millions of people are trying to work and yet in these blue states the Democrat leaders and governors and mayors on a long these people to work and that’s not right either.

The highest infections rates are all red states and cities.

To be clear, you're saying "it's fine that a quarter of a million Americans are dead, because Trump is from New York"

He barely reacted at all. And hundreds of thousands are dead because of it. And you don't care.

How do you look yourself in the mirror?

Sorry, I don't play the "so what you're saying is..." game. I'll leave that up to the left.

I am saying what I am saying. Listing actions that he took. Imperfectly, but took. You seem more interested in emotion and feeling and mood than concrete action and policy. That's fine, it is common on the left side of the spectrum.

You may not like the actions he took, may not think they were enough or fast enough or strong enough, and there is an argument to be made there. But it isn't a binary question- was he perfect or was he useless. The truth as always lies somewhere in the middle. Arguing that he could have used the bully pulpit of the presidency and made stronger statements, which would have saved thousands of lives, is impossible to prove or disprove. So I'll leave it alone.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

New York closes all schools from tomorrow.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Every leader does that.

Well, Putin, Erdogan, Kim, they all do it. So Trump was in his company there.

But quality leaders like Obama, and like Hillary would have been had you guys not elected your third Loser in a row, roll up their sleeves and deal with the crap too.

How's that Benghazi email Kenya stuff going for you guys? Find any interdimensional pizzagate pedophiles with chemtrails turning our frogs gay?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Comparing NZ and the USA is like comparing a seed and a forest. Perhaps comparing to other G7 nations would be better? Or other huge countries with large and diverse populations?

I am refuting your position with a list of concrete steps the Bad Orange Man took. Do you have additional steps he should have taken? Perhaps any contemporaneous accounts from the time those steps were taken to show that they were insufficient?

It is easy to play Monday morning quarterback and second guess after the fact. At the time, with the information available, he did fine IMHO. Nobody expected it to drag on this long, and in so many places.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Yeah, absolutely. That's why Trump MSM outlets like Fox and the NYPost spreading fake news about Covid are bad.

According to liberals and again, it’s not Fox. None of the prime time pundits claimed that, now as far as the regular news media that might be different, they still get their marching orders, but the other three they don’t end up buying it

I agree! It is extremely bad when people don't wear masks when they go out, no matter who they are

Millions of us feel the opposite.

Pelosi doesn't wear a mask, even though masks are good, so people figure, "eh, I don't need a mask", and they get sick. And that's a bad thing.

Do you agree?

I think the Dems are full of it, that’s what I think, they’re hypocrisy on fullest display...as usual.

Don't visit your family for Thanksgiving or Xmas. you'll make them sick.

Your choice, my choice is, I’m celebrating the holidays

.

No they do not. Every leader of every country with major covid-19 infections are in the forefront of their fight

So is Trump, Fauci said so. He’s the expert, listen to him. Remember to tell all those riders and looters to stay at home and a spine support us not to go out and celebrate on the streets they need to listen to the experts as well.

The highest infections rates are all red states and cities

And they are also the ones that are recovering faster as well, think of Florida is still a safe haven

Dr. Fauci stated "wear masks!"

The highest infections rates are all red states and cities

And they are also the ones that are recovering faster as well, think of Florida is still a safe haven

But they are not. Hospitals in Texas are being overwhelmed with infection cases and having to limit the amount of ICU care.

Florida: 897,323 cases 17,644 deaths

he’s Flipped and flopped on that so many times and again why is it that we have to and these Democrat leaders don’t have to?

But they are not. Hospitals in Texas are being overwhelmed with infection cases and having to limit the amount of ICU care.

And people are recovering faster, but I agree the infections are higher, but the death rate is going down so that’s great.
