He really should be running as a 3rd party candidate. He is and always has been a business-friendly, centrist Republican and now he's trying to run as a business-friendly, centrist Democrat. I think he would appeal to a lot of the non-extremes of both parties. Not to me, but to many.
In a Sanders-Trump-Bloomberg race, the USA might finally get past it's bi-polar politics.

I would prefer Bloomberg to Trump, but my opinion counts for nothing as a non-American.
I fear that most other Democratic candidates wouldn't have a chance of defeating Trump, but hopefully one of the moderates proves me wrong.

The big news, which is missing here, are the reports that Bloomberg is "considering" Hillary Clinton as his running mate if he buys the nomination. If he does, this alone makes him unfit to be president. Not only that, it makes him insane.
I would prefer Bloomberg to Trump, but my opinion counts for nothing as a non-American.*Your opinion doesn't count for nothing, you are perfectly entitled to your opinion. I'm really glad though, that you can't vote in our elections.

Your point then is the choice would be one of the two geriatric, insane males. Not a good one, but I'd hold my nose and vote for the self-made billionaire Bloomberg. At least he understands business and economics. And so far hasn't been shown to have been involved in the global criminal underworld.
bass4funk
So does Trump, why do you think he has an almost 50% approval rating, no Democrat can even remotely come close to that, enter Bloomberg! The Dems are so desperate to beat Trump that they’ll sell their political souls and accept help from the deepest of swamps. Lol, you just can’t make this stuff up.
Neither has Trump.
Jimizo
The poster could go to the US and vote illegally like over 3 million did in the last election according to Trump, ‘proving’ that he did win the popular vote after all.

Trump is far from geriatric. He's not 78, he's 73 and has the energy of someone who's 23.
Bloomberg may be mega-rich but that doesn't mean he's fit to be POTUS.

Yeah, what's up with that? That can't be right, I keep seeing these polls that still have every Democrat beating Trump like a drum, lol.

Har! Yeah, I don't think there were that many illegal votes but no doubt there were many, so point taken.
I think Trump will win the popular vote this time, including all the illegal/California votes. Electoral College will be a landslide.

Yup Bloomberg is a billionaire who made his money largely providing services to Wall Street and has been a large Republican donor, Republican mayor who had a rep for being tough on crime and who had a pretty poor record with large swathes of NY downtrodden, who has previously been accused of being a pretty dodgy boss,, especially with ethnic and female staff. Just the ticket for the Dems.
If it wasn't that the others look so weak and the irrational and visceral desire to back anyone seen as being able to get rid of Doony Darko, he wouldn't even be considered as their possible candidate.

Is this the same Trump that is said to have shot a hole in one the first time he played golf. The Trump whose birth was heralded by a swallow, caused winter to change to spring, a star to illuminate the sky, and a double rainbow to spontaneously appear? Or am I thinking of some other cult leader?
Sneezy
Is this the same Trump you all said was a frail old man who could be killed by some drizzle when he refused to honor the US military dead in France? That guy?

Unfortunately, debates are not going to make any difference this time around. Trump won because his narrative was clear and resonated with people who liked the simple idea of scapegoating Mexicans, liberals, smarty-pants bureaucrats, and the established press. He sold an aggressively emotional mix of hatred, resentment, white entitlement, and jingoism. Unfortunately (again), a lot of the undecided (and mostly undereducated) voters in swing states are not going to be swayed by policy proposals or soft-spoken reasonableness from Democrats. They're looking for a fiery narrative that stirs them up. The only candidate who delivers that at the moment is Sanders, and I have my doubts whether he can beat Trump (unfortunately).
Debates are dead. So is the United States as we know it.

Trump said he’d throw all the illegals out but didn’t. Maybe he’s got them on side. His wall is turning out to be bits of fence.
What do you think, 5 million of them voting this time?
bass4funk
No, liberals completely destroyed most of California. Give it time and Orange County will be a dump soon.
As far as illegals are concerned, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to have a secure border and to demand people enter our country legally.
securing the border is now considered to be a hateful thing? Really?
Ahhh, you guys are just mad that Trump will be getting on your nerves for 4 more years.
The majority of Americans would never vote for a socialist.
If we elect a socialist it will be for sure, kiss it goodbye and get the hammer and sickle ready.
Blacklabel
Was actually supposed to be riding in a helicopter.
Haven’t we heard recently about something bad happening to people who rode in a helicopter in slightly bad weather?
Sneezy
You spent nearly a decade claiming that Obama was a socialist.
This is a pathetic excuse. You seriously think that a bit of drizzle prevents helicopters from working properly?
In any event, the excuse you guys peddled at the time was that he’s just to dainty and easily sickened that standing in the rain would be a death sentence.
Trump is a lazy fat dimwit who dishonored the troops, and his cultists love him for it. But there again, some of his cultists here call troops expendable idiots, and say that they laugh when they die. But that’s Trumpets for you.
bass4funk
He was socialist-light and the country more than ever vehemently rejected it.
Lazy? Hardly, check the economy. dishonored the troops, since when do liberals cares about religion or the military.
That he’s a disrupter, heck yeah!
Hey, liberals call the President an idiot, so....
Sneezy
You said he was a socialist dictator. Oh, and he wasn’t rejected: he won both of his elections.
Yes, he is lazy. I’m not a liberal, so I’m not a good one to answer.
That’s because he is one. But go ahead and carry on with your disgusting philosophy of “I laugh when troops die” and “Republicans don’t care about minority votes”. I love it when you’re actually honest.
Chip Star
By giving him a second term? You have a weird understanding of the meaning of rejection.
Your understanding of economics is as suspect as your understanding of the meaning of rejection.
Since always. I know this is going to come as a shock, but liberals, unlike conservatives, have diverse opinions.
Chip Star
Let’s just see how much of an idiot Donny is:
*Yet Trump — who doesn't read or digest detailed intelligence assessments, according to current and former officials — says he operates on instinct.*

bass also called Trump a socialist before he got the nomination.
In my opinion, being a socialist won't turn undecided voters away from Sanders. The GOP has been calling Democrats "socialists" since the 1950s. Time to defang this epithet. The vast majority of Americans agree with what Sanders proposes, just as they agreed with the details of the ACA if they weren't labeled "socialist" or attached to a non-waspy name like Obama ("Obamacare"). (--BTW, where's that Republican health care plan?)
Similarly, most Trump supporters don't really have a problem with undocumented workers from Central America, abortion, reasonable gun controls, legalized pot, higher taxes on the super wealthy, or the Iran nuclear deal. It's just when these positions are framed in menacing terms that these people will run shrieking into the arms of the GOP. They've been well and truly suckered by a very tiny, but very powerful, segment of the population.
The GOP has ended up with Trump because it's ideology is no longer marketable to the American public. So it has gone with cynicism instead.
bass4funk
And Trump was the result of those tumultuous times..
Impossible! Lazy people can’t make this good of an economy nor can they raise that kind of money. Now on the Democrats side....
So are the liberals that are going to challenge him.
What in the world are you talking about and yes, when liberals have nothing to add to the conversation, it’s time to take out the race card....sigh.
Not going to work this time for the socialists....really.

Toasted Heretic
Bloomberg thinks he can buy his way into the elections with a few choice soundbytes and an obscene amount of money.
Deluded.
Toasted Heretic
Some people are unable to distinguish between liberal and socialist... sigh.
