The Dem socialists will finally be out of office? What a relief!

Trumplets don't know who's running the country, not a surprise!!

With all the whining Donny does you might get that feeling, if you don't read enough....

Countries need to move away from using fossil fuels and seek alternative energies. There are countries which are achieving it but the big spenders still burn them.

The Socialist fascists are.

"The term "social fascist" was used pejoratively to describe social democratic parties, anti-Comintern and progressive socialist parties and dissenters within Comintern affiliates throughout the interwar period. The "social fascism" theory was advocated vociferously by the Communist Party of Germany, which was largely controlled and funded by the Soviet leadership from 1928."

Not sure about the "alt leftist liberals socialists" or other boogeymen that seem to inspire fright in you.

They don’t frighten me, they just annoy the heck out of me.

Common sense though would dictate we should transition to sources of energy that don't put carbon into the atmosphere and,

I agree, but not at the expense of the tax payer. It should done through private enterprises.

That is total nonsense.

The Socialist fascists are.

Of course the US is 'in', for the same reason it has been 'in' for the last 24 of these, to dangle the possibility of the world's largest voluntary polluter signing a climate change agreement while making it clear that it won't sign one that isn't vague and toothless.

So according to you and the alt leftist liberals socialists, we should all walk, no more planes, cares, just gliders and skateboards.

Not sure about the "alt leftist liberals socialists" or other boogeymen that seem to inspire fright in you.

Common sense though would dictate we should transition to sources of energy that don't put carbon into the atmosphere and, where that isn't possible owing to practical limitations, find a way of removing it from the atmosphere.

No need to malign the good name of gliders and skateboards in any of this.

the Gulf theocracies and elsewhere, want him to continue to push his 1950's fossil fuel powered economy.

So according to you and the alt leftist liberals socialists, we should all walk, no more planes, cares, just gliders and skateboards. No more plastic, just weaved baskets, we’ll just wrap everything up in Coconut or banana leaves and children will never be able to paint anymore, it’s going to be a real boing place, this future.

Wait for another year and ' The Stupids' will no longer run America.

The Dem socialists will finally be out of office? What a relief!

This is why we've never been visited/invaded by aliens. All other extraterrestrial civilizations have gone through the same thing - their planet becomes uninhabitable due to natural causes and/or their causes, and they die out before they're able to develop faster than light travel.

Have a great day, everyone!

Pelosi can make any promises/claims she chooses to, but Democrats and Hillary supporters are still fighting amongst themselves over how they will choose to destroy the U.S. economy. What they should be doing is trying to figure out how best to live in a naturally occurring warming environment.

Nah, they're too busy trying to take down Trump since they know they can't beat him at the ballot box in 2020.

the 2015 Paris Agreement to avert catastrophic temperature rises.

Newsflash for the climate changers - the Earth has been warming up and cooling down for millions of years without any input/output from humans. But just for argument's sake, let's say that this current warming is anthropogenic - caused by humans - didn't we already pass the point of no return in 2017? According to Greenpeace, we did! Oh my!

https://www.greenpeace.org/usa/wp-content/uploads/legacy/Global/usa/planet3/PDFs/Coal/PointOfNoReturn.pdf

Yeah, we would have to not just cut CO2, we would have to go carbon negative at this point. Yeah, extermination of half the human race would be required.

Looks like we're doomed either way, folks.

By the way what is the carbon footprint for all these jets to Madrid for this conference?

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Uh, no we are not. Yet another Dem lie.

LMAO a Trump cultist worrying about lies

2 ( +6 / -4 )

But achieving consensus around future U.S. legislation will be a challenge, with campaigners pushing lawmakers and Democratic presidential candidates to pursue a sweeping Green New Deal that twins climate action with social justice.

Superceding indictment to be issued against Trump, Ukraine conspirators Google Parnas,Frumam

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Not really.  Truth is none of the G20 are fully "in".  Lots of noise but actions few and far between.  doing what will be required to halt global climate change will be almost impossible under a democratic system.  and as for convincing developing nations that they should curtail their progress to developed status by reining in use oif fossils and plastics and so on is also likely to be a challenge.

Nancy should pray for the planet like she prays for the President.  That has about as much chance of having any neat term effect.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Uh, no we are not. Yet another Dem lie.

the United States is still in

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

Bravo, Nancy! Keep the flame alive and let's hope that next year is Trump's last year in office.

"Trump is an aberration!"

Joe Biden

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Thank you to the US delegation attending. It shows that some people are willing to step up.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Yes we are.

Wait for another year and ' The Stupids' will no longer run America.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

This is encouraging. Having an ignoramus conspiracy theorist as leader and a deranged religious crackpot as VP is catastrophic for the planet.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Good on Pelosi and the Democrats for flying the flag of the more rational side of US politics at the summit, but in order to be truly "in" you've got to get the current President and his climate change denying party "out".

Trump says complying with the accord would hurt the U.S. economy

Trump and his global elite backers profiting from the fossil economy want the subsidies (aka welfare/socialism for the rich) to continue. Of course Trump's oligarch friends, especially those from Russia, the Gulf theocracies and elsewhere, want him to continue to push his 1950's fossil fuel powered economy.

Conservative estimates put U.S. direct subsidies to the fossil fuel industry at roughly $20 billion per year; with 20 percent currently allocated to coal and 80 percent to natural gas and crude oil. European Union subsidies are estimated to total 55 billion euros annually
