Burning Bush

In American government, nobody can trust anybody else.

Paranoia is setting in and that leads down a dangerous path.

But, in Russian government, everybody trusts everybody else.

No paranoia at all.

Yeah, right.

"During the debates Clinton and Trump had this exchange:

Hillary: "Well, Puttin would prefer to have a puppet as a President of the United States."

Trump: "No, no! You're the puppet!"

Well, we all know now who the big puppet turned out, don't we?"

Yeah. Oh my...

BTW, I'm not a big Hillary fan either, just less of a Trump fan.

"Trump is a danger to U.S. national security"

That would be Hillary Clinton. Classified information on unencrypted server and all that.

@bass

Gosh, bass, there are more facts and truths in that one quote by Carl Bernstein than has come out of Trump's mouth since he taken office. But honestly, bass, you didn't even bother to read it, did you?

Let's just do a checklist of the Bernstein quote I used above;

The U.S,. is in a constitutional crisis . . . Check!

There is not a special congressional bi-partisan committee to review this . . . Check!

There is no such bi-partisan committee because congress is dysfunctional . . . Check!

President Trump is contemptuous of the rule of law . . . Check!

Trump is a liar . . . Check!

Trump is unfit to be president (Remember Trump in Helsinki with Putin?) . . . Oh, yeah! A Big Check on that one! Benedict Donald really showed his true colors that day.

Trump is a danger to U.S. national security . . . Check again!

Trump doesn't understand the use and function of of the Justice Department . . . Check!

The Press and the First Amendment is working . . . Check!

@bass

It all looks spot on to me. What exactly do you disagree with here?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I trust the NY Times and the reporting they do.

Do you, black?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

The article is obviously fake, that’s the point.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

mukashi - What good would taping his mouth shut do? Twitter still hasn't terminated his account, lol.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

I think he meant "tape his mouth shut."

2 ( +2 / -0 )

You know, the one where the REPUBLICAN senior official said the President was a danger to the republic?

Which we cannot concretely say in the same way we cannot determine the innocence of Kavanaugh just because someone made an accusation and the same goes for the worst paper that essentially declared war on the President by people that harbor bias attitudes.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Well, I'm confused - as has been mentioned above, this story was published in the NY Times, and Trump has tweeted that *"The failing @nytimes has become a newspaper of fiction."*

So which is it Trumpers, if this story is true then the Anonymous article from the "Senior White House Official" is true also, correct? You know, the one where the REPUBLICAN senior official said the President was a danger to the republic?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

If one is gonna believe the NYT, then one has to believe the NYT before too, and vice versa

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Oh yeah so Ny Times broke the story and CNN confirmed “elements” of it. ( yes, Rod Rosenstein IS the Deputy AG).

So it’s obviously illegal to do what those liberal media confirmed he did. He is lying in his denial. So why does Chuckie Schumer support him and demand he NOT be fired?

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

"I think we have got to look at a number of factors here and one is that we are in a constitutional crisis. And part of that crisis is for instance is that there ought to be committees in congress to which Mr. Rosenstein could explain what happened, what he said and there be a bi-partisan committee of congress at which some facts could come out in an impartial way and we would learn the full story after the New York Times has broken this hugely important piece of reporting. Unfortunately, there is no such committee because we are in a constitutional crisis where the congress of the United States is totally dysfunctional. On top of that we have a president of the United States who is contemptuous of the rule of law, that one of the things that Mr. Rosenstein we know has been concerned about for months and months is that contempt for the rule of law, the president's lying, and now he joins a long list of people in this presidency who fear that the president of the United States is not fit to be the president, is a danger to the national security, does not understand what the proper use and the function of the justice department is, so all of these things are converging at the time of a mid-term election in which the president is going to throw all of this meat to his base to see what can be chewed up to somehow keep a majority in congress, but, meanwhile, we have the spectacle of little confidence in the president of the United States by those around him, little confidence in the congress of the United States by almost anyone. And the one element of the system that's working, the press, the First Amendment. The fake news of the NY Times as the president would have it has broken this story. CNN has confirmed elements of it. All of the critics . . . it's the one element that's working here."

Carl Berstein 9/22/2018

You might as well quote Michael Moore, jeeez!

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

So who is lying? Liberals assure me Rosenstein isn’t corrupt, that The NY Times is a truthful reporters of the news and that McCabe didn’t lie and was unjustly fired.

yet at least 1 of the 3 are lying. Which one?

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

U.S. official in Russia probe

U.S. official?

What’s with this pathetic MSM headline? It was Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, and ONLY Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

Anyone else sick and tired of this nurtured and corrupt MSM? They’re either too scared of their deep state globalist handlers or sitting right along side of them.

So when do we setup a gofundme account for Rosenstein?

Nobody is stopping you.

Why is anti-trump NY Times attacking anti-Trump Rosenstein? Liberals really losing the narrative.

Conservatives have lost the plot when they see the NY Times reporting something that ruins the conservative narrative that The NY Times is anti-Trump.

It's evidence that the Times reports news. You guys are all over the shop.

last gasp, Trump fires Rosenstein and you go back to “but muh obstruction of justice”again?

Yeah, cause obstruction of justice isn't that serious of a crime. It's not as if we want to live in a society that respects the rule of law.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Which as it would seem to be nothing worth losing any sleep over

This statement isn't supported by reality.

. Rosenstein is a bug eyed idiot.

Clever. Ad hominem attacks bolster an argument as much as personal anecdotes.

Rosenstein gave a lawyerly answer and did not deny that he said what he was purported to have said. The deep state rats are beginning to turn on one another. Rosenstein is overseeing an investigation against the president. Even if he were joking, and the Times reports that he was not, what message does that send to people like Page and Stzok who thanks to Nunez we now know were hostile to the president and discussed insurance policies and made claims that they would see to it that he did not become president. I have never heard of such a corrupt cabal within the American government - seriously seeking to overthrow a democratically elected president.

Rosenstein should be fired immediately and Trump needs to clean house in the executive suite of the FBI.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

This is going to get good. And it makes me worder how much Mueller has. ;)

Everything is being monitored, so no new news.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Ironic. Now Trump is going to have to support the "failing" NYT.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

The story is based on sources NOT present during the conversations.

Ahhh, so now the left is concerned with reliable sources...ok, so here they are not? Ok, that means it's not true? LOL

A witness who WAS present disputes NYT's account (said it's sarcastic).

As Jonathan Turley and Dershowiz have said, there is no way you can call anything like that a joke, nor would anyone take it as a joke, the only joke is Rosenstein for opening up his stupid mouth.

Rosenstein said story is "inaccurate" and "factually incorrect."

Rosenstein has said a lot of things that were flat out lies.

This serves Trump's motive to fire Rosenstein.

Is this real reporting?

It is, Rosenstein should be fired.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Obviously has the same “friend” that Comey had to leak his memos. I’m sure McCabe needs this for the book he will write (from prison).

McCabe's lawyer, Michael Bromwich, said he has no knowledge of how his memos were made available.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Trump asked Comey to pledge loyalty to him

That's enough for me. YOUR FIRED!

suggested

Apparently ‘suggesting’ is a thought crime to Trump backers. Trump's cementing the dystopian future long written about.

I@burningbsh n American government, nobody can trust anybody else.

It’s getting to that point. When an executive, in this case Trump, tries to establish himself as a demigod and sets a tone most similar to those found in despot led totalitarian regimes like China, Russia, Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia and elsewhere distrust is to be expected.

Trump and his White House goons, aided by Bannon and ultra-rightist global media outlets like Fox 'news' and other Murdoch media, Putin's global media outlets, whack job conspiracy media like infowars, Putin financed youtube videos and so many others, have made FEAR their number one propaganda tool. Unfortunately the intellectually vulnerable are easily cowed when the executive tells them to be.

When intelligence agencies charged with upholding laws are discredited and attacked along with the judicial system (a branch fundamental to US democracy), when any media outlet that doesn’t print only positive articles about the executive is also attacked and discredited, and when there’s a base of supporters deifying the executive who’s divided the nation into an us v. them world, distrust is to be expected.
