This should not be mistaken for tolerance of Russian aggression against Europe. To the contrary, Russia is preparing for a long war against Europe. FNATO is signaling a willingness to allow a peaceful withdrawal of all Russian forces from Europe, today. Russia should accept that offer while it is still available.

US privately asks Ukraine to show Russia it's open to talks - Washington Post:

If this is from the relatively reliable WP, one would reckon it happened.

White House must have come to an awful realization that Kyiv seems to have insatiable craze for aid that could drive US dry.. (?)

Russia gets the Dombas, Kherson and Zaporizhia and Ukraine gets to keep Odessa as a face saver.

Ukraine retains all Ukraine territory including Dombas, Kherson, Crimea and Zaporizhia and Russia gets all its troops back and the separatist's who want to live in Russia. Ukraine gets war reparations for damage to civilian structures and infrastructure and joins the EU and NATO. Provided this is all agreed to, Ukraine will agree to no personal repercussions for Putin for his war crimes.

Other Russians, Ukrainians and mercinaries found guilty of war crimes to be prosecuted under international war crimes tribunal conducted by neutral parties.

Americans need to understand that this war is probably the most cost effective war you have ever been a part of. You spend less per day than you have ever done in the middle east and without loosing your own troops, and it will have way bigger positive impact than any war fought in the middle east. With a weakened Russia there could be a lot of money saved on overall global defense for the foreseeable future.

Nothing wrong about this statement from Mr. Zelensky.

However, who is "our people"

Yesterday, a civilian judge was brutally shot in Eastern Ukraine.

He was presiding over the trial of 2 Americans and a Moroccan after they were captured by East Ukrainian separatists.

There was no condemnation of this attack from Kyiv, even though an East Ukrainian judge was shot in cold blood.

Is this East Ukrainian judge considered part of "our people" when Zelensky spoke of peace?

Are you talking about Alexander Nikulin? He is the puppet judge that sentenced foreign soldiers to die, I think he chose where he stand.

I wonder about the timing. Just short before Ukrainian forces are going to free Kherson and its so obvious Puti must feel so hopeless as a child. Losing Kherson will indicate his lost, ruin his political image in russia. Currently russian elites are seriously dissatisfied with all this war and Puti slowly but definitely losing his ‘game’ so no wonder hes worried and tries every means (including some Washington connections left) to get Ukraine to negotiate , BUT ON HIS TERMS, while not everything is lost yet, leaving Ukraine again scattered, DREAM ON.

I read this judge gave a death penalty to those soldiers. Hes also a Ukraine’s traitor and collaborator. Even in this case, me too, Im against killing any civilian person, but we dont know who did that Ukraine or not considering those soldiers must have had comrades from their countries as well. Still its true that theres a strong partisan movement in occupied territories, well, i guess thats what you get when occupying other country’s lands.

It's not that simple when there is the option of going nuclear for the Russians. US intelligence have more info than we see in the news, and they are probably have daily updates on Putins state of mind. They probably feel that he is mentally unstable enough to go doomsday on us if backed in to a corner and hope to end things before that. Also have to do with the upcoming senate election where Republicans are bound to take seats, which might interfere with future support of Ukraine. For the US sending Ukraine money and equipment this is a total win/win, sadly with a population where 50% can't take in information beyond Fox entertainment one liners it's hard to get that across.

Smart move.

Firstly it paints the Russians in a bad light when they don't come to the table in good faith.

Secondly, Putin's reign depends on him maintaining is position as the strong man of Russia. Any weakness or perceived weakness in his strategy dents this image. If the Ukrainians drive the Russians back, or the carnage gets too much for the Russian people, Putin can negotiate, rather than reaching for the WMDs or a full mobilization.

The paper quoted unnamed people

Well you can't get more reliable than that. Must be true.

Russia gets the Dombas, Kherson and Zaporizhia and Ukraine gets to keep Odessa as a face saver.

It's Putin who needs the face-saver. No reason why Ukraine should give him one, after what he's done.

Is this East Ukrainian judge considered part of "our people" when Zelensky spoke of peace?

A pro-russian traitor sentencing to death people fighting to free Ukraine from the invaders? Looks like he chose which side he's on. How much respect do you think traitors deserve?

They should not be forcibly moved, nor have their language, cultural heritage and traditions eradicated.

Your ruzzian friends are the ones forcibly removing people from their homes and deporting them into ruzzia against their will. It is also your ruzzian friends who are(were) confiscating Ukrainian school textbooks and forcing teachers to teach in the ruzzian language from the ruzzian curriculum, those refusing to do so being intimidated, threatened, and tortured.

https://www.kyivpost.com/russias-war/ukrainian-teachers-speak-of-intimidation-torture-for-refusing-to-teach-russian.html

“At the beginning of the school term, we were told we would have to teach our students that Ukraine was a territory of Russia, namely Malorossiya [Little Russia].” “Parents were threatened that if they didn’t send their children back to school, their kids would be taken to an orphanage,”

(Yes, it's a Ukrainian news site. I tried to find a mention of education in Kharkiv on the Russia Today 'news' site, but there was a big fat nothing. Strange, that. You'd think they'd want to brag about how all the little ruzzian children born to Little Russian parents were at last being taught according to their cultural heritage and traditions.)

Apparently this poster has been asleep the last 9 months while Russian military has been shown to be a paper tiger.

This is why diplomacy and cool-headedness by serious men are now asked to step in.

We cannot be steered in the direction of mushroom clouds by those who are over-emotional.

Well well well. Guess whatever dirt Zelensky “has” oh Biden doesn’t matter anymore after Democrats lose the election anyway.

When looking at the total U.S. defense budget, Ukraine is costing just a very small fraction. Keep up the pressure! Go Ukraine! Remember, they’re the ones doing the most difficult part so we don’t have to.

Americans need to understand that this war is probably the most cost effective war you have ever been a part of. You spend less per day than you have ever done in the middle east and without loosing your own troops,

So I guess you are admitting that this is a proxy war of the Biden regime against Russia...

the total U.S. defense budget,

Ukraine is part of the United States now?
