MUCH harder to conduct 'spin' when cat's out to the bag!

Easy to handle, don’t mark it confidential, secret, top secret with those big letter stamps as that obviously draws big attention and produces severe data or document leaks. Mark it otherwise, with one or a few small paper punch code wholes or something like that. For example on the left side length a little whole at 25% length for confidential, or 75% for secret or both for top secret eyes only etc. Even if someone goes through the file with the dumb , nothing to see or detect. Then just mix it with old, useless or uninteresting papers and printouts following a certain algorithm to find it quickly if needed, every primary number page is relevant only, pages 19, 23, 29, 31, 37 as pointers and the real hidden document on another page completely unmarked for example. Finally put it aside openly, near a shredder machine , but of course ensure that the shredder is permanently ‘temporarily out of work’. I promise, no one will show any interest or can leak anything of it. They all just don’t even know or care that those papers exist and are really there.

@Sven Asai - your supposition for handling documents isn't how classified material is handled.

All joking aside, biggest implication likely political. Talking heads can now be easily called out, so busy doing damage control right now, so we'll NOT be hearing any war related public updates this week from #46!

Takes ONE landmine to kill and not just soldiers!

Another document, marked "Top Secret" and from a CIA Intel update from March 1, says the Mossad intelligence agency was encouraging protests against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plans to tighten controls on the Supreme Court.

More important would seem to be that intelligence agencies astroturf fake protests against extreme establishment targets like neocon Netanyahu in order to neuter actual opposition to rightist policies.

Which has been pretty apparent in the West since the days of COINTELPRO.

In this day and age, it's hard to control information and it'll happen, but it surely must also swing both ways. Besides, how do you really know what the difference is between information which is false from truth? During WWII various kinds of information was intentionally leaked with the intention of misleading adversaries. It's nothing new and they've been doing it for thousands of years.

yeah its all real documents that require an investigation into the leak!

Well except the places in the real documents that dont match the previous narrative, those parts were "slightly altered".

yeah, sure thing.

surveillance of allies

U.S. has no allies. Anyone who is not them, is just a pawn in their game.

I think thunk someone saw this as a lost cause, and throwing good money after bad

Some of the documents, which US officials say are authentic, expose the extent of US eavesdropping on key allies, including South Korea, Israel and Ukraine.

this is great, huh?

Still others divulge key weaknesses in Ukrainian weaponry, air defense, and battalion sizes and readiness at a critical point in the war

oh really??

Gains for Ukraine will be hard to accomplish, but it does not help to have the private US assessment pointing to a likely yearlong stalemate revealed publicly,” the official said.

but it’s true. RIP to the “spring offensive”.

“The Times said that the documents appear to show that the U.S. is spying on Ukraine’s top military and political leaders.”

wonder how Zelensky feels about Grampa Joe now?

The documents show top Ukraine leaders offering grim assessments in the ongoing fight for Bakhmut, with General Kyrylo Budanov, Ukraine’s director of military intelligence, saying that the situation was “catastrophic” at the time of the report.

not what posters here been claiming.

Rules based international systems, blah blah

With friends like that...

Another document gave details of internal discussions among senior South Korean officials about U.S. pressure on Seoul to help supply weapons to Ukraine, and its policy of not doing so.

Confirms that a lot of the "news" reported here and elsewhere can be misleading or simply false, and disseminated for the purpose of manipulating public opinion etc.

I'm going out on a limb and say this White House administration is totally clueless, FWIW it could be a NK, China, RU hack, it could be a deliberate attempt by the Pentagon to Whiteant the White House...

But, right on cue, the White House jumps straight to a conclusion, just to prove they're with the nain stream media narrative.

Glad public's eyes starting to open, benefit of this leak?

Serious analysts ALWAYS consider what's NOT being covered by mainstream media and assume what's being covered is largely donkey doo...

e.g. Try to find something substantive on Ukrainian domestic military recruitment/draft? Global crop yields? Russian weapons proliferation to NK, Iran, China, etc.

Suppression's another KEY aspect Govt. controlled media propaganda agenda.

People with access to classified info can and sometimes do leak and sell to foreign powers. The Walker family scandal of 1985, remember? One retired senior chief, one officer and one enlisted - all Navy personnel, all selling stuff they had access to to the Soviets. And they did it for the money, not because they loved Communism.

And it goes on now. The biggest crime was when Donald Trump sold out to Putin so he could get into the WH.

It's ALL self-serving agenda driven speculation, same as many China Biden linked conspiracies. Lets see proof before such wild accusations, this thing due process?!

It's up to Congress and legislative bodies around the world to better safeguard national security, hopefully we can all agree on that!

this is great, huh?

This is quite common.

Start with biden

It's also going to lead to MANY collaborators being tortured and eliminated, after they've shared more sensitive info naturally.

Imagine it was you putting your life one the line? Such incompetence will not exactly inspire others to continue doing so.

From a Russian standpoint, it'll be gift that keeps on giving, pure quagmire now in Putin's backyard, anyone really believe Biden can outfox Mr. KGB himself?

Any surprise Biden's holding off on formally announcing?

For anyone interested, please search "SolarWinds", considered largest and most successful attack EVER on US Govt. AND their many critical vendors. Russian naturally, Putin's got SO MUCH MORE sensitive info,

Makes this incident look like kiddie play actually!
