I hope it falls on the Great Hall of the People.

Oh, pray for whatever cosmic justice the universe may have that this would happen. Let's see the CCP try to worm their way out of that!

China has a history of their toxic space junk bombarding unfortunate people. Not sure whether due to uncaring carelessness or incompetence. Let’s not forget it was the CCP who deliberately blew up a spacecraft to “demonstrate” their anti missile tech so creating a massive debris field endangering every other satellite in orbit!

Or even better, this?

First corona, now rockets...what is next for the commies in china to neglect to the detriment of every other nation?

Expand your perceptual world just a tad...

While we are dissing the Chinese for losing control of their rocket, we would do well to ask how many have died so far due to this disastrous event for the Chinese space program? And then ask, at an equal point of development, how many died on the Challenger, how many on the Columbia, and with wreckage spread across a wide area? And both of these events were due to almost criminal NEGLECT and incompetence on the part of Corporate (Challenger, engineering manager) and going that one further step (Columbia, an inspection roll). And the craziest thing here is that, in the pursuit of Mankind's greatest task which might even make us worthy of long term survival, we divide our efforts, ridicule our fellow Human's achievements, and look exactly like the psychotic monkeys we really are. China's failures in this effort, America's failures, Russia, Japan...in the long term, these are all MANKIND'S failures...and in this arena, being pleased that a 'rival' has suffered a misfortune is a personal failure beyond most...

SpaceX had a pressure vessel fall onto slightly-populated NW USA last April.

If China didn't design for a controlled re-entry burn up over oceans, then it is negligent. But if they did and something went wrong, that's called an accident.

This is a Chicken Little story designed to make people afraid for sensationalism, not the reality. There is a 30% chance it will hit land. Of that 30%, it is extremely unlikely to hit any population areas. Much of the planet is wilderness and farms.

Relax until there is something to be afraid. That will come in about 2 days, if it happens at all.

I hope they get some good video of it. Spent Rocket Stages Matter.

Another "gift" from the CCP. Could make for a good movie script!

"Rocket Devastates __(enter your choice)".

How about Martha's Vineyard?

"It makes the Chinese rocket designers look lazy that they didn't address this," he said, calling the situation "negligent."

The CCP had put up a Weibo post mocking the Indian Covid deaths and comparing it with their space program.

If this rocket end up killing people, who will the CCP mock?

Wouldn't be a surprise if they end up mocking the people they kill!!!

China doesn't give a crap about where their spent stages fall or even organsing safe launch pad. There are numerous cases of them raining toxic rocket trash, and even incinerating entire villages.

Highly irresponsible Russian.... er, Chinese roulette.

They are gambling that it will not hit a populated area, with less certainty than the efficacy of most vaccines.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

There is a chance that pieces of the rocket could come down over land, perhaps in a populated area, as in May 2020, when pieces from another Chinese Long March 5B...

WOW! who knows there is a chance that one can program satellite to hit calculated target in "uncontrolled circumstances" and this is just one of the hit-trial method.

A job for Buzz Lightyear.

That quite contradicts. Although in general 70% is covered by ocean, the according zones stated above are instead those with all continents included and almost all major populated areas, therefore significantly lower than 70%, don’t you think so? But who really cares...if you luckily aren’t affected you don’t care and if you are hit dead by the debris you also don’t care anymore.

Oh, the CCP…..never a dull moment

Bruce Wayne CCP are not soon to be rulers of the world unless people stand by idly and let them, which is not going to happen in my life time.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

The CCP stole every piece of idea and technology to amass wealth and power but they couldn't care to copy how to make a responsible re-entry. Why would they? They are soon to be the rulers of the world, screw everyone else!

22 tons of space junk just for you Made in China. Heads up, everybody!

17 ( +19 / -2 )

Remnants of a large Chinese rocket launched last week are expected to plunge back through the atmosphere this weekend in an uncontrolled re-entry

This shows clearly that the Chinese space program is still decades behind both Russia and the US at least on making sure via calculations when and where the rocket will land. Still playing catch up.

CCP doesn't care everyone knows that .

Absolutely!
