Aid can't be diverted into people's pockets. Maybe belt and road can help them fund their leaders.

Until they plundered the continent of all their natural resources then it’s back to square one of seeing starving people in that part of the word.
Not for the people that are suffering under it.
The world is, China won’t be any different.

That'll be impressive: Russia and China building abroad without having first stolen the land on which it sits and emptying it of people. I highly doubt it, though.

That's just funny. China opened a new 4km underwater tunnel earlier this week. Unfortunately, it has huge leaks and vehicles were driving through over 0.5m of water in one lane.
Don't let China build any infrastructure unless you want junk and death. In 2021, another Chinese tunnel flooded killing about 900 people, though the CCP claimed just 12 died. Then the memorials for all the dead people started filling the train station ... and the CCP sent in the military to hide the rememberances at first, then to keep people away, and finally to remove them all. Seems the CCP doesn't like things that kill people, but not enough to jail all those people responsible, because they are CCP members and skimmed 20-+% from the contract rather than building something save. It is even worse with overseas projects. China requires anyone who accepts their infrastructure help to stop commerce with Taiwan. Most times, they aren't gifts, but loans. Debt-trap diplomacy by China is real. They are finally becoming sensitive and have allowed restructuring of some loans, mainly in Africa.
Anyway, if the aid is being redirected away from those intended to get it who are in great need, there's little the US can do without sending in military. Some places, the US wants to help, but not risk US military and the local govts aren't stable enough to agree. Unfortunately, the shipments need to stop, so those people stealing it don't profit.

Why is China not helping out with food?
Good on the USA - people need food first, more than building roads
What good is a road when people are dead

Because there's no profit for China in Ethiopia. That's my guess. Plus, the CCP will blame the US (everything wrong anywhere is the fault of the US according to the CCP) for a few more weeks.
