Uber drivers assaulted in Belgium

Uber may be a convenient way for young tech savvy yuppies to grab a ride but it is putting a lot of low paid taxi drivers with mouths to feed out of business. Personally even when I was a young man I did not care for hitchhiking or taking a ride with a total stranger that may or may not be a whack job. It is easy for nut cases to pass Uber's OK test to drive and it's not going to be long before an Uber taxi driver murders a rider and then the whole system will go out of business.

Well where I live to travel on a highway for 5 km costs 36$. The market always dictates profitabilty. perhaps the governments need to lessen the costs to these taxi drivers.
