Good riddance to the unscrupulous abominable oaf.

10 ( +16 / -6 )

the unions that control the Labour Party threw up the Hamas-loving, extreme left-wing Jeremy Corbyn

Literally nothing about this is true.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

Let's go Brexit!

Cripes! Someone hasn’t been paying attention.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Good timing, he was starting to look ‘like some illegal settler in the Sinai desert, lashing himself to the radiator, or like David Brent haunting The Office in that excruciating episode when he refuses to acknowledge that he has been sacked’

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Woohoo ....

Until you look at those lining up to replace him....

Well, the people voted this government in so they deserve all they get.

6 ( +13 / -7 )

The chief whip isn't the party standards enforcer as these people are suggesting, the position actually involves tallying the count and relaying communication between members and their leadership.

Pincher was deputy chief whip, but the job if the whips is very much to maintain order among the ranks and make sure they vote as desired. It is not some administrative job as you describe.

Pincher the Pinch, as he is known, was not subject to a conspiracy by a "cabal", but voluntarily resigned the morning after. And appointing him in the first place was a massive error of judgement.

Some top Tories looking to get Johnson out the door quicker than he plans.

Not much time left to do any more damage although he might try to knob Nadine Dorries if he hasn’t already done so.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Sad to see him go.

lol tell us again how confident you were that he’d continue as PM for years

6 ( +8 / -2 )

The British political system is well and truly broken.

How so? A man who was clearly unfit to lead has been put out to pasture.

Under the Parliamentary system of government, voters don't actually vote for a Prime Minister. Their votes elect a political party to appoint a leader. In this case the Conservative party was elected, and Boris was their leader.

This sort of thing has happened many, many times previously. In fact in recent years few PMs have actually been 'voted' out of office, they've either been replaced or resigned.

This is in no way unusual.

But actually, you're right, it is a bit of a mess recently.

miles better than the alternatives on offer

Syble Faulty said it best:

”I’ve seen more qualified things lying on their backs at the bottom of a pool.”

A head of shredded lettuce could have been more competent. There are individuals in a vegetative state who conduct deeper analysis. I am out of analogies for how unfit he is for public office.

My apologies about forgetting the wallpaper. One does tend to forget when there this many cock-ups...

and Labour are worse, not to mention the small detail that they have wrecked our economy every time they have been in power

This is exactly where the Murdoch press fool the electorate with the old smoke and mirrors accusations against the Labour Party whilst the country is on it's knees from Tory Brexit and Johnson.

No health service, no dental service, energy bills crippling people, airports at a standstill, the railways at war, food prices through the roof and you talk about Labour...

5 ( +8 / -3 )

He accomplished the greatest move for the UK for taking it out of the EU; as per the request of the UK people.

He didn't even do that. It was Theresa May who did all the hard work. Johnson turned up at the end to take all the glory (of the worst political decision ever by the electorate/ government in my lifetime).

because the unions that control the Labour Party threw up the Hamas-loving, extreme left-wing Jeremy Corbyn

Here lies another prime example of Murdoch press lies. Just because a politician supports Palestine he was then presented as anti-semitic and Hamas-loving. The "extreme left" is another press word game. Corbyn supported the common good for the majority, not riches for the elite. And they term it extreme left.

A very professional resignation speech. All the very best for the future Boris

Lmao! A professional idiot's resignation speech.

Who would imagine that such a buffoon could rise to the top of British politics (much like a bloated corpse floating to the top of a bog)?

He has always been an insufferable oaf ever since his school days. A smarmy entitled tosser.

As a “journalist” before being fired for incompetence) he managed to be on both sides of every issue.

His support of BREXIT, the biggest mistake since Gallipoli, based on lies and falsehoods is now coming home to roost.

His administration was a never-ending cascade of scandals involving booze, rule-breaking during a lock down, bullying, porn (because of course there was), harassment and just general stupidity.

And the hair, oh my God, let’s talk about the hair. It’s not that his hair is just bad, it’s that it’s bad on purpose. The man cannot be honored to groom to meet with important people. One one level, it’s even worse than Chump’ swirlie or Zuck’s dumb and dumber do....

Bojo wants to compare himself to Churchill but Churchill won a war and had the excuse of being a drunk. Bojo hasn’t done anything of the kind and isn’t even an entertaining drunk.

Who would imagine that such a buffoon could rise to the top of British politics

Nearly everyone familiar with British politics, unfortunately.

and Labour are worse, not to mention the small detail that they have wrecked our economy every time they have been in power.

Apart from the very previous time they were in power, when Blair enjoyed a decade of growth, low inflation and a 20% growth in real wages.

The only realistic outcome from the whole thing, persevering for so long only made him look terribly bad. Lets see how the UK turns out from now on.

4 ( +9 / -5 )

Shame his resignation wasn’t ‘oven ready’. He’ll shamble on for a few more months as PM but unfortunately it won’t be the last we see of this unflushable turd.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

It was Thatcher that after lots of sell offs and harsh austerity that allowed Blair (the funds) to spend and spend! Nothing to do with Blair…

Nonsense boy. Look, I'm no fan of Blair, but he was there for almost a decade and the economy did very well whilst he was running the shop. He has to get some credit for that. You can't attribute it all to a PM who was thrown out 6 years earlier, although he obviously was massively influenced by her.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

The mere fact that he was proud of making Brexit happen is cause enough for him to get the boot. Glad he's gone. Go get a haircut and lie low in the countryside somewhere, ya useless muppet!

4 ( +7 / -3 )

I am hoping the new PM will hold a snap election to get a real mandate, but if not, there won't be an election until January 2025. We may have quite a wait before we get a chance to clear out the current Tory rabble. Happy to see the back of Boris, but slightly concerned about who might replace him.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Not a supporter of this guy, and not defending him, but I'm mildly surprised this was what forced him to step down. The reasons while he is at fault but isn't necessary him alone at fault and it is his own party that is forcing his hand.

When people tried to quit on DT he had a long list of individuals to just assign to the vacant post and it essentially did nothing but bolster his support.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

credited with rolling out one of the world’s most successful mass vaccination campaigns to combat COVID-19.

Yeah, while the Queen is all by herself in Winchester Cathedral to mourn her husband, Bozo and his cabinet partied like it was 1999, down in #10 Downing Street. He had COVID-19 the year before, survived it and then set a bad example for his fellow Brits with these shenanigans.

RedstormToday  10:22 pm JST

Boris is already in a swamp and sinking fast. He accepted no blame for the situation he created for himself. His own people want him gone.

He's acted like a totally buffoonish oaf deluxe. He made the UK look bad, Bye bye Bozo. Bye byyyyyyeeeee.....

3 ( +5 / -2 )

He accomplished the greatest move for the UK for taking it out of the EU; as per the request of the UK people.

Isn't it great when the majority of people get what they voted for, wouldn't you agree? Imagine if the minority had gotten their wish to remain in the EU.

That would have been undemocratic, right?

2 ( +5 / -3 )

For god’s sake just GO.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

It’a a relief to see that British Conservatives have more honour, conscience and understanding of the need to defend democracy than American Republicans.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

@Nemo

You forgot the wallpaper!

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Yeah, 14,000,000 punters CAN be wrong and were wrong to let the shaggy comb-over (80% of head covered by 20% hair) clown "take back control" with his "oven-ready" full-English Brexit scam. Now even with the good riddance of Johnson the country is still stuck with the hapless Tories in charge of the economy which means that to restore the financial health of the UK and prevent its disintegration by canning Brexit and rejoining the EU, Tory politicians who enabled the Brexit debacle will have to be given the bum's rush by penitent voters with buyer's remorse and holding their nose while casting their vote for Labour's "gizza job" small-c conservative, Sir Keir.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

This lame duck of a politician will continue to be in his post for some time. What a disaster. Paralysis goes on.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

The chief whip isn't the party standards enforcer as these people are suggesting, the position actually involves tallying the count and relaying communication between members and their leadership.

This cabal has nullified his whip with the intention of hamstringing him through so far unsubstantiated allegations and now want to draw their leader into their tawdry little affair because they say he knew about the allegations, as if they had any significance to the orderly operation of party affairs at the time.

Well I'm sure that they've all had allegations of one sort or another levelled at themselves at some point in their lives and seem quite comfortable with their positions for now. Their virtue signaling is just a mechanism for a plain old power grab by disloyal party members who are bringing their party into disrepute while gaslighting Johnson with the megaphone of a bully pulpit saying that he's guilty of what they're doing.

He's perfectly entitled to replace the entire cabinet, he is the Prime minister, and provide sound government to the people of Great Britain up until the next election. Then take it to the people and let them decide the constituency of their parliament instead of this whole nameless faceless back room deal making nonsense that the Tory party are famous for.

To me this is just a politician fighting to keep his job while other politicians fighting to get his job.

What goes around comes around.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

The embarrassing fact that an electoral majority voted for that fraudulent bufoon whilst flying their anti-Brussels/ anti-immigration flags, is the very reason why I will not retire in the U.K but in Asia. Don't just blame Johnson for being such a fraud - also blame the voters for putting such a liability in power.

The body language of the politicians tell it all. UK be careful of what you are asking for, look at the 10 poli-ticks waiting in line to get the job. Things go down hill from here.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Was hoping he would prove everyone wrong and be a successful PM. But there are rarely such surprises in life.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

How can 50 person give up their jobs? Probably they have security in the public structure or party. Boris has x number of ex wifes, side prostitutes, 6 or 7 children and a lot of white shirts and suits by measure to pay. I understand him.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Zelensky must be crying now. Boris promised him all sorts of things- money, weapons etc.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Boris was only in power because the unions that control the Labour Party threw up the Hamas-loving, extreme left-wing Jeremy Corbyn to take him on and the conservative party had no talent at all. Boris was less popular in 2019 than Theresa May in 2017, and she has been repeatedly voted the worst PM of the UK ever. Starmer seems normal for a Sir, but Frankie Boyle said he reminded him of someone playing the part of a Prime minister in an old Spice Girls video. Perhaps Sir will get jolly batey at least. Some of the conservative names out there are worrying. Patel, Truss, rees-Mogg, Shapps, Zahawi, Gove. The cupboard truly is bare, and thus we had Boris.

Ah, another of the many Clown World governments unravels.

Boris Johnson resigns LIVE: PM will QUIT and address the country TODAY after cabinet urged him to ‘go now’ and dozens of Tories fled his sinking government.

The Johnson regime is among the first to fall, but it won’t be the last. And while it’s not because of the UK support of The Empire That Never Ended’s war on the sovereign world, Johnson’s attempt to nail himself to the Ukraine cause certainly didn’t help.

Isn't it great when the majority of people get what they voted for, wouldn't you agree? Imagine if the minority had gotten their wish to remain in the EU.

It is great for the UK. The people got what they wanted and deserved. Why would someone in Liverpool want to rely on decision making in Belgium?

That would have been undemocratic, right?

Well, in a way, the UK's democracy is an undemocratic one, so that is the government you gotta live with.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Unfortunate, while he may not be the best we have ever had he is miles better than the alternatives on offer in the Conservative party, and Labour are worse, not to mention the small detail that they have wrecked our economy every time they have been in power.
