Japan has a higher level of government debt as a proportion of GDP by a long way, and it's GDP hasn't grown anywhere near as fast as the US in decades.
I'd offer that US market capitalism is not at fault for all that - it's certainly possible to stick with market capitalism in principle, while making changes that address other areas of the country.
I've never set foot in the USA myself, but I do admire the US for its example in free market capitalism. It's not shining beacon in other areas, but credit goes where it is due.

Indeed, with all the Russian and American interference going on, it makes a mockery of such voting.

About one million more than those who voted to remain.
So they won the referendum. All for nothing. No use having any more referendums then.

Nothing is free, things have to be paid for.
Yeah, it's the taxpayers, innit? And everybody knows who pays the bills in the 21st century: capitalism for the poor and "socialism" for the rich.
The UK's desperate ruling class are transparently bribing the electorate, offering to buy their votes in a shameless QPQ Ponzi scheme, but Corbyn's stall has the genuine articles and better deals for the majority. The result of the election will rest on whether after 3 years of chaos enough of those misguided Brexiteers now have buyers remorse and sufficient intelligence to ignore all the fake news and Johnson's asinine jibber-jabber.

OK, I give up. Socialism and high taxes rule. Also membership in the EU rules.
So why did so many people vote to leave? Wait, what's this...
Meanwhile, Johnson is surpressing a report on Russian interference in the Brexit referendum
It's the damn Russians again! Boy, they sure like interfering in elections! I want to know what the socialists are going to do about this!

A choice of widespread nationalisation and free public services, or a"dynamic market economy".
The independent observer in me believes strongly that the latter will win, here.
As the aside, I think the US has a big spending problem and ought to rein it in. Same goes for Japan.
Government is best when it is on the smaller side, and focuses on ensuring that the needy can adequately provide for themselves. Not trying to provide even for those who can adequately provide for themselves.

Both The Conservatives and Labour parties cannot reconcile their across the board, fiscal and monetary polices, without a considerable tax hike, in labours case also a unprecedented borrowing requirement.
Here is another pledge......

Only to be followed by this nonsense from the Conservatives....

Neither are remotely deliverable.....

One reason is that it has a bigger population than some other countries that have a bigger per capita GDP.

We'll see. There's a long history of socialism in the UK and he's doing surprisingly well in the various polls, despite all the attempts to smear him. And he'd stand up to Trump, too.
Meanwhile, Johnson is surpressing a report on Russian interference in the Brexit referendum.

There are a few reasons for that. Population, natural resources, economic system...
Going back to your idea of socialists spending too much, what do you think of Trump piling on the debt while the economy is good?
Serrano
The idea that Johnson wants to sell off the NHS to Trump and co. is terrifying.
The idea that Corbyn wants the government to run healthcare and raise taxes is terrifying. That's why he's not going to become the prime minister.

Scandi countries repeatedly top polls with the happiest citizens & best places to live.
It works well if you're fortunate to have money. It's a hellhole for poor people and those who can't afford crippling medical bills.
The idea that Johnson wants to sell off the NHS to Trump and co. is terrifying.

All the Scandinavian countries pay very high taxes...
That sucks! The government know how to spend your money better than you? I don't think so.
... but in return a better society...
That's a matter of opinion.
... for all the need of the people and few complain.
Bunch of sheep!
You've not heard of market socialism, then?
Yeah, but market capitalism works better. There's a reason the United States is the world's biggest economy.
Toasted Heretic
Gosh. Just imagine if the state and/or taxpayer funded the banks when their avarice put them out of business.
Strangerland
They don’t like it when you point out the socialist policies on their team.
Jimizo
True. Look at the out of control spending of Trump in the US which is piling on the debt.
This kind of fiscal irresponsibility is unacceptable.

Jeremy Corbyn's socialist vision, including widespread nationalisation and free public services
Nothing is free, things have to be paid for. Socialists never seem to learn this.
