He should meet with the families who waited 50 years for this.
And then on Bloody Sunday, the same regiment of paras, murdered 13 innocent people in Derry, the following year.
This so-called "conduct" (and internment) led to volunteers swelling the ranks of the IRA.

Follow up this apology with action like granting a referendum to NI to get a mandate for getting out of Ireland.

Some salient points here:
For 50 years the British establishment condemned these innocent victims, UK citizens killed by UK shock troops on UK streets (who included a mother of eight, a priest assisting those shot, a British soldier home on leave and a disabled WW2 veteran), as terrorists.
Johnson is expected to introduce a Troubles amnesty, which would mean no criminal investigation into these kinds of atrocities (including MILINT involvement in bombing Dublin and Monaghan (34 dead), running agents facilitating murders on both sides and thus prolonging the Troubles), and might even only apply to members of the armed forces. Don't expect to see it on JT.
Boris's cojonitos prevented him from apologising on TV. Excellent sleight of hand by Downing Street to prevent embarrassment when the above amnesty is announced.
Information on state forces killings of innocent civilians - despite zero threat to national security - remains classified and locked away like this:

Perhaps those lurkers downvoting might want to share their opinions and teach us something?

Nah, Mickelicious.
The lives of innocent Irish people mean nothing to them.
No matter how much history, contexts and facts are given.
They don't care.
