Diplomatic immunity is overused and abused. This woman needs to face the music and do some time.

Anyone driving on the wrong side of a road needs to be ticketed, at a minimum. Any injury deserves reckless driving charges.

The husband was a low-level diplomat and not stationed at the US embassy. Seems like a stretch for his wife to be granted complete immunity.

Have there been any similar incidents in Japan near US bases? I don't recall hearing of any.

video that showed a car driving on the wrong side of the road near RAF Croughton having a near miss with another vehicle

If it's the same video I saw, it's hard to tell whether it was driving on the wrong side of the road, or had just negotiated the bend badly and ended up on the wrong side of the road. It was a narrow road (no centre line markings).
