John Major and Theresa May, couldn't be a more unedifying example of incompetence, both were incapable of leadership. May after being installed as leader with a small "l", led one of the most blundering inefficient election campaigns of any party ever to grace office.
John Major promoted to unite the party, a healer, fumbled the Maastricht negotiations, Major attempted to face both ways on Europe stumbling mumbling his way into one crisis after another.
Major every sentence was contradictory in terms of a consistent message mumblings of the one before.
Theresa May vanished out of sight when the 2016 EU UK referendum took place. When in office May managed to create and agree to the very NI protocol that has brought the toxic political poo storm today.
Let be clear neither Boris Johnson or Theresa May are not responsible for Brexit, Nigel Farage and in some respects Dominic Cummings are the instigators and ultimately delivered the results.
The Red Wall seats were won by Boris Johnson not the conservative party.

It’a a relief to see that many British Conservatives have more honour, conscience and understanding of the need to defend democracy than most American Republicans.

A historically unpopular buffoon with ridiculous hair is shown the door, refuses to go and causes his citizens to fear for the stability of the government.
Sounds, er…. “Familiar.”
Thank God said buffoon lacks the access to WMD, oh wait….
BOJO gotta go….

Theresa May is not mentioned in the article. Why mention her here?
Johnson has been a terrible Prime Minister and has been deservedly turfed out by his own team. That is the main story here. Not how bad anyone else may have been years ago.
The next PM will have to sort out Johnson's unworkable Brexit deal that has created a trade border inside the UK itself. Imagine a trade barrier between Honshu and Hokkaido, it sounds farcical but that's what the UK signed up for. The risk here is that the goodwill given to the next PM for not being Johnson will evaporate quickly as Brexit comes up again and again on the news. A big part of Johnson's appeal was the false claim that Brexit was "done".

I don’t know how you rule Johnson out of this.
Johnson was one of the most effective, dishonest and high profile campaigners for Brexit after deciding that was the best route forward for his political career,
Pure opportunism as you’d expect but he was a major player.
Hysterical, irrelevant whining.
Wrong thread, lad.

LOL Boris stood by everyone that caused the scandal that he had to face as PM only for them to backstab him.
Patel - bullying public servants, savid by Boris
Sunak - he organised the covid parties, saved by Boris
Javid - had a strings of incompetent advisors (or he overruled them, we will never know), saved by Boris
Pincher - of all people, on his last leg, survived only because of the PM's backing.
The list is endless, the only reason why they can't agree who to replace him and kick him out soon is because they're all smelling blood and wants Boris' job. But it is what it is, Boris should know his team is capable of much more bastardry than this and it's his own fault for believing loyalty is reciprocal (like during his school days).

Johnson was tasked by his billionaire oligarch and corporate masters with managing Brexit and defeating Corbyn, both of which he delivered with the aid of Rupert Murdoch, the rest of the Tory press, the security services, the US, Israel and all the rest. His usefulness is at an end as he's become a too obvious embarrassment so it's time to go.
The real question is: given all his widely known character flaws why was he considered an appropriate leader? 50 years ago he wouldn't have passed the first hurdle. What has changed to make a lying, immoral, virtual sociopath acceptable to millions as a leader?

So, logic would dictate that "Boris Johnson not the conservative party" is also responsible for the reaming the Tories took in the recent by-elections, right? I mean if we are being consistent.....

Theresa May is very much front center in Johnsons past and resignation.
Johnson inherited May's failed Brexit negotiations, kohakuebisu, especially when considering recalling the context in which the 2019 election was held, because the writer of this article simply chooses to ignore it.
You may recall when Theresa May called an election in search of her own mandate, in essence to achieve a larger majority to deliver her version of Brexit.
Then failing on just about all counts, then having to resign in 2019.
Such failure emboldened/ensured that Boris Johnson would succeed her.
Jimizo,
Brexit: A Very British Coup? it is still on youtube. BBC
Have a view, got to be careful because topic.
But it gives an insight into Farage.
Johnson as you quite correctly stated played a role, stood by a bus offering NHS pots of gold at the end of the rainbow, but no disrespect to Johnson, he comes over as somewhat a gibbering so and so.
I will be fluttering on a hung parliament in the next general election. Went ever that election takes place.

I was watching the news last night were the announcers were talking about his upcoming resignation speech and what a big deal it was going to be, how Bojo was going to leave on a rhetorical high note.
It was almost as anti-climatic as when the other Orange Sociopath's plane departed with Sinatra's "My way" playing to a mostly empty grand stand.
So the similarities continue (albeit on a slightly less bat-feces crazy level.)

Maybe now he can get a proper haircut!

My opinion politically, is that one cannot view Johnson’s resignation though a singular moment or more significantly on these dramatic current chain of events
Johnson is view by the political establishment as lord Voldemort, Darth Vader dark lord of the sith, Hannibal Lecter, even Norman Bates, all rolled into one.
I don’t think there is any Prime Minster in my short political memory that has not been so rudely personally insulted than Boris Johnson
Portrayed at a hate figure, I actually a challenged a friend, who she hated the most Boris Johnson or Vladimir Putin, she was struggling to make up her mind, close to phoning a friend.
The political establishment needs a villain, to blame for Brexit, but the reality surrounding UK withdrawal is grounded historically in a lack of public support for the EU and its ideals to achieve greater unity

The Brexit stupidity is relentless
Byebye Boris
WAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA...

“Boris Johnson stood by and promoted bullies, criminals, incompetents and sexual abusers, and that’s why he’s a good leader” is not the flex that you seem to think it is.
wtfjapan
Let be clear neither Boris Johnson or Theresa May are not responsible for Brexit.
Yet Boris was a major backer of Brexit and was elected PM to steer UK through the fiasco,
Brexit is a failure Boris is a failure, time to go
wtfjapan
withdrawal is grounded historically in a lack of public support for the EU and its ideals to achieve greater unity
yet the EU is doing just fine without the UK, UK not so much
wtfjapan
Johnson is view by the political establishment as **lord Voldemort, Darth Vader dark lord of the sith, Hannibal Lecter, even Norman Bates, all rolled into one.**
pretty accurate, plus the fact that hes extremely unpopular, his approval is at around 28% UK parliament
want him gone, seems like the UK people also

REJOICE! (as Mrs T. once infamously crowed) Johnson announced his intention to resign at last, but as one of his Uxbridge constituents commented with the salty humor the Brits are famous for, "it'll take a few more flushes before it's finally gone". Even then the malodorous atmosphere of Westminster will still linger to poison UK politics as long as the toxic Tories are allowed by an irresponsible (because unchastened) electorate to plunge the country deeper into the cesspool of Brexit.

Boris wants his wedding party at Chequers first.
And then he will want something else and again and again.
Because he is a privileged, spoilt, entitled sociopath.
Everything is about Boris and both the UK, and the EU should acquiesce otherwise Boris will have a tantrum.
What an overgrown child
Randy Johnson
He had such potential but ultimately folded to the leftist globalists. What a waste.
I remember vividly when the western media tried desperately to play him off as a racist, etc, etc.
They were just doing their tired and old propaganda tactics of trying to keep an 'outsider' out of their childish sphere of control.
So one would think that other blatantly corrupt and clearly inept career politicians around the world would resign.
If only we could be so lucky.

Toxic is just the word to describe this toxic narcissist! Just go Bo jo !!!!

Well, if you don’t want to be accused of racism, it’s probably better to avoid using expressions such as ‘watermelon smiles’ and ‘picaninnies’.
Just my take.
Similarly, if you want to avoid being accused of being bigoted towards LGBT people, the expression ‘Tank-topped bum boys’ may not be appropriate.
Again, just my opinion.
I always ask myself if people like Johnson actually aren’t racist or bigoted against LGBT people, who are they appealing to with the quotes I posted?
I’d say very unpleasant people.

Boris Johnson is the Donald Trump of UK , he will not be missed!
Express sister
Boris Johnson is a racist, is a sexist, is a love-rat, is homophobic, is bigoted, and is deeply stupid. It’s good that the UK is finally getting rid of him.

BoZo survived the virus then acted like it wasn't happening during the following year.
About 20 years ago there was 'Tony B. Liar'. And I remember the 80s with 'Maggie' or the 'Dull Witch of Dulwich' as Julian Cope put it. He even wrote in the liner notes of his 1990 album 'Peggy Suicide' about her resignation, or as he put it; 'she made her fair-dee-well' in her own bigass way'.

No truss! No truss! No truss! She has left the G20 to stand in line.

I must say, I’m a bit jealous. I’ve tried on more than one occasion to refer to his cousin sociopath as “Stupid Voldemort” (all the evil - 1/2 the competence. More like 1/8th)
Alas, all I can get away with is “less-intelligent Voldemort.”

Mr Johnson is a bad egg and a scoundrel of the worst order. Not only a fibber, but also a cheater on women and there are stories of him being vile and abusive to them.
