@Burning Bush

Great question as pfizer announced today that its vaccines only last 7 months and antibodies are gone after that. Who got pfizer in March?

Keyword in article being vaccinated!

Feels like a debacle at this time

Who would want to go to the UK now. Food, petrol shortages, terrible weather. No thanks.

@Burning Bush - Once again being difficult for the sake of it! Love the use of your word definition. Hey - makes life easy if you need to go there. That's all that matters to me.

“new regime” is exactly what we now all live under irrelevant of location.

Sounds great for people that sell food or petrol...

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Non-reciprocal nations should be banned such as Japan. My personal feelings!

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Seems entry should be based on infection risk, not vaccination programs. Travelers from India would pose little risk.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

yes, when does "being vaccinated" include the 3rd shot for people vaccinated earlier this year?

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Oh - so boring @Blacklabel! Rules will change when the UK change them. Right now I can travel there without pre-testing ot Quarantine. You can't.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Fully vaccinated means double jabbed. The UK will not accept those vaccinated with the Chinese or Russian vacs as their efficacy is pretty low.

I’m in the UK. There are not food and petrol shortages, just a lack of drivers to move these things around. As for the weather, it is autumnal but we won’t get any typhoons.

So be it @Burning Bush - At least I'll be riding somewhere :)

yeah until the UK equivalent of Fauci says "vaccinated" now means your shot was within the last 5 months. because "now" the vaccine only works that long, you see. or hen you need the 3rd or 4th booster to be called "vaccinated", etc.

I have never seen "science" change so much. its almost like it changes upon the political winds and whims of a select few overlords.

Double-vaccinated Brits will be able to visit the US,

yep just until Fauci says they need to be triple vaccinated or that the first 2 shots have worn off. better hurry up if you are going.

Im not going anywhere that I cant go by my own car for right now.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

'Brits' have never been barred from the USA actually. If you hadn't been in the EU/UK for 15 days prior to US entry then there has been no problem. PCR 72 hours prior. Travelling from Japan to the US on a UK passport, no problem. ESTA application website wasn't actually closed for very long at all.

Zichi is totally correct, if you people actually want to travel then they will comply. For sure. We can assume that others commenting on here are probably not in Japan or come for a country somewhere North West of here or are closely aligned with it. If the rules change to having had 3 shots then won't be an issue as I will/will have complied.

I totally understand the want and need to see family with real hugs, kisses, passing perfume smells etc. with family, but you got zoom etc. Eventually they will have smell machines attached and touch machines as well.

If you find strength within yourself instead of being unhappy because you cannot hug and in Japan, give a trial at traveling in Japan. Beauty place, wonderful people and food.

Live each day. Wake up and smell the roses!

And what is the invalid Cscr crappola?

Is it not time now to redefine “vaccinated”?

A study published on Monday in The Lancet medical journal found that the efficacy of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine fell below 50 percent after about six months after the second dose.

The Pfizer-funded study found that Pfizer's vaccine was 88 percent effective in the first month after full vaccination but dropped to 47 percent effectiveness at about six months.

Maybe it is @Blacklabel - who knows what will be decided over the coming months? All I know is that I have certain freedoms afforded to me right now that you don't. You can protest that you don't care etc, but that is not the point.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

the point is that the vaccine only works at 47 percent after 6 months.

Study by the people who make it. would also explain all these vaccinated people getting hospitalized and infected.

So some of these sanctimonious vaccinated people are already expired and have become a filthy unvaccinate themselves.

If by freedom you mean your ability to travel to the UK, yeah whatever. So many other freedoms that are actually important have been taken from you, right under your nose. Its not a big deal to be able to travel somewhere, never has been and never will be.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Other than the freedom to travel easily - what other freedoms have been taken away from me here in Japan? I'm not yet been asked to prove my vaccination status anywhere. The shops are still open. Restaurants and Bars are open - The Internet still works..what exactly are you referring to? It IS a big deal to travel, if you want to see friends and family and you haven't done so for nearly 2 years. So, yeah - 'whatever' right back at you.
