France needs to be reminded that these migrants are coming through the EU and that the UK is no longer a member of that club, EU's responsibility and nothing to do with the UK.

International maritime law requires mariners to rescue any and all who are in distress at sea. There is no exception for refugees from places the rescuer finds objectionable. Ignoring those in distress at sea could be prosecuted as a crime against humanity. UK is on very thin ice with their argument. Bojo could end up in the dock at The Hague if a boatload of refugees are turned away and subsequently die.

Why are the French allowing people without visas for the UK to depart to the UK?

Why does that matter anymore? The Dublin agreement allowing the UK to send migrants back to the first EU country they entered longer applies after Brexit.

Why are the French allowing people without visas for the UK to depart to the UK?

It's not illegal to go for a boat ride in the channel, or to leave French territory sea. Whether or not they have a valid visa to enter Britain is not a French concern.

Hogwash!

Everybody on this forum knows that it is illegal to enter a country without having permission.

The people smugglers are breaking the law by enabling people to do this.

But they aren't entering France. They're leaving France. There is no law in France making it illegal to enter Britain without a valid visa.

That's a slightly different issue. Even if the people selling the boats are guilty of people smuggling in France, it doesn't mean the people being smuggled can be arrested or prevented from attempting the crossing on their own accord.

The matter will come to a head when the Brits in violation of SOLAS knowingly let a boatload of refugees sink and a bunch of people die. Then Bojo and some of his ministers will be liable for crimes against humanity.
