The UK is getting extremely lax in their attempts to control this. They have basically given up mking any serious efforts.

How did you get this from the article above? To pull a phrase out:

Giving the rest a booster in the next three weeks will be a huge challenge, requiring almost 1 million doses delivered a day.

I don't see how this could be seen as either giving up or not a serious effort.

it's important to note that NO, ZERO, NADA deaths have been reported from omicron. And very few hospitalizations. all this fear mongering for a cold. give me a break. if the symptoms are so mild then the world should want to catch omicron instead of delta.

WEll, if Johnson thinks it is very bad and the UK faces a massive outbreak, isn't that his criteria for holding secret Christmas parties?

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Cabinet staff travelling across the country when travelling wasn't allowed. The Health Secretary having an affair during a time when he told families that they shouldn't hug or kiss their loved ones. Families being separated during Christmas (for many, being their last Christmas) as Christmas parties were being held at No. 10 Downing Street...

Good luck with getting the British public to listen to whatever you have to say, Boris.........

Lucky Omicron looks to be a natural vaccine which creates only mild illness!

While the scientific community is still gathering data on this new variant, the vaccine-sceptic community has already made its mind that it's just a mild illness.

Sadly the pharma shills don't want to hear about reality! The just want to push more product while the can!

Seems like many people who refuse the vaccine expect governments and medical institutions to have all the covid answers already to hand. The problem with a pandemic is that it becomes a pandemic because no one really knows enough about it and how to stop it yet, so the institutions have to try and find the answers as they go.

They are working hard trying to stop it, while many people just sit at their computers moaning and refusing the assistance that has been offered, therefore prolonging the pandemic. Do something useful for a change.

Its been at least 3 weeks now since Omicron was discovered and scientists are STILL gathering data? Thats funny because they had data on Delta within a week or so, and they haven't done a thing about the Lambda variant in Peru. Something is fishy about the reaction to Omicron. Its almost as if they want to keep us all living jabbed and in a state of fear.

The goalposts have officially been moved ladies and gentlemen.

Actually, it is factual. These vaccines give a sharp but short-lived rise of antibodies against the spike protein, but this negatively affects other parts of the immune system. Also, unlike the natural infection, vaccines produce very little (if any) IgA antibodies, which are the ones that act along the mucosa (port of entry).

I see. So the 80% of people who are vaccinated in the UK or Japan, for example, all have weakened immune systems.

That must have created a health crisis with a huge increase in a variety of illnesses. But it didn’t, did it?

3 ( +8 / -5 )

The medical and pharma and political industry are all milking it for their own short term goals.

We all know the "right" things to do .. start getting healthier, dont do anything that harms the environment, and stop expecting governments to know everything.

feel sorry for people who get vulnerable while destroyed their immunity system with so called "vaccines" and now these are at higher risk to be affected as body immunity is very different than before...simple fact

Simple, but not factual.

Could you recommend a few experts?

It looks like the UK will be back in lockdown by the winter flu season.

They're on wheels now, as an OH&S measure. The post-movers have been getting RSI from all Boris's announcements.

That’s by far not about being an expert. It’s only about being capable of some simple math and understanding. When that pandemic started two years ago, I made for me a very easy to handle transition matrix and then just multiplied it a few times, something you would call a new infection wave following former waves and so on. So it was quite clear right from the beginning and availability of first published data how and into what that would develop, especially when the matrices’ elements changed by new variants and newer statistical data. No need to be any expert, only need of having the expertise. You don’t even need to know how to correctly multiply such a 5x5 or whatever else sized matrix, that is done by a good calculator in a few seconds. I am not willing and going on that war between all those big factions of deniers and ultra fear mongers, or taking side for vaccers or anti-vaccers. They are all right and wrong at the same time , as the truth is of course located in between. It’s simply wrong to underestimate or deny the existence of the corona viruses, but it’s also wrong to say with a certain set of political measures it’s over and the final solution. I am just fine and more than efficiently informed by my few resulting numbers on the calculator’s display. And they tell me that you’re not fine again anytime soon, if ever.

So the intial VAxs were meant to stop Covid...then they were meant to create a mild case of the virus...now they don't work and you need boosted ad infinitum....

If vaccination was done as necessary variants would have a much harder time appearing and being transmitted. From the very beginning they were predicted to lower the efficacy of the vaccines, pretending this was somehow unexpected is just disinformation.

if the symptoms are so mild then the world should want to catch omicron instead of delta.

Milder symptoms can be offset by higher infections, delta was never demonstrated to cause more serious disease but still produced much more cases, hospitalizations and deaths for this motive, Omicron is more infective than delta.

Having access to the internet made me such an "expert".

Having access to the internet let you know the opinion of experts, even if you may not be able to accept it.

For what other disease do we need a vaccine three or four times a year? No one has died from omicron, this is getting ridiculous.

In public health it is always better to act before a crisis, because hoping for the best have a price in lives.

Everyone should seek out the opinion of trustworthy unbiased experts.

The problem is that you keep recommending the opposite, people without data but strong biases, which is why they end up being shunned in the professional circles.

Actually, it is factual. These vaccines give a sharp but short-lived rise of antibodies against the spike protein, but this negatively affects other parts of the immune system.

Imaginary explanations not based on any data do not make something factual but the opposite. IgA has not been found of any importance, neither the immunity from vaccines has any negative impact when compared with the produced by the natural infection.

Pathetic, hysteric fearmongering

The UK is the ashes of civilisation

-2 ( +13 / -15 )

Wonder why they have such a sudden sense of vaccine urgency for a variant that hasn't even resulted in a death? Indications are that while some "hospitalizations" have occurred, few have been serious.

Does the UK's Omicron plan include the many, highly effective treatments that have been used around the world? Or are they pinning their hopes on vaccines that have not contained Delta for the past six months?

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Seems like many people who refuse the vaccine expect governments and medical institutions to have all the covid answers already to hand.

No, in most cases they just want the authorities to get out of the way and let doctors treat their patients as they see fit, based on their knowledge and experience. In the US, a number doctors and patients had to go to court to receive certain safe and effective early treatments.

Lucky Omicron looks to be a natural vaccine which creates only mild illness!

another proof that so called "vaccination" wont help as virus will mutate as same as other viruses do...but yes so far that new variant of virus is more weak than original one so even more people may be affected-less may end in critical condition or die.just check data from other countries.

Wonder why they have such a sudden sense of vaccine urgency for a variant that hasn't even resulted in a death? Indications are that while some "hospitalizations" have occurred, few have been serious.

Identifying a patient death as related to omicron and a patient death because of omicron are not the same thing. Preparing for a possible crisis before it is fully confirmed always brings better results than waiting until it is too late to do something. You may feel fine with gambling with the lives and health of people but health care professionals have a higher degree of responsibility.

And no, the treatments you keep pushing (ivermecting and HCQ) are not effective at all, much less highly. There is no need to subject patients to the risks of using them if they are not going to provide a benefit to compensate.

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

No, in most cases they just want the authorities to get out of the way and let doctors treat their patients as they see fit, based on their knowledge and experience.

That is not productive, professionals like those in health services are required to understand that "their knowledge and experience" is a terribly bad replacement for actual scientific knowledge because it is much more susceptible of bias and mistakes. Authorities have the responsibility to not let people with such deficient preparation to put in risk the lives and health of patients because of that lack of capacity.

In the US, a number doctors and patients had to go to court to receive certain safe and effective early treatments.

Except they (ivermectin and HCQ) are neither safe nor effective, trying to legislate things that completely depend on scientific results is completely invalid, even if legal. And it is the last resource of people that find themselves believing things that can be proven false.

While the scientific community is still gathering data on these vaccines, the vaccine community has already made its mind that they are safe and effective

The scientific community is the one that already proved vaccines are safe and effective based on data collected from millions of people all over the world, which is why you have never been able to find even one single scientific or medical institutiion that supports your mistaken conclusion, even when repeatedly asked to bring at least one.

It is obvious that your opinions are based on something other than science…

Since everything is clearly based on the opinion of scientific experts that is of course completely false, this applies much more to people that routinely contradict the scientific consensus based on nothing but personal opinions.

So, the first jab didn't work, the second one had little effect on the spread and the third is for what? Big Pharma is awfully happy though.
