Even the government now says the death rate is 23% lower so maybe he means more people will die 'on paper':

That is not a valid conclusion from the information in the article, COVID can be the main or a contributing cause of the death, there is not enough details to be sure but part of that 23% can still be caused by COVID that accelerated the main cause of death.

Its like malnutrition and digestive tract infections in kids of developing countries, children can have as cause of death "dysentery", but the reason why the infection cost their lives is because the many problems originated by the lack of proper nutrition.

I too believe many of the Covid19 deaths would have been prevented with good nutrition, including maintaining optimal levels of vitamin D...

Nutrition is already a well described factor of bad prognosis of COVID, that still means that people that could have lived for decades with deficient nutrition die after infection of COVID. At least on this specific case it is much more difficult to mistakenly attribute to malnutrition the main cause of death.

Vitamin D deficiency is part of the dietary insuficiencies considered important, but once the levels are considered normal no further improvement have been demonstrated for COVID patients, the immune system do not work "better" the higher the levels of vitamin D are.

One does miss Old Compton Street.

Your comment would be like me saying once one is completely immune to SARSCoV2, no further improvement have been demonstrated by vaccination, the immune system do not work "better" with increasing vaccinations.

Well that is what "completely" means the obvious problem is that it has not been demonstrated that mild or asymptomatic infection makes people "completely" immune to COVID as the vaccination does. Vaccination definitely can improve immunity after one or two shots, meaning that by definition the person was not "completely" immune.

No masks outdoors as the risk of catching the virus outside is low. You cannot sit indoors in a pub or restaurant. I sat outside a cafe yesterday, watching the world go by, it was lovely.

What Monty said.

You go for a drink to enjoy yourself. What's enjoyable about being in the middle of a crowd of random people, who knows how many of them breathing out virus-laden droplets, in the middle of a pandemic?

That's a sweet-looking little dog.

The UK government has never advised people to wear a mask in public. Only in shops and on public transport etc.

That may explain the high death count, although the figures appear to have been artificially increased in the UK by considering anyone who has died within 28 days of a positive test as having died of Covid. No professional statistician would consider that to be a reliable metric.

The photo speaks a thousand words. Expect a rapid rise in cases from people too stupid to wear a mask in a pandemic unless they are ordered to.

The blocking of vaccines by governments, due to numerically tiny numbers of side-effects, suggests that regimes are becoming comfortable with the pandemic. They have realised that they now have a joystick to control their citizens, manipulate society and close their borders, without directly taking the blame. They are unlikely to want it to end, and are finding medically unwise reasons to keep the pot simmering. If we do not throw every vaccine we have at this, as fast as possible, a serious variant may develop that will drive us back to the Stone Age.

Look at all these idiots!

No masks, no social distance!

Thinking because 15% of all adults got the 2nd Dose makes them all immune against the Virus in a country that was hit one of the hardest in the world.

I thought that even you are vaccined you can get the virus and can spread it.

I mean if 15% with a second dose is enough to go back to a life like in the picture, than I think at the end of this year the whole world will be back to normal.

Yes, once the levels are considered "normal", but many people do not have sufficient vitamin D levels, especially in winter. In the UK, the NHS was giving free vitamin D to the more vulnerable, and they recommended all dark-skinned people supplement year round. The number of people who would benefit from supplementation is surprisingly high world wide. I am sure many on this forum would benefit from it too.

Yes, you bring up a great point, thank you!
