This is getting out of hand. Now the UK Government will announce new legislation that will break up the Families of British Nationals with Foreign spouses unless they collectively earn 40K GBP per year.

This may not seem so bad, if you are young, though what if you are nearing retirement, and your personal lack of employment situation here in Japan warrants returning back to the UK ? Its highly unlikely that you'll get a job paying over 40K unless in London, so regardless how long you've been married for, your Partner will have to live somewhere else - not great if they're truly dependent upon you.

it is somewhat Ironic, that the Immigrants of past are now calling the shots over immigrants of actual Native British peoples - you married a Japanese Wife of 15 years... and you wish to come back to the UK - sorry NO!

But Indian IT workers are ok to come in...
