The newspaper said tests using drug detection wipes found traces of cocaine in 11 locations that are only accessible by accredited parliamentary lawmakers, staff and journalists, including a washroom near Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s parliamentary office.
Cocaine traces was found at 11 of 12 bathrooms tested.
So, the UK has coked up politicians making what should be important decisions.
Cocaine and other drug use are rampant in the UK, which is why there is such a high number of young people not working--they either rely on handouts, or find selling drugs to be more profitable than being a member of the working society.
And as a result, crime rates are very high in many areas, especially City of London.

Boris, keep that stuff at home.

With the way the covid is being handled and all the sleaze going on , you might have guessed the pollys were on something, seems like a pizza delivery of the white line kind was the choice

1....almost all western nations have politicians coked up and making important decisions...how naive are you?
2...Cocaine use and abuse is not a reason for high unemployment and young people in the UK do not rely on handouts to live.....are you American per chance?
3...Cocaine use and abuse is not the same as use and abuse of other class A drugs such at heroin. Users of cocaine can usually continue to be a functioning part of society, in that they hold down their job and pay taxes. They do not steal to feed their habit. They may well sell drugs to help fund their habit.
4....the city of London was built on cocaine use....were you awake during the 80's?!
Cocaine use is neither smart nor cool, it's certainly detrimental to health and how well you can be productive but lets not get all Reagan-esque

‘Bojo busted over bog blow binge’
That’s a headline I’d like to see.

Try to stay on point rainman. This article is not about America.

Not naive enough to believe you. Let's see some proof, similar to cocaine traces found in 11 of 12 bathrooms in Parliament.

Classy British ...in Australia we have a Deputy Prime Minister who regularly turns up drunk. I think i would prefer him to be on the marching powder, at least he may be able to speak coherently.

Does this mean that they will take away the driving licenses and passports from the politicians involved?

Acknowledged @zich 8:44am. Thanks for showing a balanced view of the drug problem on both sides of the Atlantic. Q: Who’s supplying the Brits and who’s supplying the Americans with each of their respective habits ?

Yeah, Reckless 2:03pm:“Boris?” - Thought it was Ralphie’s younger brother Randy from “A Christmas Story” (1983): “I can’t put my arms down!” - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKxsOlzuH0k - Police: “You’ll put your arms down when we get inside.”

These allegations are nothing to snort at. I thought they said it didn't snow in London?

the CITY of London is a extremely small and has a population of around 8000 people.
London and greater London has a population of nearly 9 million and yes I agree some areas are getting worse especially with the knife crime epidemic.

Politicians are on drugs? Why does this not feel like news?

It makes them think they are working harder.

That’s already ‘normal’ everywhere , especially in upper circles but not limited to them. They found it also in German parliament building in Berlin with a very similar test and of course traces on almost all European money banknotes in circulation as well as in all bigger cities’ sewerage system. You can nowadays even use that drug finding data to estimate what day of week it is or if shortly before a new big illegal delivery from the global drug cartels has arrived recently. Visiting your government or licking your purse’s money just in fact in all European countries saves you contacting with your dealer and possible prosecution. lol
Madverts
Typical elitists. Tooting the highest quality bugle off strippers and rent boys bums while the serfs in the UK risk new and intrusive legislation for casual drug users.

Bathrooms? There are no bathrooms in the Commons. Traces of drugs were found in the lavatories, toilets, bogs, khazis, washrooms, cloakrooms, WCs etc. But not bathrooms.
A quick search online will find videos of MPs, included Cabinet ministers, behaving in ways which some may interpret as being due to using or being under the influence of various mood changing substances.
RegBilk
In Britain, cocaine is a Class A drug. Possession of the substance could find the person facing 7 years in prison.
Which is a little bit longer than Boris Johnson has been an MP, and starting from today, would probably be the time when the UK gets control of its sausage problem.

Drug test all members and their staff. I had to be drug tested just to hold a management job at FedEx since it involved transportation. A great many civil service positions require routine periodic drug testing but but MPs and other high public officials, often with security clearances and trusted with the nation's secrets, do not have to be drug tested. No surprise then we find evidence of drug abuse in Parliament. It would be interesting to similarly test the private areas of the US Congress for drug residues.
Strangerland
Let the War on Drugs continue. After all, it's been an astounding success has it not? I mean it's not like they're doing drugs in parliament or anything.
...oh, wait.
