My prescription:

On ventilator 24/7.

I think this may be a bit more serious than this article would like us to believe. You wouldn't send him to hospital even if his symptoms didn't go away, unless they were becoming more severe. Boris could be in trouble!

He's been a great leader throughout. Get well soon, Boris!

This Virus knows NO Borders, NO Languages, NO Religions, and surly NO Limits.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

This doesn't sound good, was his own fault for refusing to not stop shaking hands.

5 ( +13 / -8 )

gogogo - refusing to not stop?

Either way, as much as I don’t like him, I hope he pulls through. Sad to see anyone in this situation.

History of smoking and a bit portly. This probably should have been step one.

'herd' the Tory into hospital...

heart bleeds...

-2 ( +8 / -10 )

Hope he recovers soon.

No business...he has been a great leader throughout?

where do you get your news?!!

he was useless and still is.

5 ( +15 / -10 )

A pregnant finance that had symptoms and doesn't want to be tested ? He may be a great leader but this doesn't sound like the most responsible couple. Hope the baby to be is OK.

I'll second that

Hear it for yourself from Mr Boris “You’ll be happy to know, I shook hands with everyone” Johnson. Not a responsible leader. Not a responsible grown m-up.

https://youtu.be/n3NAx3tsy-k

wishing him a speedy recovery regardless.

First of all, I hope Johnson's OK and I wish him a speedy recovery, but the man was a fool for not taking this coronavirus more seriously from the start. To think just a few weeks ago he was saying, "I shook hands with everybody!"

Yes you want change politically then vote on it. But personally please get well soon and wish you the best Boris.

Boris is a poster-"boy who cried wolf", an inveterate liar whose word is of little honor. After his notorious hiding from a journalist in a fridge, I was naturally skeptical of his claim to have corona which came just at a time when his "leadership" was required. If he really got it, I wish him a speedy recovery to face the music arranged and mangled by his incompetent cohorts.

The idiot was going around boasting about shaking people's hands, only the other week.

I feel for the UK, saddled with such an arrogant man at the helm.

That said, get well soon so that you can be held accountable for Tory recklessness.

Absolute tosh. He's been floundering about since day one. And his career up to now has been one built on lies, privilege, bigotry, dodgy connections, questionable business ethics and misogyny.

I can see why the latter might be seen as a positive for some, though.

"I don't know whether to laugh or laugh." - Alfie Noakes upon hearing about Boris being infected

Hope he gets better. You don't have to agree or even like somebody to at least be civil.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Hope Boris and everyone else infected with this nasty virus recover.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Not all bad news then.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

I, too, think Johnson is much more ill than they are letting on. I hope he recovers soon.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

To think just a few weeks ago he was saying, "I shook hands with everybody!"

It’s part of his appeal to a certain section of the electorate who like that kind of thing - look at Boris, he’s not getting in a fluster over this flu. Bloody nanny state telling us what we can and can’t do. We didn’t win the war by listening to health and safety experts and getting in a fluster, you know.

Listen to the experts and not people putting on a show for the cameras.

I can’t stand his politics, lies and what has turned out to be very dangerous showboating but I hope he recovers soon.

I feel sorry for the amazing NHS staff who have to treat the reckless toff who probably pushed in and got a bed ahead of others like Big Ears did.

he should be temporary removed from his position. Even queen said it is as worse as WW2. How can he lead in a time of crisis when his main priority is to sneak into the hospital bog for a fag?

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Get well soon, Mr. Prime Minister.

Never ever do the Gentlemen Handshake, even if the virus goes away.

For the all around casual greetings, either Bow or Namaste!

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I wish Boris Johnson and expectant partner Carrie Symonds a speedy recovery.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Wow, coronavirus has no respect even for a Prime Minister...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I hope this is the last time Boris Johnson gets sick.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

The amount of ill will and and mean spirit on this thread is amazing.

I find several of the regular commentators on this forum totally misguided, brainwashed and uninformed, but I would NOT wish death from an infectious disease on any of them.

First pandemic that incapacitates a head of state?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Viktor, that's something many of us share with the virus.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Publicity stunt gone wrong?

When every time your mouth is moving lies come out as with boris, people mistrust everything and anything you do. Only stable genius trump bungled the virus response more than number 10...

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery to the Honorable Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his fiancé. Only childish parts wish ill will on a person afflicted with such an illness. Shame on you!

Seth M:

Sounds like it. Prince Charles caught it, Trudea and Biden are hiding in their Corona bunkers, Trump just stares it down (iinteresting situation, I can imagine the Trump haters having dreams about orange guy catching it...)

I would like to know the press to ask about his treatment. Is he getting Hydroxychloroquinine (the much ridiculed Trump pills)? Hope someone starts asking.

We didn’t win the war by listening to health and safety experts and getting in a fluster, you know.

I’m not sure what ‘war’ you’re referring to, but if it’s WWII, you might recall Britain got ‘nanny stated’ with all that wartime, Lend-Lease welfare from Uncle Sam. Contrary to what you might think, John Bull didn’t bootstrap himself over the Rhine.

As for Boris, I hope he recovers for the sake of his family and starts taking things more seriously.

Boris Johnson’s young attractive fiancé contracted covid-19. Should be no surprise he ended up with it as well.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Boris is a boorish Bozo but I hope he recovers and comes to his senses.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Now in intensive care. OMG.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Boris Johnson condition is quite evidently more serious that has previously been reported. I am a little taken aback, even though the stock media images portray a clearly frail and poorly UK premier.
