It appears that Parliament needs to be changed for the same reason that a baby's diaper needs to be changed.

But after three years of inconclusive political wrangling over Brexit, British voters are weary and the results of an election are hard to predict.

The House of Commons voted 438-20 — with dozens of lawmakers abstaining — for a bill authorizing an election on Dec. 12. It will become law once it is approved Wednesday by the unelected House of Lords, which does not have the power to overrule the elected Commons.

Parliament is still deadlocked. The people, more specifically, the voters, need to decide who they want representing THEM in Parliament. That gives the political parties six weeks to dirty the waters, sling mud, trash talk their opponents, lie, cheat, steal, an even tell the truth during the run up to the next election.

Both the Tories and Labour are simply playing party politics.

I hope there is a truly seismic shift and the Lib Dems sweep the board.

The EU has no obligation to negotiate - it is the UK that is leaving a large club with well established rules

I like the idea of a choice between left and right although Corbyn is incompetent. I don’t want to see Labour reverting to Blairite compromises after he leaves. It’s a choice thing.

If this election was being fought on issues other than Brexit, Corbyn would be polling higher.

What are you talking about? They've done nothing else. For most of it they've been waiting for British politicians to tell them what they wanted.

Another hung Parliament, a really stupid time of year to have an election; some parts of the UK will have terrible weather at this time, students will be ending term and may miss out on voting, people will be preparing for Christmas. This GE will not resolve the Brexit problem.

I expect a hung parliament. Conservatives to get wiped out in Scotland and lose a few in the South East, but luck up a few marginals from Labour in areas with a disaffected working class. Liberal Democrats a d SNP to do well, getting 90 between them.

Labour to do worse than last time, Corbyn to resign, but he won't go willingly.

I expect and hope that the Conservatives win by a landslide. Labour is going to get decimated as voters take revenge on them for aal their games they have been playing.

When Labour loses an election that by all rights they should win by a landslide, maybe they'll figure out that they need to give the heave-ho to Corbyn, the unreconstructed Marxist they've chosen to be their leader.
