He's treated better than Navalny

See how Russia treats opposition leaders

This will only make the Russian speakers who voted for him angrier and more likely to turn to Russia.

Most of the pro-Russian Ukrainians are already in the Russia-occupied Donbas region and Crimea

By taking those regions out of Ukraine, Russia effectively reduced greatly the # of pro-Russian voters in Ukraine - and thus greatly reduced its own leverage within Ukraine elections

It's akin to scoring an own-goal, lol

Is this how a democracy works?

Oh, so a Putin supporter is suddenly a fan of democracy? How does democracy work under your idol?

He won his seat in parliament under internationally observed elections.

Guess who didn't fulfil your strict democratic criteria? Yep, your boy Vlad.

This will only make the Russian speakers who voted for him angrier and more likely to turn to Russia.

Nobody cares. Let them sign up to that failed, impoverished kleptocracy. See how they do under Putin's crushing boot. He'll keep killing them for decades.

The West must man up and call the cowardly Putin's bluff. Medvedchuk can be swapped for all the Ukrainians abducted to Russia. Then Putin's "bridge too far" from Donbas to Crimea must be detonated with sophisticated Allied weapons and Mariupol cleared of enemy forces by any means necessary. Biden's gloves must now come off in view of Russian chemical weapons and cluster bombs.

The only language Russia understands is violence.

So let's do it like this, then. FOUR hurts to every ONE of theirs.

Lincolnman - I would hate to have to be the one who tells him about the Moskva...

One wonders how much defeat and humiliation Putin can take...before he unleashes his chem/bio and tactical nukes to turn this invasion into WW III....

Bronco - democratically elected lawmakers can still commit treason, can they not? I'm not sure how the statute is written in Ukraine, but in mine, it's defined as giving aid or comfort to the enemy. If it is found that he gave aid or comfort to Russia, then he might have a problem on his hands.

Is this how a democracy works?

In Russia and Belarus, democracy doesn't work. There is so much proof of election tampering with videos of poll workers caught literally stuffing ballots.

https://www.rferl.org/a/russia-election-fraud/31466758.html has 6 specific examples.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwi-Ao-3n20 are more examples.

Ever wonder how Russia and Belarus elections always seem to win by 80% of the voters? It is always 80% .... which is crazy for any election.

We can only hope history repeats itself and he "has an accident" like other Russian leaders who have miscalculated and failed...

Is this how a democracy works?

They didn’t bomb his house, rape his family and eat his pets before detaining him. So it’s better than Russian ‘democracy’.

Looking into the old crystal ball, I can see this spinning like a top from Moscow as we speak: that this guy really isn't Viktor at all! Impersonator!

President Putin, just imagine how you'd feel if a neighboring country decided to invade and kill tens of thousands of your citizens?

1 man is nothing, based on the destruction and death left by the Russian military in Ukraine.

Why isn't Putin visiting his troops? Because he is afraid and weak.
