The West’s biggest current enemy (Putin’s Russia) is on the ropes as a result of Ukraine's manpower and a small percentage of the West's military budget. For the West this is a bargain that will not be squandered by giving in to Putin’s farcical talks of peace. Putin can and will be driven out of Ukraine and only then will the world be able to entertain the mechanics of an ongoing future peace. Any other scenario would only delay another inevitable conflict with a stronger Russia. War is brutal and unfair but Putin has unwittingly served up to the West an incredible opportunity to defang him at relatively minimal cost. His nukes are in play under any scenario and cannot be used as an excuse to allow his war crimes to continue.

Good man Zelenskyy. Keep going on about Russia’s information program. It clearly upsets them.

Kiev is almost in the stone age, after billion of dollars in military aid

I have heard that UA forces have won over russian troops and liberated all UA territory, crushed russians.

correct?

or at least it was planned.

no words about UA offensive to Kherson and other parts?

or did UA run out of ammo as russian did/as NK missiles never came?

/all irony off/

just wondering how this one sided brainwashing propaganda will continue as winter is around corner and maybe very cold for UA.

i feel sorry about ordinary UA citizens must be overpatient thanks to their gov and pay dearly for warmongering in name of US and west interests.as their territory s used as battlefield in proxy war west vs Russia.

lets hope somehow Kiev regime will understand that there is one and only solution-peace negotiation with Russia,no other way to solve this problem.earlier this will happen-better for UA citizens and better for everyone.

heroiam slava u kravina slama?

The long term cost of pulling support for Ukraine would be incredibly high - hope that doesn't happen.

Way to blame the victim. How terrible the Ukrainian government must be for trying to push out an invading foreign country that shows no remorse for killing its citizens.

How do you negotiate with a foreign invader who’s bombing your cities, killing your children, raping your women, etc., etc. ?! Negotiations are important, but it’s difficult to imagine from the Ukrainian’s perspective.

You are alone, talk to Russia before it's too late..

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

I rarely agree with Bronco but on this one, hmmmm. Yes 'ridiculous'.

Before the invation. US to Ukraine "don't negotiate"...

After the invasion, and all the damage is done to Ukraine and the world. US to Ukraine "please negotiate"

....wait for it...embarassment x 100...

US to Ukraine "Please deny we pressured you negotiate"...

You couldn't make this stuff up, it's just pure comedy from Blinken and Sullivan.

I don't know perhaps we should ask Iraq's 800,000 dead.

At an event at the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas on Wednesday, the former president called out “the decision of one man to launch a wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq.” He quickly corrected himself, saying, “I mean Ukraine,” but he proceeded to chuckle and mutter “Iraq, too” under his breath to laughter from the audience. It’s true that had his gaffe not reflected reality, it would have almost been comedic. But as a child of Iraqi migrants, the distasteful sniggering by the man who launched a war resulting in at least 800,000 estimated Iraqi deaths and the displacement of millions more is nothing short of despicable.

Not some Russian propaganda site.

Funny how this gets so little attention now.

Kettle meet stove.

Interesting to note that Ukraine has received over $80 billion since the war began, but Russia still holds 20% of the country.

Note that Russia's entire military budget for the year is under $70 billion.

Have to wonder with all the arms ammunition, technical support and unlimited funding, how come Ukraine is struggling so much to advance a few kilometers?

Interesting to note that Ukraine has received over $80 billion since the war began, but Russia still holds 20% of the country.

First, that 80 Billion figure is not the amount of military assistance Ukraine has received, it is the figure for all forms of aid, most of which is humanitarian aid for refugees or financial assistance.

Second, a lot of that 20% figure is territory (Crimea and Donbass) that Russia held before February 24. The Ukrainians have now pushed the Russians out of roughly half of the territory they took post-February 24.

Note that Russia's entire military budget for the year is under $70 billion.

Note that this 70 Billion figure is the Russian military budget in 2021 before it invaded Ukraine. The actual amount of Russian military spending now that it is fighting a full scale war that has required mass mobilization is undoubtedly far far higher than that, as will the cost of rebuliding its army in the coming years.

Have to wonder with all the arms ammunition, technical support and unlimited funding, how come Ukraine is struggling so much to advance a few kilometers?

Well, you spent most of the spring and summer telling us Russia was going to obliterate the Ukrainians and it was only a matter of time before they over-ran the country. Now that the Russians are in retreat you are asking us why the Ukrainians aren't advancing fast enough against them?

2 ( +5 / -3 )

The US has given Ukraine about $24 billion. The defense budget is $800 billion.

I think the Ukrainians dying for the West's geopolitical aims disagree with the "minimal cost" part

the ego of this authoritarian leader and his inner circle that contains neo-Nazis and ultranationalists don’t really care about their citizens.they are getting billions and billions in salaries from the west.

any news from Bakhmut?

it sees that UA forces have scored new "victory" there again?

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

any news from Bakhmut?

Lets see:

July: Russian forces attack Bakhmut, are defeated.

August: Russian forces attack Bakhmut, are defeated.

September: Russian forces attack Bakhmut, are defeated.

October: Russian forces attack Bakhmut, are defeated.

November: Russian forces attack Bakhmut, are defeated.

So that would be a "no", nothing new, just more of the same.

Russia is hemorrhaging, Even with the MAGA support I don't see Putin being around much longer. Ukraine best to hold off and negotiate with the next thug to take over.

“The U.S. has given Ukraine about $24 billion. The defense budget is $800 billion.”

As one retired U.S. Army general recently said, the money spent on assisting Ukraine has been money well spent and has been a good investment.

Russia is hemorrhaging

> I don't see Putin being around much longer.

Wait let's see is the above comment from March, April, June, July August, no September, along with

"Russia is running out of weapons/missiles,etc..."

Whether it is Russia propaganda or Ukrainian propaganda.

Repeating it more will not make it fact.

Russia will not be able to take and hold all of Ukraine and Ukraine will never be able to dislodge Russia from the entire southern territory and Crimea.

So both these fools need to start talking.

In a reality check, the mayor of Kyiv said that it was a near 100% fact that Kyiv will not have power, water, or heat this winter.

In response Zelensky 's office replied that the government has set up "1000 heating points" now a population of over 2.8 million means these heating points better be able to accommodate a few thousand each for at least 3 to 4 months.
