The fighter jet went down on Monday

Monday (last week): Zelensky reports that Russia only hit civilian targets and there were no military losses. Only damage was schools, daycares and playgrounds.

Tuesday: Pro-Russian sources begin reporting that an F-16 went down.

Wednesday to Sunday: The Russians are liars, they are all disinformation agents. Stop believing what you see on X and telegram.

Monday (this week): CNN "Exclusive" report... an F16 went down last Monday.

Zelensky lied last week when he said there were no military losses.

Several versions of the crash of the first Ukrainian f-26 have appeared on the Russian part of telegram. I counted at least five versions. According to the Wall Street Journal, a Ukrainian Air Force F-16 fighter jet crashed on Monday, just weeks after they arrived in the country after a long wait.

The plane was not shot down by the Russian military, and, apparently, it was a human error of the pilot.

The next version I like more. The Turks claim that the first Ukrainian F-16 fighter was shot down from an ambush by a Russian Su-57 at the limit of the range of air-to-air missiles.

But Maryana Bezuglaya, a deputy of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada, said that the plane was destroyed by the Patriot system.

If the pilot was in it, it most likely wasn't hit on the ground. Yes, in the entire 24 hour period, I'm sure there were some military casualties.

Also. . Maybe let’s get Ukraine some Gripen fighter jets as well

and tons of mercenary pilots-for-hire

RIP brave defender of Ukrainian sovereignty

I read the comments of Ukrainians on the news about the plane crash. А strange thing, but not a single word of condolence. Just kidding, who is entitled to a reward for the first destroyed plane F-16 - the promised 15 million rubles. It turns out - to the Americans :)

latest news from radio Yerevan

remaining UA F16 are moved to Romania and Poland airfields ASAP...

And all the time Zelensky is asking for weapons to attack Russia.

It is no longer about Ukrainian defense.

The truth of the matter is that there are foreign drone and missile operators using US satellite data to attack Russia.

The death of the inexperienced Ukrainian pilot will only progress foreign intervention.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

And all the time Zelensky is asking for weapons to attack Russia.

It is no longer about Ukrainian defense.

I periodically (not every night) I watch Zelensky's nightly address to the nation. Not only he has a poor command of the Ukrainian language (let me remind you that Zelensky's native language is Russian, which he speaks perfectly), but he usually speaks in a state of intoxication, whether narcotic or alcoholic, I do not know. So, today he was so bad that, I'm afraid, reanimation was necessary. Let's see what happens tomorrow...

The death of this pilot (name, photo etc) was known for a few days because the mayor of Lutsk posted it (his hometown) and it was kind of hard for Kyiv to hide.

He died on the 26th, Monday - the day of RFAF big missile strike all over Ukraine - and hardly a coincidence.

A day and half later Zelensky claims F16s helped repel the attack - without evidence.

Yesterday WSJ reported on the incident and claimed it was a "crash" and we get the human error.

Then it is claimed he shot down a number of missiles.

Then it is claimed by a Rada deputy he got nailed by a Patriot system.

So, what really happened - possibly a number of things:

We also know the UAF posted on social media a few F16 photos, although cropped, a slight background corner of a building allowed Russian intelligence to geolocate it. That airbase, in the west, was Ivano-Frankivsk air base and it got hit repeatedly.

Firstly, one suspect's Zelensky's story is another of his fairytales, like the Ghost of Kyiv.

It definitely 'crashed' and the ejection seat wasn't used, so it could be the actual missile strike on the airbase. Another cause of the 'crash' may be R-37m. May be a collision with one of the cruise missiles. Also likely a Patriot brought him down.

Regardless, the small number of F16s in-country, which can probably be replaced, the bigger loss here is the actual pilot - who is believed to be one of six or in the first small batch - who went through the US/Europe training program (one photo is asserted to be him at Ellis AFB).

What is amazing is again there is zero mention of the Eastern Front, RFAF advances there and the fact AFU positions are buckling one by one.

There is even speculation that Zelensky has silently agreed to Putin's previous terms because places are being abandoned without a fight, consistent with that plan.

Russian forces are in Myrnohrad, part of Pokrovsk proper. Towns are being taken intact without massive shelling and bombing. They are pushing up the railway line too and are here (48.256313, 37.268146), but the map is changing rapidly.

The plan here is becoming clear: seize the Pokrovsk-Selidove-Kurakhove-Vuhledar line and straighten the front.

The first and second are being seized (Selidove is probably all taken as things are moving fast). A big red arrow is approaching Kurakhove, one town away. Vuhledar is almost surrounded, with two new red arrows emerging SW of it. Big wrapping and clearing out of Karlivka reservoir area on the south part of the ever-enlarging bulge.

Speculation the next defensive line will be the Dnieper.

He died on the 26th, Monday - the day of RFAF big missile strike all over Ukraine - and hardly a coincidence.

So Banthu was lying when he was claiming this?

Monday (last week): Zelensky reports that Russia only hit civilian targets and there were no military losses. Only damage was schools, daycares and playgrounds.

Good to know.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

No. Not sure what you are quoting in support of what because that clearly states Zelensky was lying.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Note that I have not claimed Zelenskyy was not lying.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Banthu has made a simple timeline error. He means this week Monday.

There has been so much happening at the front; AFU units getting rolled left, right and center, maps moving, tricolours waving over buildings, huge bombings, Iskander-M strikes going off, Tornado-S peppering away, enough Lancet hit to make several movies and run out of popcorn, several missile and drone deployments - been a busy week with the Monday strikes turbocharging an already fluid zone to monitor.

With all the action, even one gets the timeline mixed up, especially with western-Kyiv disinformation being pumped out 24/7.

Note that I have claimed Zelensky cooked up a story (9:56am)

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Had he not mentioned CNN reporting it the following Monday I might agree with you. But he did. And you’re still trying to cover for him.

One of you is deliberately being less than honest

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Here’s the best current write up with good maps of the Pokrovsk situation from one of the more level-headed and critical-thinking Ukrainians:

https://euromaidanpress.com/2024/08/28/what-the-fall-of-pokrovsk-could-mean-for-ukraine/

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

He is just mixed up, happens to us all, especially with dates in a complex environment - he means how the WSJ was the first western source to report this, and then CNN jumped all over it, most likely. Again, the Kyiv stories change so fast it makes things murky and confuses even the best of us at certain times.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Rubbish

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

What he is also asserting is this is an all too typical sequence of events - meaning how the stories change or 'evolve' with a new version of events from week to week from official sources, especially Kyiv. Kind of like satire.

You are reading too much into it. Don't let the trees block the view of the forest.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Again - rubbish

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Yes, they sold it F16 and that’s it.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Haha Nemui,

The problem is not misinformation, but the problem is that you, personally, do not read information from both sides. You only read what you like. You stirred up a storm in a glass over a trifle. Who prevents you from reading the sources yourself, so that elementary errors in the comments do not mislead you.

But Ilya Novikov's article is again very weak. It's like he's forgotten how to read Russian. And he understans nothing in Ukrainian, just like Zel. From an educated man, he turned into an ordinary freak who looks into the mouth of an eternally drunk Zel....

It's your choice...

1 ( +3 / -2 )

The problem is not misinformation, but the problem is that you, personally, do not read information from both sides.

Misinformation is absolutely the problem whichever side it comes from. If you want to jump to his defense as well that’s fine. You don’t like “elementary errors” called out, especially if it’s from one of your team. This was not an “elementary error” but a deliberate attempt to misinform and I know that precisely because I read more than what you think I do. Stop being so kuku.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Yes, they sold it F16 and that’s it

This is the sixth version of the F-16 incident:)))))))

1 ( +3 / -2 )

The elementary error is not being able to identify satire.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Of course.

again rubbish.

I read the comments of Ukrainians on the news about the plane crash. А strange thing, but not a single word of condolence.

Ukrainians have to deal with Russian savagery on a daily basis. One day is just like the rest until the Russian is put down.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

I do love how two of the most prominent pro Russians on here come rushing to his defense. Makes my heart warm.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

"Juice" gave away the location of the one F-16 base when he posted a photo of his mother sat in the cockpit. They thought they had blurred any sensitive information but crafty Ruskies managed to geo-locate the exact airfield from a corner of a building left in one photo. The airfield was heavily bombed. It is thought that no F-16 were damaged but they are now somewhere else. Well, except for the one shot down obviously.

Game changers...lol

Once you made a remark to me that I had misplaced a text from a telegram. You said it was wrong!

Yes, I did. I call out things that are wrong.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Satire - joking about how Kyiv's version of events changes day-in-day-out.

Also, likely Zelensky did mislead people, which would hardly be the first time.

Clear people are upset about the F16 wonder-weapons and all, but this was always going to happen.

Satire - joking about how Kyiv's version of events changes day-in-day-out.

So now it wasn’t a “mix-up”, it was satire. lol

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

This has been fun, but I have to work now. Bye guys! You’ve proven yourselves… ahem… worthy. Lol

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Noted. People are upset, now resorting to vague internet threats on Russia, as it has become painfully clear Ukraine is going down the gurgler with their F-16s and all. The euphoria of Kursk and the 'invasion of Russia' has given way to a dose of reality.
