Good to see Ukraine striking back at the criminals.

...and what is Zelenski supposed to achieve with that? This war stops by negotiating an acceptable solution, and not by Zelenski bombing Russia.

An acceptable solution is for russia to back down. That can only be achieved when it is sufficiently bloody.

Unfortunately, hopes for the near world are very doubtful. The Trump's team will insist on maximizing benefits for Ukraine, almost without taking into account Russia's interests. Americans have already demanded that the draft age be lowered to 18. And it's not just Biden, Trump is the same. The Russian side will insist on its own interests, which will include all the conquered territories. I am pessimistic about these peaceful prospects this year.

As we all know the United States played a key role in generating and perpetuating this terrible conflict in Ukraine since the Bucharest Nato meeting in 2008:

Even though the majority of Ukrainians want peace negotiations to start, the big US industrial military complex is not done yet in Wall Street, and pressures the Kyiv regime to send its 18 year old kids to the frontlines.

Interesting hindsight on the failed attempts to train soldiers by Nato countries:

This is another non-event - actually aimed at western audiences to convince you Kyiv is still in the fight.

But the really good news is - overnight the Moscow FM has announced it is willing to discuss security guarantees within a broader Eurasian framework in order to address larger geopolitical issues. They announced that includes a land now called Ukraine, and parts of that country which have not yet determined their status, unlike Crimea, Donbass, and Novorossiya (the union of Donbass republics) which have previously ceded from Ukraine.

It'll be interesting what certain quarters have to say in relation to this positive and generous development, which could put in train the framework to bring a halt to Moscow's defensive limited ground operation and satisfy their critical national security objectives. Or whether it goes on and those objectives are achieved regardless.

Russia has offered a peace deal to Ukraine - unconditional surrender. That won't work.

Ukraine wants guarantees from Moscow that they will leave, pay to rebuild what they destroyed and stay away. Those are minimal requirements.

Ukraine really should have worked to join the EU and NATO BEFORE all of this happened. That's on the people of Ukraine and their leaders for not making that happen. Two new NATO members didn't wait and have joined, so thanks Russia, NATO is even stronger now.

Russia is never leaving territory which some consider part of a land formerly known as Ukraine.

Russian advances have also forced the closure and evacuation of staff from a major coal mine around Pokrovsk, its operator said on Tuesday, another signal of the dangerous proximity of Russian forces to the city.

This is interesting and has been mentioned a few times as Russian forces encroach on it, as they envelop Pokrovsk from the west. Now they are just a few clicks from it, they can see it, a motor rifle brigade having cut the main road immediately south (Underground mine with spoil heaps north clearly visible here - 48.261296, 36.993764).

The Russian military accused Kyiv of using U.S.- and British-supplied missiles for one of the strikes and promised it would "not go unanswered".

.

Foreign intelligence and personnel needed to launch advanced missiles into Russia.

There will be revenge for that…

Russia has offered a peace deal to Ukraine

In the Spring of 2022 Russian and Ukrainian delegations were on the verge of negotiating an end to the conflict, assuring Ukraine's military non-alignment and protection of rights of Russian speakers, A text was on the table in Istanbul, almost ready to be signed, revealed David Arakhamia, leader of the Ukrainian political party 'Servant of the People'. However, according to Arakhamia, during his visit to Kiev, Prime Minister Boris Johnson pressured the Ukrainian side 'not to sign anything' and 'just keep on fighting. This is what the leader of People's Political Party of Ukraine David Arakhamia said to the media, not Russian media.

The fairy tale easily disproved with three simple facts:

russia was in shelling distance of Kharkiv at the time.

Animals don't run away unless sufficiently bloodied.

Ukrainians harbor no ill will for Boris Johnson because they are well familiar with the Maskirovka.

It'd be great to get a better map of the daily battlefield advances. The map at bottom of article is small, not well detailed and hard to properly interpret.

True. This conflict will be a forgotten and forgiven, and EU (and other countries) will get back to decent business with the biggest European country - Russia. Kyiv and Zelensky are just the fashion of the moment that will be shunted aside once their relevance has expired. Real economies count, not false lands and economies under questionable sovereignty, that are not even part of investment clubs or alliances. It will seem like a storm in teacup with people wondering what all the drama was about.

Biden proudly declares that he was able to put about 50 countries under arms for war. These are the words of Lavrov at yesterday's press conference. Did he lie? Didn't you listen to Biden's farewell speech?
