Hey, Putin! This was supposed to be a cakewalk with flowers raining down upon you. What the heck happened?! The Ukrainians didn’t want anything to do with you after all.

Stop wasting time, NATO! If Russia has the right to enter Ukraine, a sovereign country, then so do other countries. I thought we had learned the lesson from history the last time a dictator used an uncannily similar playbook to seize the territory of another people. HANDS OFF MARIUPOL!

Bad bad miscalculation on Putins behalf

Russians will wait for the evacuation of (some? most?) civilians before unleashing all manner of artillery and airpower on the defenders left. This is ominous. They can probably justify flattening the city in their minds because only combatants would be left. There will be non-combatants in that city,

Zelenski has bitten the hand that feeds him and he should be put back in his place. Billions has been sent in money, arms and good will. His population is being housed all across Europe and they will be allowed to stay their for years. Yet instead of saying thankyou he is now claiming NATO is not doing enough and has blood on their hands.

I hope people wake up to the fact that Zelenski is also not a nice person and that when this is all over Ukraine finds someone better to take over.

Those people who call for NATO involvement and no-fly-zone should at the very least understand that if that was to happen then thousands if not missions of non-ukranians will die, Other countries in europe with be destroyed and it wont be a cake-walk. It will be all out world-war.

People in Japan might consider that Japan might not want to take sides. It was with UK in WW1 and with Germany in WW2. Although as it relies on the US for its nuclear umbrella it might have some problems.

Sadly I think 6 hours to leave home is quite a short window so I do hope those who wish to get out can. At the very least it is hopeful this may happen again. Although I have a feeeling Russia has achieved its main goal and may now calm down and coslidate.

Yes. I sounds pro-putin and I accept people will make that accusation but beware Zelenski because truth will out that he is just as much to blame for this and he is the one pushing to involve the rest of us. I am more concerned about his actions than putins at the moment.

NYET!

If NATO grew a spine and made Putin an offer he couldn't refuse, he would for sure slink back with his tail between his little legs. This is not WW2 and it's a no brainer that in a WW3 there'd be no place for the craven coward to hide (except maybe China).

Your doom prediction is already happening WITHOUT NATO involvement, in fact most would say it is precisely happening because NATO is not involved. Putin is a bully, if there's credible resistance, he wouldn't be doing this.

Message to the world currently from Biden, Macron, Scholz (especially), Stoltenberg, Dragi, etc. is: FOLD into and be controlled by authoritarian states, the free world is out of business.

its not difficult to believe this whole invasion is about the ports with access to the Black Sea.

The CivMilAir Twitter account tracked what it said was a pair of B-52H bombers in Romanian airspace before they headed back to Hungary.

It takes two to tango.

If NATO and the US are not going to commit troops, and sanctions will not be enough, start negotiations the sooner the better. With more time, more territory will be taken and Ukraine will lose access to the sea becoming a landlocked country.

Biden (captain - feathersword) would have an army of analysts working for him. They would all be telling him sanctions are NOT working, especially when they are easily circumvented or just don't inflict pain.

They would be telling captain feathersword Putin's course has not changed, if anything intensified, more sufferings will ensue, nothing will change.

UNLESS Putin is opposed with symmetrical means - kinetic!

This is the reality of the Biden (captain feathersword) capaign against Putin.

What Ukraine need is a few squadrons of F35s, more drones, more anti tanks, more air defense, and intel. NOT TALK and useless sanctions.

It’s like an entire army of war criminals from the very top to the very bottom. What an undisciplined mess!

Russia-Ukraine war latest: Mariupol evacuation paused as Russian troops failing to observe ceasefire, Ukraine officials say

https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2022/mar/05/russia-ukraine-war-latest-news-nato-gives-green-light-to-bombing-with-lack-of-no-fly-zone-says-zelenskiy

It is an illusion to believe Putin will observe a ceasefire.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Putin rudely entered Ukraine uninvited whereas despite Zelenskiy's patent "invitation", Europe and Nato are wringing their hands and nail-chewing dithering at Ukraine's door. This is text-book appeasement 101.

Why? What are Russian troops even doing there?

Why? What are Russian troops even doing there?

easy...any Japanese 1st grader can answer that one.

Russian troops making natto out of NATO. Actually I'm not even sure which is more slimy or smelly NATO or natto.

Why? What are Russian troops even doing there?

They are there because the Ukraine government are US puppets who want to install weapons systems on Russia’s border, and Russia is willing to risk war to make sure they don’t.
