Some fine villages you got there, Mr. Putin. I hope Russian mothers consider it worth the cost.

They always say that the death throes are the most violent.

Russia is trying a final Hail Mary before American weapons start arriving.

3 ( +10 / -7 )

Not much of an offensive. Is Russia out of steam, or are they going to try somewhere else? They have taken very high casualties for almost no ground taken. Not even close to Kharkiv. And they've just sacked a bunch of generals. We will know if Russia doesn't have gas left in the tank if they starts making noises about negotiating. I suspect Putin visit to China was a cry for help. I'd say Western supplies might already be arriving, and it's turning the tables.

"This is their fault because they have shelled and continue to shell residential neighborhoods in border areas," Putin told reporters.

That’s what he says, but we all know it’s entirely Putin’s fault for invading Ukraine in the first place.

If Kyiv thinks it can sue for peace, they and their sponsors are very mistaken. Soon Kharkiv city will be in 152mm range.

Unconditional surrender.

Putain says - he always says!

Whenever he opens his mouth he spreads b.s.!

Of course he has no plans to occupy Kharkiv - he won't be able to do that!

He won't be able to keep all other illegally occupied areas, including Crimea, either.

Ukraine's time has come to send those Russian marauders back to where they came from.

Either alive or in body bags.

Ukraine prevails!

When is Ukraine gonna accept responsibility for their failures, instead of blaming others, the US is only enabling Ukraine corruption, without any accountability

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

Vladimir Putin said there were no current plans to occupy the key city of Kharkiv.

'No current plans', is that similar to 'not going to invade Ukraine', if so the Kremlin parrots in media, plus leaders of China, Iran, maybe many in Modi-land, and the "US Republican Party" might believe him, but reasonable people won't. He's a serial liar from a culture known for spinning truths for centuries. https://www.lemonde.fr/en/russia/article/2023/10/01/russia-uses-lies-as-weapons-of-mass-destruction_6142383_140.html

Oh, how considerate of Russia. They definitely didn't want to take any Ukrainian towns, just Ukrainian villages.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Unconditional surrender.

lol, of course. How soon are your predicting this 'unconditional surrender' will happen?

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Russia does not have the skill or manpower to take the city. Putin stated it wasn't his intention to do so.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

I'd say Western supplies might already be arriving, and it's turning the tables.

If we want to send Ukraine more and better weapons in 2025, we need to elect more Dems and non-MAGA Republicans. The 6-month MAGA delay in weapons cannot happen again.

Soon Kharkiv city will be in 152mm range.

You guys can shell civilians all you want. It isn't going to make them surrender to you, just hate you more.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Better start Talking,

The two sides have destroyed their people and infrastructures while accomplishing NOTHING by not talking.

So then we won't hear anymore about peace talks from you. Good to know.

Guess you don't care much for Russian speakers after all.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Better start Talking,

What is there left to say? Ukraine has already told Russia to go home. Russia doesn’t want peace and said no. There’s nothing left to say.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Guess you don't care much for Russian speakers after all.

It was never about protecting Russian speakers. There are fewer Russian speakers on this planet in 2024 than there were in 2022, mostly thanks to Putin's ill-conceived invasion.

On a trip to China, Putin said the latest assault was direct retaliation for Ukraine's shelling of Russia's border regions and his country was trying to create a "security zone".

"This is their fault because they have shelled and continue to shell residential neighborhoods in border areas," Putin told reporters.

Well said Mister Putin, well said..

Kyiv regime, surrender before it is too late..

Putin’s a clown in his own little circus. Overrated. Loooool.

Yes, more than Ukraine captured in its 9 MONTH "offensive". And in less than a week with less than 6-8,000 troops and very little heavy armour crossing the border.

Strangerland...

Russia is trying a final Hail Mary before American weapons start arriving.

LOL..... Those good old "game changers" that change nothing again? I'm sure Zelenskyy will welcome any weapons he can get but his bigger problem is manpower. World wide condemnation when Wagner recruited a few prisoners but crickets when Ukraine has released prisoners including murderers and rapists to join the military.

Hopefully Russia will fail miserably in its cruel aggression.

Go Ukraine!

Allegedly

World wide condemnation when Wagner recruited a few prisoners but crickets when Ukraine has released prisoners including murderers and rapists to join the military.

Ukraine's fighting for its survival. What is Russia's excuse for its barbarism?

Russia launched the surprise offensive into Ukraine's northeast on May 10, sending thousands of troops across the border and unleashing artillery fire on several settlements.

Sounds so big! OK thousands is technically correct, but according to the Ukrainian military the number of Russian troops was around 2,000 along a 250 km front!

Ukraine should have been able to handle that easily.

Oh except for the fact corruption meant the "minefields" were actually empty, the " concrete" trenches and bunkers no existant, the tank ditches and dragons teeth not there!

So what happened?

2000 Russia probing/r reconnaissance group crossed the border found little of nothing to stop them and so they kept going.

The again according to Ukraine Russia sent 2000 more to push further.

At this time only around 4,000 Russian troops have been sent in (again according to Ukranian military) Russia is holding nearly 40,000 behind the border.

So Zelensky has dismissed Colonel Serhii Lupanchuk from his role as the commander of the Ukrainian military's Special Operations Forces and replaced him with Brigadier General Oleksandr Trepak as the force's new commander because of the corruption!

Simply put, had the minefields, concrete trenches and bunkers, tank ditches and dragons teeth been in place, Russia would still be at the border.

Billions were spent and went to fake companies that built only on paper and the ones paying the price are the Ukrainian soldiers now trying to fight without proper defensive positions!

And what is the west's reaction? Send more money!

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

He said Ukrainian troops were resisting, but warned Russia was gaining ground near Lukyantsi, a village around 20 kilometers northeast of Kharkiv city.

What?

Even Deep state maps ultra pro Ukraine has relocated Russian troops in Lyptsi around 10km south of Lukyantsi this was nearly 2 days ago!

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

This is their fault because they have shelled and continue to shell residential neighborhoods in border areas," Putin told reporters.

Their shelling is probably due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. So really it is not their fault at all is it.

Another atypical Russian deflection of blame to cover their own behinds. No reasonable person believes Putin.

Mr. Putin - if you are planning on sending over the articles for unconditional surrender, don't send them by motorbike.

Just go home already, invaders. This doesn't get any better for you and in fact will get a whole lot worse.

President Vladimir Putin is addicted to war.

The Russian economy is permanently focused on fuelling a war footing.

You keep saying this, but the question is:

Is it worse for Russia or Ukraine?

Unless we are looking at different maps, Ukraine had lost more territory in 2023 and now lost nearly twice what it gained in the 2023 summer offensive in just a week!

So when is this " will get a whole lot worse" happen that you have been saying is coming for at least a year?
