The reports came four months to the day since Russian President Vladimir Putin sent tens of thousands of troops over the border

A very telling and accurate sentence. The number of actual Russian troops in Ukraine is less than 100,000, which in military terms is quite small.

For example, the US fielded over 500,000 troops in Desert Storm.

Moscow and its proxies have focused on the south and Donbas

Another tidbit of truth. What do they mean by "its proxies"?

A large portion of what the western media calls "Russian forces" are in fact Ukrainian citizens fighting against a government they consider oppressive and illegitimate. The Ukrainians in East Ukraine have been living in that area for generations and they speak Russian and by and large have Russian cultural ties.

They feel that they are being ethnically cleansed and are fighting for their lives and families.

Bronco, they leaving these foreigners to fend for themselves,if they do not sale them to the Russian as trophies

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

Tactical retreat, I'd say.

They'll be back with sabotage acts, guerilla style warfare, more heavy artillery, thus forcing those Russians to abandon the area(s) they're occupying now.

Oh, and besides, Bronco, it's not less than 100.000 Russian troops, but actually more than 150.000, at least 1/6th of them sent back in body bags already. (Ukrainian count 33.000+, other counts 20.000+, so using the average).

In addition, how come so many are fleeing the occupied areas direction free Ukraine? You say they're Russian speakers with with cultural ties. Guess, the Ukrainian ties must be stronger.

The Ukrainians knew this was coming, why hang on and watch the destruction of another beautiful city and the increase in fatalities. Could it be more money and weapons

6 ( +11 / -5 )

Is this going to be the same " evacuation/end of mission, etc.." as Azovstal in Mariupol?

Remember the Ukrainian position is they didn't surender.

So here Ukraine was trying to repeat the international oohs and ahhs support that the Mariupol standoff got and it didn't work.

Now they say again the are "pulling out, will that "pull out" include a vacation in a Russian POW camp like those from Azovstal in Mariupol?

If I remember correctly they are completely surrounded, back to a river and all but one bridge has been destroyed and the only way out is across that bridge which is in Russian hands.

The east of life in this conflict has been more futile and stupid than most with propaganda being more important than the men fighting and dying.

A silver lining for Ukraine is having the Russians bunched up with none of their servicemen there. As more accurate Western armaments pour in, Russian casualties are bound to increase.

it really is so refreshing to see the closet war mongers come out when the MSM says so.

If it goes ahead, the withdrawal from Sievierodonetsk

The withdrawal from Sievierodonetsk started weeks ago. Of course, when your fighters are withdrawing against orders, it's called desertion, but the effect is the same.

Kiev literally put every fighter it could order or trick into going to the front line into maintaining its last toehold in the industrial heartland of the former Ukraine and lost most of them (some as casualties, but lots to mass surrender and desertion) despite all the weapons that their foreign backers could shove into their hands.

It's not a lack of modern weapons that sees the Kiev regime's territory shrinking every day, it's that the people of the former Ukraine don't see it as legitimate (people who can manage to keep their cell phones charged but who's weapons systems don't work because the batteries are dead aren't trying to win a battle for the government that dragooned them into its military, they're trying to survive longer than the regime)

More strange we are losing but winning fantasies.

We have been fed this since the start.

Russia losing 30,000 USA and UK now say that is not true UK saying at most 15,000 USA saying closer to 10,000,

Russia tried to take Kyiv: not even close never committed enough troops to do it, the bulk of their forced were taking the south while Ukrane ran to defend Kyiv.

Russia was using it planes, mysterious ghost of Kyiv was shooting them down supposedly over 40 planes shot down. All false even Kyiv had to finally admit it was fake.

Mariupol Azovstal didn't surender, they completed their mission and "evacuated" right into Russia POW camps.

15,000 tanks destroyed, nope USA and UK analyst now say fewer than a 1,000 if even that.

Are we going to keep believing the western/Ukraine propaganda at face value?

Look we all ignore Russia propaganda because we are intelligent enough to know it is all bull.

But Ukraine has been feeding us the same bull and most are eating it up.

There is no doubt that Putin is playing 20th century games, but so are the rest of them. The fact that it’s in your backyard must be shocking. A word of advice please, never listen to the corporate MSM, it’s the mouthpiece for the globalists and will only get more innocent killed.

EU is using Ukraine,as a shield until ,they figure out ,how to deal with Putin, Ukraine is in a rude awakening, when the European start complaining about the treatment of Russian speaking Ukrainian, the honeymoon is already over Zelensky, just do not know it

-10 ( +2 / -12 )

Why do we publish any official claims by Moscow or Kyiv.

Nothing from either can be trusted.

No need to point out the lies from Moscow, the reasons for this war are sufficient.

But Kyiv is bordering on criminal just like Moscow.

The claims that contradict the fact are off the charts.

They claim 30,000 Russians killed but have fewer than 1,000 Russian POWs ( that wouldn't be on the level of Germany no prisoners policy in WW2). ( Truth USA says around 10,000 Russians killed possibly 15,000.

Russians are deserting, well then we're are they? Remember Ukraine says only about 1,000 POW and deserters are held as POWs.

Ukraine claims 15,000 tank destroyed, but USA and UK analyst says fewer than 1,000.

Ukraine claimed it took the border and pushed Russian ls back into Russia in Kharkiv region, only for the Russians to be at the edge of Kharkiv city just a day or 2 later.

Ukraine now says it's forces will withdraw from Sievierodonetsk, really, how? They are fully surrounded the only bridge left standing into Ukraine controlled territory is held by Russia.

Is this another Mariupol Azovstal evacuation into Russian POW camps?

Russia or its puppet state in east Ukraine have acknowledged holding over 10,000 Ukrainian troops as POWs.

I know Ukraine is the underdog and you all want it to win honestly so would I despite not trusting it.

But I live in the real world and the numbers, the information, the facts just don't add up.

Ukraine has not won a single thing and is doing nothing more than asking for more and more money and weapons.

This support for Ukraine sending young men into suicide missions claiming false victory based on "moral victory" is near criminal.

If we did the same towards Russia or any other conflicts, we would be calling the leaders criminals (as we are rightly doing with Putin) buy Ukraine is using its troops as cannon fodder and people praise the "bravery".

The U.N. nuclear watchdog said it was is increasingly concerned about the welfare of Ukrainian staff at the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in southeastern Ukraine, Europe's largest

How many people missed this hugely important point in the article.

The lights in Ukraine are controlled and kept on by the Russian army.

They can turn them off whenever they want but they don't.

Russia obviously isn't fighting an all out war to destroy Ukraine, their goals are limited and focused only on the Russian speaking areas.

If Putin wanted to, he could cut the power to Kiev and the country would collapse after a few days.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

“Bronco, they leaving these foreigners to fend for themselves…”

Rather ironic that the Russian soldiers are also foreigners in Ukraine, isn’t it? The only difference is the Russian soldiers are invaders and the other group are defenders.

Ukrainian troops set to quit ruined Sievierodonetsk as Russians close in

Nice headline made by propaganda specialist,my hat is off.

I would argue it isn't a lie as more an exaggeration.

We keep sweeping under the rug the fact that the region has been at war since 2014, we ignored the 14,000 killed in that time, we ignored the fact Ukraine signed but did not implement the Minsk 2 agreement, to be honest they completely ignored it and continued the fighting and building higher walls ( figuratively) that they knew the ethnic Russians would and could never accept.

We have been fed the idea that Ukraine is united but the facts don't add up, why was a pro Russian President in power before the coup?

We'll because he was voted in by the majority and it was clear he was pro Russia before the election, why was he overthrown instead of keeping to the new election agreement?

Simple look at any electoral map of the Ukraine since 1991 and you will notice a consistent 50/50 split east west in the voting, pro Russian on the east pro west in the west.

Are we to believe that the near 50% that consistently voted pro Russia since 1991 in every election have suddenly changed their minds and sides?

Please go look at the election results starting in 1991

There's no withdrawal, as they've been encircled by the Russian "paper-tiger" army.

Ukrainian soldiers will soon be "evacuated" to Siberia by the "paper tigers"

Simples.

The Kremlin has lost the plot. They alleged that they invaded Ukraine to protect Russian-speakers from genocide, but they immediately started a genocide of Russian-speakers in Ukraine. Presumably they are more cruel than dumb, but they are outstanding in both regards.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

The one point that the Kremlin propagandists on JT conveniently avoid is that it was Russia that INVADED Ukraine and began killing civilians and destroying cities in an obvious attempt to steal portions of the country. No matter how much propaganda, on either side, the fact is nothing can justify Russia’s invasion of a sovereign neighbor.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

“Set to quit”?

super supportive way to say “were defeated militarily”. Quit almost sounds like it was an intentional choice. Like last time when they were “evacuated”.

Yes yes yes we know, say fact and truth and we are all Russian propagandists.

The fact the war started in 2014, , the fact 14,000 had been killed since 2014, the fact Ukraine avoided implementing Minsk 2 ( even their allies admit this fact,)

The fact Ukraine has been lying constantly from day one, bothers you and others when pointed out.

We could and do criticise Putin and Moscow but that is irrelevant because you and other want only to hear the fantasy of Ukraine propaganda, and I have multiple times pointed them out, including links to the facts issued by Ukrane's allies like the USA and UK which contradict much of the Ukrainian propaganda.

No 15,000 Russian tanks destroyed, no 30,000 Russian tools killed, no mass desertion of Russian troops, no mythical Ukrainian pilot shooting down 40 Russian planes, no evacuation of Azovstal but actually a surender, and the list goes on.

Ukraine claims 30,000 Russian killed thousands of Russian deserting but fewer than 1,000 POWs taken, that would be one crazy death to prisoner ratio and would contradict Russian troops deserting but more likely fighting to the death.

We know not to believe the information from Moscow, but the fantasy info being sent our way by Kyiv is just as bad now.

You think it hell now wait ,when winter, people in Ukraine will not have warm water be in some places,I am person that look in the future

Bingo!

western media is all propaganda. Try RT News, but oh, it is banned.

(BTW, they even quoted JT in this conservative site.)

Ukrainian troops set to quit ruined city as Russians close in:

This may be seen as a temporary setback for Ukraine that has been claiming victory all the time.

It is joining EU. As such, the west can go all out with full force to support Kiev with weapons & military personnel.

Thus..

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Well if Ukraine would stop with the obvious propaganda it wouldn’t have to be pointed out and dealt with as clear lies.

????

Ukraine hasn't won a single fight, even the so-called win in Kyiv was nothing more than Ukraine barely holding on as a distractionary force pulled back once Russia had secured most of the south east.

Ukraine's "victories" are all defeats that the MSM, Ukraine and it's Allies turn into "moral victories" Azovstal surender best example of "mission completed" "evacuation" meaning, lost and taken prisoner.

Joining the EU MSM false headlines.

Read the fine print, it will take at least 10 years and that is if Ukraine can end the war, if Ukraine can fix it's corruption problems ( remember Ukraine is the most corrupt country in Europe after Russia), if it can gets its economy up to the needed level.

So basically no way it will be EU for at least 10 years or more, this is another of the hollow victories another "moral victory" meaning nothing.

Even in the MSM propaganda they have to put the facts and truth but hidden where few finish reading past the headline, as we see here.

Go back and read the EU statement and conditions for Ukraine to join.

But Ukraine was invaded!

(doesn’t mean they get to be untruthful as a result)

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

"But, but... Ukraine propaganda!"

Lest you forget that NONE of this would even be a situation right now at this very moment, if Russia never invaded.

Simply put, you can't pin this all on Ukraine. FACT. Russia CREATED this entire situation. FACT. Russia invaded Ukraine. FACT. Putin just wants to use old fashioned imperialistic expansion.

This is blatantly obvious to anyone that has paid attention to history, and the patterns of what is being done today.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Lest you forget that NONE of this would even be a situation right now at this very moment, if Russia never invaded.

Yep it also wouldn't be a situation if Ukraine had kept to the agreement of new elections instead of violent overthrowing the elected president in 2014, or following the Minsk 2 agreement, etc ..

Plenty of blame on both sides.

Remember look up Minsk 2, even Ukrane's allies agree Ukraine violated it from the start

And a well timed retreat means you get to fight another day.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Tooheysnooze, I guess you missed that Kiev's ultraextremists are too busy running around arresting politicians and other dissidents, and keeping the retreating front line units from marching on Kiev to oust the idiots in charge to do much raping, murdering, or looting

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Antiquesaving

If you truly believe that the attack on Kiev was a distraction, then I do believe you have fallen for confirmation bias.

You do realize that Putin thought the invasion would be over in days and that he had aimed getting rid of Zelensky and installing a puppet in his place. That's not what a diversionary force does.

It wasn't a diversion. The Russian bit off more than they can chew, lost way too many men and tanks, and had to retreat and regroup. Humiliating.
