Russia’s actions depend on NATO and negotiations. NATO’s eastward expansion is provocative. The US had a melt down with missiles in Cuba. I’m sure they understand Putin’s concern. Is Putin placing missiles in Canada or Mexico?
Is it excessive to ask not to place any “more” offensive system in front of Russia’s house?

Wait what!?
The elite and their MSM lapdogs all over the modern world have been pushing the “war with Russia”. Somebody must have pulled the plug. What you’ll see next is slow back walk from the edge, though there never was a cliff in the first place.

Yet the globe's far right claim Putin is NOT warmonger-ing. While cheering on a continuation of the fossil economy for which wars have long been fought and millions have died. While Putin puts his fellow Slavic peoples on both sides of the border at risk.
Though it's not a one-t-o one comparison, the far right cheering on Putin should recall what happened to Stalin's forces when they tried to invade Finland, in what some call the 'Winter War'. Though Russians and others favoring the USSR might have been taught a different version of history. After all, the USSR was on the winning side and typically that means they get to revise history to suit their agenda.

So let's start a nuclear war just because you feel like whining that the world isn't fair?

The only ones I see who are saying a war is about to start are US and UK. It's as if they want a war, just like they want to start a war with China. Russia and China are not stupid. Unlike US, both countries only have soldiers around their borders. They do not military men and bases all over the globe. Although they're not perfect, USA is no goodie two shoe either. It craves war, as we've seen over and over again. Those weapon manufacturers need their money.

Thus far Russia's moves are purely defensive (though they did state ahead of time they HAD TO take care of a situation in Ukraine, which had an ongoing policy of shelling neighborhoods that were supportive of Russia) so there's that, but considering the buildup NATO is in the middle of, Russia's actions are completely justified.

I've had difficulty in understanding the Ukraine issue. Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union until 1991 when the Soviet Union collapsed. After it parted from the Soviet Union, the country was split between the pro-NATO western region and the pro-Russian, ethnically or otherwise, eastern region.
So, basically, the Ukraine issue is a quasi-civil war.
I want to watch the current and future developments of the Ukraine issue with this in mind. Maybe, somebody could correct my misunderstanding if there is any.

Interesting comments from Mitch McConnell today;
*McConnell said Biden now appears to be adopting the right approach to Ukraine following a weekend meeting with his security team at Camp David. "What I've been hearing since then is encouraging, that they're prepared to take steps before an incursion, not afterwards," McConnell said at a news conference in Frankfort, Kentucky. "It appears to me the administration is moving in the right direction," he added. *
Just several days ago the Trump supporters here were defending Mitch for his "Americans" gaffe....will they defend him today?
I'd put my money on them going back to calling him "sell-out, RINO, scum" like they did the previous week...
Welcome to MAGA-world....

Ukraine is an applicant by its own choice. Are you saying that Ukraine shouldn't be able to decide its own foreign relations?

The regime's goal of getting a massive infusion of cash before they started defaulting on the loans it's surviving on, but fears that the US is going to keep Project Paper Tiger until it is 'dragged into' a new war, something that will either doom the regime (even without Crimea, a reunified Ukraine national election is going to end up in the same result as the one that resulted in the government that was overthrown in the US approved coup) or doom the regime's ambitions (A Ukraine separated by the 'superpowers' into East and West, with attacks across the line becoming a major international crisis, rather than an 'internal matter' means that the regime can't slaughter its way into control of the eastern provinces and the property of the displaced and killed)

Well well well!!! The Kiev "warriors", backed, armed to the teeth & pushed by US to hamper with Russia, screamed to the world about Russian forces build-up in justification for a provocation against Donbass. But as Russia made it very clear that she will break the nose of any aggressor, the Kiev boys decided to "Stay calm, as Russian invasion is no longer imminent"!!!

Yes, of course, that was right from the beginning a false flag. The ones who want a war there are all outside of Russia and Ukraine. Look, they are two people like siblings, connected and quasi-unified through a centuries old same history , religion, culture and so on. They like to brawl, but not to fight deadly each other. Like you probably did as a youngster with your older or younger brothers and sisters at your home… nothing severe, after all, right?

Well, if Ukraine doesn’t join NATO he doesn’t have to be.
Since fossil fuel is the heart and economic soul of our global energy source and will remain so for years to come why would they stop rebuilding their economy in the year 2022 especially when there is no long-term viable fuel source? Financially the country is not in the greatest shape and because of the environmentalists they need to further scale back? Not going to happen.
They’re not cheering Putin because they like the guy, they just think there’s no national interest for the US when Russia is not the real geopolitical threat.
True, but being geopolitically ignorant is only helping China and Russia just always remember that.

The world hasn't seen this kind of behavior since the beginning of WWII when Germany surrounded then Czechoslovakia and demanded the Sudetenland, which was populated by many German immigrants. Same thing in Ukraine where the Russians feel they're entitled to the whole thing because some (Not all!) Ukrainians are of Russian stock.
Furthermore, the whole atmosphere around the Ukraine Crisis is similar to the Sudetenland Crisis in that there are many who seemingly want to appease Putin just as they did Hitler.
To appease or not to appease.....that is the question, isn't it?
Personally, I'm against violence but I'm not against all other forms of diplomatic and economic pressure, so I lean in that direction.

I think it's time for NATO and the rest of the west to slap down the gauntlet. If Russia makes a move, it'll be more than sanctions to impoverish Putin and his buddies. It wouldn't take a nuclear weapon, just a hideous assault on all those massed troops on Ukraine's border.
I say that only because I'm tired of tyrants thinking they're omnipotent. Erase Putin, first. Then see what happens. Sorry, but sometimes it has to happen. Sadly, today we have no Churchills, no FDRs. Just appeasers. Makes for a sad world.
