While Moscow ignores the fact they started the war, intensified it and are the ones that are prolonging it by keeping their troops in Ukraine. What threat will Putin have his puppet Medvedev make next; perhaps nuke the world. Where is Putin's partner China, why are China not pushing for Russia to withdraw and stop their mad butchering of civilians and wanton destruction of civilian infrastructure. After all, China is all about global domination through trade, and Putin's war is hurting world trade and the Chinese economy. Or have Putin and Xi made a new version of Molotov-Ribbencoff and already made plans to divide the world between them: if so how much will they give Iran and North Korea, perhaps India, too for their roles in supporting Russia's war?

4 months ago we were told that the Patriot missile system would stop the missile strikes.
Can we get a follow up on those game changing weapon systems.

Does 'we' include those that actually believe what anonymous posters on social media sites claim? And does it also include those that actually believe what some source might have claimed on media of any kind, to be factual? If so, I question not only their educational level but their ability to sort opinion from fact. Or perhaps 'fact' in their language has a meaning that is different from what it means in English. In Russian do 'fact' and 'opinion' mean the same thing. Or do those that believe anonymous social media posters follow the George Costanza line of reasoning and say "it's not a lie if you believe it"?

Quite apart from the harm to Ukraine, Russia has committed the biggest case of self-harm maybe in history. It doesn't even win any propaganda battles because it has zero credibility, except with a few Putin fanboys. Putin is the problem. The sooner the Russians rid the world of him the better.
Strangerland
One year ago we were told Moscow would overthrow Kyiv in 72 hours.
fallaffel
Nearly all missiles, and all(?) drones were shot down. Do you really believe all of the intended targets were hit?
Peeping_Tom
Since March 2022 we've been told by US & British (un)intelligence that the Russians run out of missiles.
And troops!
Were we, (or were we not) TOLD bluntly this was the case????
Awa no Gaijin
If they were really seriously devoted to protecting Ukraine then why haven't they made Ukraine a NATO member ?
And hurry up and send them what you promised.
Strangerland
Yes, this needs to happen faster. As well as Sweden and Finland, even if that means kicking out Turkey.
Awa no Gaijin
That was a false announcement intended to make you believe Russia has been failing all this time.
Did Russia announced that ?
No they didn't !
In reality Russia never expected to just take territory in Ukraine likeysplit.
Strangerland
Why would Russia do that to themselves?
Yes.
Cricky
Patriot system hasn’t arrived yet, might explain why it hasn’t stopped missiles. I also loved the Russian military spokesman saying “ we have destroyed 4 Bradly fighting vehicles” that have not been deployed yet. Or the constant claim of destroying HMARS so far if you believe the Russians they have destroyed more than were produced let alone sent to the Ukraine.
Peeping_Tom
"If they were really seriously devoted to protecting Ukraine then why haven't they made Ukraine a NATO member ?"
Ukraine will NOT become a NATO member ever.
What would the US of A do if Russian troops and missiles were placed on the Canadian border?
Or in Mexico?!
We know (well, not all as it's evident by the comments here) how the US of A reacted in Cuba and in Grenada, don't we?
The US is not stupid enough to wanting to start a nuclear war no one will win.
Not even the US of A is that STUPID.

Putin through Medvedev and others has threatened to use nukes if Russia are not able to destroy Ukraine on their terms, through what you have called a 'party", and that Russia cannot be trusted and that Russia is led by madmen is well-known. Only the nuttiest among the most extreme anti-westerners might be willing to see the world nuked and claim that's acceptable.
Strangerland
Yes they will. Along with Sweden and Finland. It's as inevitable as Russia losing this war at this point. The only real question is if Turkey is still a part of NATO when it's all done. They'd better hope they are, or they'll be the next country to be attacked by Russia, and that won't be good for them if they're not part of NATO. Not good at all.
Peeping_Tom
"Yes they will. Along with Sweden and Finland."
Maybe you ought to revise your history; just a bit will do you a power of good.
Sweden and Finland yes.
Ukraine?
NOPE.
History and geopolitics; that's all you need.
cenobite
Nothing against Russians per se, my good friend is one, but Ukraine should be given a surplus of fighter jets and bombers to send the invaders back to Russia quicksharpish. It’s not even up for debate who is the aggressor and the wrong side here, although the internet will bark otherwise regardless
Strangerland
NOPE.
You seem to not realize that history now includes Ukraine being invaded by Russia. New history mate. Ukraine, Finland and Sweden.
Bob Fosse
You say a lot of things that never happen.
It’s winter now. You kept saying winter would decide this war. It didn’t.
Hold off on the predictions, hold off on the history lessons. Focus on what’s happening now.
Peeping_Tom
"New history mate. Ukraine, Finland and Sweden."
I know, I know.
Chickens will have teeth.
And pigs might fly.
It takes about 3 minutes for a US nuclear missile to reach Moscow from the the Ukraine border.
Get real, please.
Read history, skip fantasy.
Mr Kipling
How are these facilities being destroyed when the Ukrainians say they are shooting down all the drones and missiles?
What else are the Ukrainians not being honest about?
fallaffel
They hit 5 targets....5. Where is the lie in this story? Btw, you are the one saying they shot down all of the missiles, not the Ukrainian government.
Rodney
It’s a trap! Russia will easily capture these various tanks from incompetent, badly trained Ukrainian and then reverse engineer and sell to China. A stupid trap!
Cricky
With the USA, European, British security services watching gathering intelligence I’d have to go with them. Russian intelligence said Ukraine would fall in weeks. And here we a a year latter with convicts and conscripts getting slaughtered. Not the best look for any country.
Rodney
For those who think Russia missiles are ineffective, go to all the cities and towns in Ukraine that have no electricity, water, transportation, and then take into account that Russia is using up its stocks of older, out of date munitions and saving the top ones for NATO. Hopefully not japan too…

I am upset,no "UA winning news" again today and no step closer to final victory, even with all possible support from west,embargoes/sanction,smoney sent, weaponry sent and propaganda in newsoutlets daily published. No party in Kiev,no selfies next to some damaged bridge.
Let me be honest-these few tanks to be sent to UA will be no new "game changers" as well.
Russian bears wont be threatened or afraid. You do underestimate them-you paying and will pay price for it.
Russia will prevail!
Blacklabel
Patriots? The Ukrainians only even started “training” on how to use the systems (in the USA) within the last 2 weeks.
“eventual” deployment. Doesn’t sound promising.

Peeping_Tom
But this is just irrelevant. Because, as we all know, no newly joined NATO countries have any nukes stationed in them. So if Ukraine had joined NATO, NATO would NOT move nukes to Ukraine.
Your argument is based on a false premise.
TokyoOldMan
I wonder if Russia will end up with a lot of NATO Tech/Military equipment, and then what ?
stormcrow
Russia is like Midori. Putin is it’s Sauron. And NATO is like Middle Earth trying to push the invading orcs back into the darkness from whence they came.
TokyoOldMan
Now, throwing a curve ball here...
What happens if Russia positions their Subs off UK and US, and then launches a sudden Nuke strike against Washington, & London with their super fast missiles ? The Western Leadership would clearly in that case be gone, so what happens ?
A knee jerk reaction to Nuke Russia would go ahead ?
What about North Korea, China and Iran - should they also be included in this automatic reaction ?
I think the realities of what happens next, need to be laid out clearly here for ALL to understand.
Imagine a Terrorist with a Nuke, destroying the Whitehouse, and its surrounding area...
stormcrow
Midori / Mordor
Damn self correcting app!

Sell it to China to be reverse engineered. with the rest going to Africa and other terror hot spots on the black market.
did we “vet” the soldiers who are being trained on our advanced weapons in the USA right now?!
Ego Sum Lux Mundi
Croatia very sensibly wants no part of NATO’s war on Russia:
Neither, apparently, does France.
But while it takes two to tango, it only takes one to war. And Russia is now “at war with NATO and the West” thanks to the neocons’ successful escalation of the conflict in Ukraine.
The Asian and Arab nations have already taken Russia’s side. The African nations don’t really matter, but they will do so as well. I expect that more than a few European nations will follow suit once it becomes abundantly clear to even the most casual observer that NATO has zero chance of winning the war. And when I say zero, I mean ZERO. None whatsoever.
Based on a comparison of the technological and industrial capacities, the United States and the UK have about the same chance of defeating the Sino-Russian alliance as Japan had of defeating the US/UK alliance in WWII. Which is just one reason why no American or European should lift a finger, let alone risk his life, for Clown World and its wicked disorder.
kurisupisu
The Russians will not tolerate Ukraine being supplied by European and American weapons.
If those supply lines are disrupted by Russian military action then the supplying countries will do what?
No response?
If there is a response then the world will see that the path to nuclear war has been laid…

Ego Sum Lux Mundi
LOL!
Did Russia or China pay you to post this?
UChosePoorly
Ego Sum Lux Mundi - what are your qualifications to be able to weigh in on military matters? Also, when do you think the Russian army is going to finally make it to Portugal like your predicted last year?
I may be hitting you up soon when betting on the Superbowl starts. You pick your winner and will confidently place my bet on their opponent.
Numan
Training combat hardened Ukrainian troops how to use new equipment will not be as challenging as people realize especially with an effective support system coming from Western countries. The US or any other Western country will allow Ukraine to embarrass them by failing with their tanks. If their equipment fails it is bad for business or the military industrial complex. The tanks need to perform to sell more.
Ex. Turkey wants to buy US F-16s not Russian or Chinese jets. They do not want a Chinese made aircraft carrier.
The problem with all this new equipment going to Ukraine will be the maintenance. However, the same is true for Russia.
Logistics play a greater role in long term wars.

Tank training for US soldiers is 22 weeks. And no they aren’t sent to the battle field to fight experienced tank operators the next day.
