Re-repeating Kremlin/CCP messages might appeal to the Kremlin/CCP followers but most others living outside totalitarian states can have access to the Internet which allows us to have a wide array of media sources providing an array of perspectives different from those pushed by China and Russia's respective dictators and their regime's ruling caste.

Ukraine war hangs over UN meeting on nukes treaty's legacy:
UN can keep on talking about Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty after the meeting has been revived.
Well, expect another zero outcome, given the many lingering practically non-resolvable issues..

If you look at the other JT News Story about Putin, here (Navy Day), you'll see he's the only one holding onto a hand Rail... interesting, I wonder if he's got a Medical issue which makes him unstable... Physically and Mentally....

Hear hear. Very well said @NEMO

Russia has no defense capable of stopping all the nukes the US can launch, it could not even stop half of them. Their hypersonic missiles are no help in defense. So tell me again why should America plead with Russia and China? If either use there hypersonic missile armed with nuclear warheads that is the end of them as US boomers would position 10 minutes from Russian coast lines and have Nukes in Moscow in 5-10 minutes.
It is called mutually assured destruction for a reason. Because all would be destroyed. That has not changed.
Russia and China should plead with the US to go along with nuclear reductions, if they are serious about a peaceful world. Nobody watching Ukraine believes they actually want peace. They want power and control. The US and free Europe plus democratic Asia, stand between them and their goals.

Well, I once was young too and demonstrated, thought they could resolve it, signed petitions etc. But one becomes quickly realistic and pessimistic on that topic. If they haven’t managed to abolish the nuclear armaments for more than seven decades, why does anyone estimate or have hopes they will do it now or soon? In contrary, the old systemic conflicts broke out again, the Cold War, that not really ended, now became quite some hotter again and the countries without nukes show more and more activities to get a few into their possessions. So no real need to discuss it because it’s going to be the same or even bigger mess as already before.

Avenger raises an excellent point. Ukraine was given security guarantees most importantly by Russia in return for giving up what was then the world’s 3rd largest arsenal.
If Ukraine had 1/10 of its previous stockpile, Russia would still be on its side of the border.
So good luck getting a country that’s gone nuclear to give it up now because security guarantees seem to count for squat.
Oh, and that isn’t the NK made up bunk of “look what happened to Saddam and in Libya.” Neither of them had nukes and it wasn’t the US doing the bombing here. No this one is all on Putie and his merry band of morons.
So in the future, when the anti-democratic forces start talking about US intransigence on the NPT, point out that the spear sticking through the heart of the treaty has a made in Moscow label on the shaft

India and Pakistan, which didn't sign, went on to get the bomb.
After Zulfikar Bhuttos declaration that Pakistanis will eat grass and go hungry but they will have their bomb, it did not make any sense for India to sign.
India’s first nuclear test in 1974 was proclaimed as a peaceful nuclear explosion (if there can ever be such a thing) and the coded message to the leadership after it was successful was ‘the Buddha is smiling.’
North Korea, which ratified the pact but later announced it was withdrawing.
North Korea as well as Iran received help from the notorious Pakistani nuclear scientist and proliferator AQ Khan, so the US can thank its great ally Pakistan for arming these countries with the bomb.
The Avenger
There are more countries out there trying to acquire nuclear weapons than those that would get rid of theirs. No country in their right mind will give up their nuclear weapons now. Ukraine would not have been invaded if they still had theirs.

@Redstorm
No Japan is not the only country to have suffered multiple nuclear bombings

Not as embarrassing as this talking point straight from the mother land.
This isn’t St. Petersburg, Rodney. We have actual access to actual facts and this ... er,... “statement” is as idiotic as it is false.
Nemo
All MIRV ICBMs can do this and have since at least the mid-70s if not earlier, Einstein. Literally everything you describe the US has been able to do for decades.
And the reason that US yields tend to be lower is due to their much higher accuracy.
So Russia and China can pound sand.
Gobshite
The toothless UN and Joe Biden..... what a stellar combination.
Rodney
well, technically Ukraine is a terrorist state since the US-backed neo-nazi otherthrow of the democratically elected government in 2014 and the slaughter of civilians in Donbass, when only Russia came to their rescue, would be a tad bit difficult to explain. Embarrassing maybe.
Kyo wa heiwa dayo ne
What the heck it Japan do there then as the newest country seeking nuclear deterrence but has terrible safety standards.
Happy Day
It’s astounding how much the world has changed in only 18 months.
SarcasmOnly
Don't worry folks - the UN will surely resolve are challenges!

Zelensky is having a meltdown, because the US,will not declare Russia a terrorist state, the US know they are terrorizing Ukraine, but it not in the interest of the US to do, Zelensky is pushing the panic button,he only has 90 days to pacify Russia or Ukraine is headed into stone age

Rodney,I do not care if you despise my country, but do not be gleeful of my fellow Americans getting Nukes by our adversaries
Rodney
America should go begging to Russia and China. Both process supersonic weapons that no defense system can shoot down. At Mack9 speed, one missile can deploy between 10-20 individual steerable warheads. The Hiroshima nuclear bomb was 15ktons, but each of these warheads can contain up to 200ktons. The ones being fitted currently to Russian warships and submarines have a range of up to 1500km. So from the North Atlantic and North Pacific almost all major US cities could be bye-bye. These are only sea based delivery. Then there are ICBM.
more scary is that China also has this technology. But they don’t show it off in public.
USA, swallow your pride and help world peace please.
