He already did -

Not in the future when it comes to taxpayer money

How do you know? He already flipped and supported it this time...

Didn't ask that -

And? So what?

You dodged - was Trump wrong to support this aid bill you think is wasted money? Yes or no...

I asked whether Trump wrong for supporting this aid you think is wasting money?

I already answered that.

ROFL...checkmate...

A Russian victory in Ukraine would also be a defeat for the US and NATO.

Sorry Russia fans

None here, but continue…

(that includes those that use the cost as an excuse to allow the Russians to win),

Translation: screw the taxpayer and what they think or feel about their money, we the government will decide what and how to use your money. Stalinist at best.

Americans don’t like fascist regimes and they really don’t like expansionist fascist regimes.

And that’s why Biden’s numbers are dropping faster than the Gap Band can sing: “You dropped the bomb on me.”

Now that the UA will have plenty of ammo to shoot, more Russians will be going home in bags.

And And more Ukrainian as well with the help of Russian China, in the end, Moscow will still stand, and Kyiv will have fallen

But you can save them by just going home.

Never going to happen.

-9 ( +5 / -14 )

Won't have to - Trump will give it to him...

Which comes from Taxpayer money, doubt he will

He already did - he could have come out with a statement saying every Repub should vote no on this bill - HE DIDN'T....giving it his OK....

So Trump partnered with Johnson and Jefferies to pass Ukraine aid...was he right or wrong?

Election year not a of choices, but I get why both men did what they did for now.

Some more money for some more deaths.

What next when this money runs out, some more of the same and dead bodies?

There needs to be a diplomatic solution than coffins.

Zelensky still has one Ace up his sleeve when this money runs out...

Beg for more U.S. taxpayer funded money?

Won't have to - Trump will give it to him...

Remarks made by Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, on Sunday crediting former President Donald Trump for Ukraine aid funding has raised eyebrows on social media.

During an interview appearance on Fox News Sunday, Graham stated his approval for the House of Representatives approving more than $60 billion in aid to Ukraine to bolster its fight against Russia's invasion that began in February 2022. The bill designates approximately $10 billion of the Ukraine funding as repayable loans.

"There's a loan component to it. This would not have passed without President Trump. I want to thank the House Speaker [Mike Johnson] and [Minority Leader] Hakeem Jeffries working together in a bipartisan fashion to give weapons to Ukraine to fight a fight that matters to us," Graham said.

Ok, but it’s not going to save that nation.

And when it fails (and strong indications show that it is) then what, ask for more money?

The delay in funding just means Russia can take advantage of being able to do things like use way more artillery, etc. and gain some ground.

Sigh, the EU should foot much of the cost for defending Ukraine. Google prof Mearsheimer, IMHO he has the best understanding of the situation.

He doesn't. He mistakenly thinks NATO expansion is a factor. It isn't.

For someone who actually understands Ukraine, Google Timothy Snyder.

You make the incorrect assumption Ukraine can win. They can't.

Winning isn't binary. With funding, Ukraine can do better.

Ok. Thanks for paying then. You’ll likely pay more again too, thanks in advance.

Our MAGA-friends here aren't fooling anyone but themselves...

The only reason they refuse to support Ukraine is because they love Trump and Trump loves Putin - it's as simple as that....

All the talk about "proxy wars" and "my money" is just MAGA hot air...

Just like with abortion, Trump could do a 180 flip on his position tomorrow and they'd all demanding we give B2s to Zelensky...

Have the honesty and courage to admit the truth...you ain't foolin' anybody...

Maybe, maybe not. In any case, money to defend themselves means that their eventual outcome will be better.

It also tells Russia that it won't just get away with invading it's neighbors, and they will pay a heavy, heavy price for doing so.

And China about Taiwan.

It says a lot about the GOP that they are so willing to damage US's reputation and standing in the world.

It's time for Ukraine to negotiate a settlement.

Yes, Russia leaves their country, pays its reparations, and all its leaders submit to their war crimes trials at the Hague.

How about that settlement?

5 ( +11 / -6 )

And Ukraine will still fall in the end.

Pay them in delivery of hard equipment you mean.

Fact check: FALSE

https://apnews.com/article/fact-check-us-aid-ukraine-money-equipment-714688682747

The U.S. Agency for International Development has in releases and a report to Congress outlined how budgetary support to the Ukrainian government has been used. Some of the funding has been spent, for example, on social assistance payments and salaries for health care workers, first responders and educators. It also helps cover pensions and support Ukrainians displaced by the war.

40 billion dollars here.

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

Just more proof of the proxy war.

Not a proxy war. Repeating the same thing over and over doesn't make it true.

6 ( +14 / -8 )

You know the most ironic thing about this Ukraine aid package? It shows just what Losers the MAGA-faction of the Repub party is...

Remember when Trump told them to torpedo that combined Ukraine aid and border security bill, negotiated and approved by Sen Jim Lankford, one of the most conservative Repubs in the Senate...how did that turn out for them?

1) Ukraine aid passed anyway...

2) They proved to the American public what utter hypocrites they were, by refusing to support a real fix to the border...

Losing and humiliation X2...with more coming in Nov...

9 ( +13 / -4 )

Add one more example to the Repub civil war...

"Representative Tony Gonzales, a Texas Republican, shared a stunning condemnation of some his GOP colleagues on Sunday.  During a panel discussion on CNN's State of the Union, Gonzales, a Republican who voted for the foreign aid package, was asked by host Dana Bash about the opposition to Johnson's leadership and whether he'll be able to "survive."

"I serve with some real scumbags," Gonzales said. He then took specific aim at Representative Matt Gaetz, a Florida Republican, and Representative Bob Good, a Virginia Republican.

"Matt Gaetz, he paid minors to have sex with him at drug parties," the Texas Republican said. "Bob Good endorsed my opponent, a known neo-Nazi. These people used to walk around in white hoods at night. Now they're walking around with white hoods in the daytime."

How's that for party unity - calling each other scumbags, perverts, and Neo-Nazis...

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/republican-s-stunning-condemnation-of-gop-colleagues-scumbags/ar-AA1noBIe?ocid=windirect&cvid=d957ebef4f084b4691df858a87d26bba&ei=49

One wonders when they'll pick up where Jan 6th left off and start storming each others offices...

If the US instigated the way, it would be a proxy war. They didn’t, so it isn’t.

Yup and succeeding.

So the quid pro quo of the US sending Ukraine $61 billion in "military aid" is Ukraine passing an extremely unpopular mobilization law expanding the military draft.

Ukrainian youth is just meat, sent to be slaughtered in exchange for US death merchants' profits.

Now you have to imagine that Ukraine doesn't want to be free of fascist invaders? MIC is still only 3% of US gdp.

No, it's not. Putin doesn't want peace. He wants to expand into Ukraine and beyond.

If anything, the delay in aid has made Putin bolder. That's the cost of this delay in funding.

8 ( +14 / -6 )

Sigh, the EU should foot much of the cost for defending Ukraine. Google prof Mearsheimer, IMHO he has the best understanding of the situation. USA (if it cared about the free democratic world, like it says it does) should cutoff Russian's allies (completely), like China, India, Iran, NK etc. but Blinken is far too interested in 'diplomacy' despite the fact that each and every time his diplomacy has actually caused aggression.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

Appeasing tyrants’ demands seems to be the in thing with some people.

7 ( +13 / -6 )

This important Ukraine package will not only help defeat Putin, it will further the implosion of the Republican Party....Just look at the inter-party warfare...

MTG accuses her Repub Speaker of "disloyalty and betrayal"....

Former Repub Freedom Caucus member Ken Buck labels MTG "Moscow Marjorie"...

Two prominent Repubs admit their party has been "infected with Russian propaganda"...

Uber-conservative Newt Gingrich says the Freedom Caucus is composed of "Stupid Idiots"...

Lindsey Graham says fellow Repub Senator JD Vance's position on Ukraine is "garbage"...

This issue is tearing the party apart - and it's about time...

Send Putin and his Puppets in the Repub Party packing...

6 ( +11 / -5 )

Let Putin's Ru$$ia warn as much as they want!

With decisive military hardware coming to Ukraine soon, Ukraine will be able to achieve what is necessary.

There are not many options for Ukraine to return to a normal life:

Peace negotiations with Putin enabling him to continue his genocide

or

Total defeat of the Ru$$ian aggressors, returning all illegally occupied areas (incl. but not limited to Crimea) and more in accordance with President Zelenskyy's peace plan.

As for me, I vote for option #2!

Ukraine prevails!

“But they will likely be able to blunt the current Russian offensive assuming the resumed U.S. assistance arrives promptly,"

Nice to think the current Russian offensive could be blunted, but it would be even nicer to see Putin's invaders go back across the border into Russia.

If in fact more than 50,000 Russian invaders have been killed fighting for Putin in Ukraine, and many more Russian forces (government and private) seriously wounded, on top of all the Ukrainian military and civilian deaths and injuries, life in eastern Europe might be able to return to something close to normal after Putin brings his troops home where they belong, where they could be able to help their own country instead of doing further damage outside Russia. The returning troops could help the Russian economy ,maybe even help enough that Putin could finance the rebuilding of Ukraine. Putin send the kidnapped children back to their blood families.

8 ( +14 / -6 )

If the Kremlin wants to continue the invasion, then don't complain when the defenders of their own country wants to fight back

Apparently, according to our resident Vatniks here, defending a country is prolonging the war whilst invading one isn't.

Also, Ukrainian weapons won't affect the outcome of the invasion whilst Russian ones definitely will.

They aren't serious people.

5 ( +14 / -9 )

The aid package will go to the U.S. Senate, which could pass it as soon as Tuesday. U.S. President Joe Biden has promised to sign it immediately.

It still could take weeks for it to reach the front line, where it is desperately needed.

Actually, not so long because the parties involved have known what needs to be done, as soon as Biden signs it, it is ready to go.

7 ( +14 / -7 )

It will be further ruin for fascist Russia, too, though. And Azov Heroes should be freed.
